We enjoyed an incredible weekend getaway at this amazing lodge in January 2017. We weren't sure what we had gotten ourselves into when we embarked on our trip and found ourselves driving through a blizzard from Fairbanks to get to the lodge but were pleasantly surprised at this "little piece of heaven" nestled into the heart of the Alaskan Range....

The folks that work here, Donella the baker, Charley the cook, and David our tour guide made our visit to this log cabin lodge a very wonderful experience! Charley fed us along with Donella every day with some tasty breakfasts and dinners. Coffee was always hot and ready. There is also wine, beer, and more strong spirits available to enjoy...

We arrived after dark in a blizzard to this homey lodge and were welcomed at the door by Charlie the cook and Donella the cake/pie maker. Soothing blues and beautiful details provided extra ambience to an already gorgeous lodge where no detail was not carefully tended to. We sat before the fire with the staff and discussed diner ad breakfast...

Great location. Wonderful people. Brandon and McKenzie took us on an incredible glacier hike. Charlie the chef was five star. His food was perfect for winter hiking. This is a fabulous place. I recommend this Lodge as an excellent way to experience Alaska.

I have had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hand built lodge on three occasions. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and food is great. Hard to believe you can live in such luxury in the middle of the Alaskan Range Mountains. If you are lucky, the northern lights will give you an incredible show. All the employees were...

We needed a place to stay for the night, to break up the long trip back from Fairbanks to Anchorage. What a wonderful surprise to find this beautiful lodge! It's so comfortable and the food is great! We had a room over looking the mountains, and our bed was very comfortable. The reading room upstairs was so cozy, it made...

Our stay at The Lodge at Black Rapids was one of the most memorable parts of our Alaska trip. It is a small, but elegant, lodge with just a few rooms. It is clear that the place was put together with a lot of attention to detail. A cookie-cutter place it is not. It is of post-and-beam construction and has...

A big thank you to Annie and her crew for a first class experience. After an arduous bike ride, we were starving. We were escorted to sumptuous room (with the most comfortable beds on our trip) where we showered in an immense bathroom and changed into clean clothes. Back upstairs, a plate of cheese, fruit and crackers were laid out...

The best place we stayed on our trip through the interior by far. The meals were delicious and far above the other food available in the area. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We arrived in between meals and they made a delicious cheese plate for us on the spot. Highly recommend

We stopped here for one night driving from Fairbanks to Valdez. We got a nice room (no view) at the second floor. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower was good. The decor is beautiful and you can feel that this place was designed with love and care. The area around the lodge is beautiful and we even had time for...
