Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Clean and comfortable room. Really friendly staff. Ate in the pub resteraunt one night and food was fabulous. Overall although the pub area itself is small we had a lovely time and would visit again.

Having left a review almost four years ago and rumour has it that this place has changed hands I visited it today so thought I'd leave an up to date review. I really loved this place last time and it's still as good. We went for lunch and there was only one person in the place a local and we...

My partner & I booked a table at the Brown Horse after reading a positive review in a visitors guide at our B&B. When we arrived, the place was packed & the atmosphere buzzing - it had a very inviting, cozy feel & had nice, modern decor for an old country pub. They were a bit slow to get us...

Beautiful pub with great food however staff were a little scarce at this busy time of year. Perhaps to provide good service more staff this time of year would help. I would visit and book in advance and perhaps look to ordering food before you arrive as waiting time was over 30 mins.

If you are looking for a restaurant/pub with good atmosphere, nice staff and great food, then go no further. Excellent, looking forward to going back. We always love a visit to the Lake District and this will become a regular feature.

Had a great lunch here today. Near perfect pub. Warm welcome from really good staff, great ambience, good selection of guest beers. The best bit a great chicken pie which was really delicious. Thanks for allowing the dog in too, appreciated. Will be back.

I have eaten here before and the food is lovely but this time we stayed here overnight. We had the family room and they put an extra bed in for us, and it was still big enough for us to move round. The room has a lovely high ceiling with beams in it. The beds are lovely and comfortable we...

We visited for my birthday, an old haunt that keeps us coming back time and time again. Staff as hospitable and accommodating as ever, great atmosphere and above all fantastic, tasty, REAL food. I had Soup and my wife had the Chicken Liver Pate - Delicious. Both clearly homemade and freshly homemade to boot, the soup came with this tasty...
