Unfortunately our experience at ZuluWaters was not one which we were particularly happy with. From the moment we got to the main gate, we had to wait for someone to open up for us for atleast 30 minutes in the pouring rain. We were then taken straight to the Lake Cottage. The gentleman who took us there then opened up the door to the cottage and didn't even introduce himself and still don't even know what his name is. He did not switch on any lights and make sure that all was in order and then just left. As we started settling in, we realised that the lights in the kitchen, dining area and path way to the bedroom were not working. We improvised by using the battery operated lights which were left in the Cottage. The more we got settled in, we realised that most of the appliances were not in working order. We were hoping to make something nice for Christmas and the beginning of our holiday but we had no choice but to have sandwiches. We were really hoping that someone was going to come back and check on us to make sure we were okay but we were only seen to the following day after lunch. It was also quite a distance to the reception area and with the heavy rain, we were worried our car would get stuck in the thick mud. Also traveling with a small child we didn't want to take the risk. We felt very neglected by the staff and actually felt like we were more of an inconvenience being there than anything else. More importantly, there seemed to have been quite a big electrical problem throughout the reserve as when we were eventually moved to another cottage, the same problems seemed to occur throughout. Some of the appliances definitely need to be replaced and cookware need to also be checked as the handle of the pan broke while we were using it. I really do hope that all these issues are seen to before other guests arrive and have the same unpleasant experience we had!

Fantastic location, with very friendly staff. Excellent food. Be prepared to seriously relax and unwind. All activities are with the staff, ie no driving or walking on your own so you do not have to think and do for yourself. All is done for you. Go the full board option as the food is excellent. All in all a wonderful venue and not too far away. Could have better signage on the road to get there.

The chef’s food was divine, with unique and healthy ingredients and beautiful colours. We stayed in the Lake Cottage, which provides a private, serene atmosphere. While you enjoy your coffee outside on the porch in the morning the rhinos comes to greet you.

If you are looking for a curated,once-in-a-lifetime experience - Zulu Waters is it. When we drove into the property, it felt like we were driving into a scene from the Lion King. We spent two magical days in close proximity to rhinos, feeding close to our cottage. It was mind blowing to see their behaviors and have such beautiful creatures in our presence. The staff were AMAZING! From management, to the incredibly passionate rangers, the divine chefs and friendly helpers - we were treated like royalty. Whether you are doing a romantic getaway, looking for a proposal spot or just wanting to reconnect with nature, Zulu Waters will not disappoint.

What an amazing experience we had at Zuluwaters. My husband and I were greeted by Charlie and her friendly staff with welcome drinks and big smiles and that was all we needed to know that we were in the right place 😊 we stayed at the Nandi lodge,it was private and cozy and had spectacular views. We went on a game drive with one of the best rangers who knew all the hiding spots of the animals on the reserve.we had five star gourmet meals which was out of this world. The main highlight for me was the picnic at the river with the most delicious snack basket which was prepared by the chef, it was the most serene and romantic spot on the reserve.Thank you Zuluwaters game reserve for your hospitality and the outstanding service. We had the most awesome stay at ZuluWaters Game Reserve. After being greeted by the friendly staff with refreshments and a warm welcome we made our way to Lake Cottage. From up-close encounters with the game, to an amazing picnic in the bush (food was out of this world), to beautiful scenic walks and drives through the reserve, our weekend away from the city life was totally blessed in this tranquil beautiful setting. Thank you to all the staff of ZuluWaters for making our stay extra special - we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and even ended up staying an extra day!!

My daughter and I loved our weekend here. The reserve is beautiful and has a lot of game. We did 2 game drives which we loved and which got us up close and personal with buffalo and rhino. We also did 2 bush walks with a very knowledgeable guide which was a wonderful experience. My sedan battled a bit getting to the venue - it's far better suited to a 4x4 but our self catering accom was clean and lovely and there was plenty of firewood for the lovely fireplace. We'll be back!

Stayed in the Lake Cottage on my own. The cottage is in the middle of know-where, so it feels as though you have the entire game reserve to yourself. Visited daily by Rhinos, bucks, zebra to name a few. The staff are incredibly and although I stayed in the self catering, I was able to sample chefs cooking one evening, which I can say was a three course meal done right. Thanks all at ZuluWaters for a fantastic stay and I will be back with family and friends.
