The most beautiful setting and stunning views. We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite which I would definitely recommend as you have a conservatory with steps outside to sit on to enjoy the view. We ate in the restaurant and did feel like we'd travelled back in time to the 70's, but that, in some ways, added to the experience. The food was of a good quality and the service was excellent.

We came for the location: the access road ends at the sea and the lighthouse, so nobody around except guests and bird watchers. And the food was fantastic. Lovely welcome too. Fellow guests were enthusiastic about the birds and wildlife, we saw seals and porpoises too. Skies sufficiently dark to see constellations, Mars and Venus. I didn't see the access road as a problem: I drove slowly and cautiously, to me the road added to the feeling of remoteness

Ok, I am biased as I love lighthouses. On top of this I'm really interested in wildlife, so this place ticked all the boxes for us. We booked this as a last minute change to plans for my birthday and we are really glad we did. The hotel is slightly dated and could maybe do with a bit of sprucing up, but too much would spoil the atmosphere. The road to the lighthouse is a small lane, with some potholes, but coming from a rural area, we have seen far worse so this wasn't a problem. for after dinner. The food is absolutely wonderful. The price includes a five course dinner and we enjoyed every bit of this on the two nights we stayed. I am severely lactose intolerant and the chef adapted the menu so that I didn't miss out. The sauce on my beef fillets was delicious. Also, the lady who serves in the evening is enthusiastic and very welcoming and knowledgeable. This does make a difference when you are staying somewhere. Now to the wildlife. We were blessed with sunny days during our stay, which no doubt helped. On waking on our first morning, we went outside to be greeted with three deer, running down to the beach. We went a walk along the cliff tops, which was glorious. On returning, we saw a huge pod of dolphins, something I have never seen before and they took my breath away. They were there all day. If you love wildlife you really don't have to leave this place to go anywhere else during the day, as you can step outside and have it all. The light from the working lighthouse at night was also quite spectacular. Hard to describe but worth seeing. We will definitely return here once covid is over. Thank you for a memorable and unique stay.

Came here today and what lovely views, quite windy and make sure your car is in top condition for the suspension as the later road is potholes and high with grass mounds in the centre. We didn't book for lunch and it seems you should really do that before you arrive as they have to plan the food for the day. But we had a nice warm goats cheese baguette and filter coffee. Small bar and empty reserved tables. Worth it.
