Still buzzing with epic memories from this awesome spot. No matter what you are looking to do in the Popoyo area, this mystical and peaceful place feels immersed in the jungle but located near all the sites. The lodging was very serene and safe with a privacy design at its best.

Equlibrio is a hidden gem in Nicaragua. I have been living and traveling in Nicaragua off and on for nearly 20 years and this bit of heaven may very well be the best place I have stayed so far. The rooms ( to use a very over used adjetive) are incredible. So well built ...

I dont remember exactly what the rates for each day was but I think it was about $120. The casitas you are in are great. More like a large studio apartment with your own yard and outdoor relaxing area. If you eat at the resort, it's $15 a meal, I usually had breakfast and dinner. Great food, very fresh. You can borrow a kayak to paddle to the ocean. James can take you on a short hike up the small hill next to the resort. There is a traditional sauna that you can get them heat up. There are lots of trails and hammocks to lay in. Pretty much all the activities on the resort are free. They can bring in a massage therapist or you can go horseback riding. Those are additional costs but very reasonable. Each both about $30. All art supplies are provided. The biggest expense for me was the trip from and to the airport. It was $150 each way. The resort is two hours from Managua and the roads are a little rough but worth it. One of the best trips I've ever taken. Your biggest expenses are going to be simply getting there.

Sorry , I meant work in isolation.
Felippa, Hello, my name is James. I am the co-director of Equilibrio, writing to answer your questions. Art in a secluded beautiful setting is absolutely available. Each casita is in its own private area (garden, trees, birdies, etc.) providing both a real sense of space and nature AND privacy at all once. And within your private area, there is also a private gazebo that artists love to use for relaxing and working. The gazebo is close to the casita. Addtionally, there are also many parts of the "farm" (more like gardens and jungle) that are beautiful and removed from our common riverside lounge area -- to say, other areas where you can work in a solo environment. As for working with children in our community. We do run a library and that would be the ideal place to lend some of your efforts. However the library is closing for a month starting next week and kids go on summer "vacation." There may be other opportunities available depending on what you had in mind. Are there certain skills you'd like to share with kids ? Please let us know. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks. Sincerely, James Womack Co-Director Equilibrio
