Nestled near St Ives with stunning sea views, Polmanter Touring Park is lauded for its prime location and the ease it provides in exploring the surrounding areas. Guests are enamored with the park's atmosphere, especially the refurbished conservatory bar and the warm vibe during events. The amenities, from the pristine pools to the modern facilities, receive consistent praise, although some guests express concerns over the value as prices climb. The addition of a dog wash room and a games room reflects the park's commitment to guest convenience, while the staff's friendliness and efficiency are frequently commended. Despite occasional remarks about shower temperature variability, the overall cleanliness of the park is a standout feature.

Excellent site 5 star plus for camping and touring and the staff here are fabulous as they keep the site clean and tidy and will help in any way they can. After 2200 the site also has an electric van for the night warden to do his safe and legal checks and ensure noise levels are kept to an acceptable level.
The site has a heated swimming pool plus soft play area and youngsters play area for the under 9,s plus and adventure park and games room for the older children.
They have a stables bar where you can order food form breakfast lunch and evening meals. Dogs are always welcome in the conservatory area and a dog walking field where you can let your dog off the lead to play.
The site does have a safety rule of all dogs on a 2 meter lead on the sites and no go areas for dogs where children are playing. The site offers poo bags and waste bins for disposing are everywhere.
The walk down to St Ives is about 30 minutes and is an easy walk all down hill right into the town centre bit remember the walk back is all uphill and I would say is about 60% harder than the outward walk.
DO NOT FEAR though there are buses running from site 20 minutes to the hour I to St Ives and 20 past the hour from St Ives bus number 55 is the bus number your looking for at £2.20 per adult either way dogs travel free. Taxes are also available but on A1 taxes take dogs and one way journey costs £8.
We loved this site and yes this was our first visit but we have already rebooked for next year.
Any downsides only the narrow roads and lack of parking but except for shopping in Tesco Penzance which is only 7 miles away we never found a reason to use the car as all shopping and travel is on hand you could never leave the site if you just wanted a total relaxation holiday. I REALLY hope this gives a clear picture of what an outstanding site Polimanter is I really think if 10 stars existed this site would be awarded it.

We returned for our second stay at this superb five star site for another week of relaxation. Our pitch was great with stunning seaviews towards St Ives, and the whole site and facilities were spotless.
We walked down to the town via the lane accessed from the park, a very enjoyable and easy 30minutes stroll, but we were very grateful for the the reasonably priced bus for the return journeys after enjoying a few too many drinks watching the world go by in the harbour.
All the staff we met were a credit to the company, and it's easy to see why the majority of them have worked there for several seasons. Another good sign is the amount of returning holiday makers that we encountered, including some we met the previous year.
Polmanter has become our favourite location in Cornwall, and we will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

We have just returned from a brilliant week long stay at Polmanter during the first week of June. We were blown away by the whole set up from the large grass pitches (with EHU), immaculate shower/toilet blocks, well stocked on-site shop, heated pool and the fabulous Stable bar for great food and drink options along with regular evening entertainment. All the amenities here are finished to a very high standard and seemingly no expense spared. Great bunch of friendly staff providing exceptional customer service, highly recommend this site for all traveller types.

The site provides its own scheduled bus service down to St. Ives in high season however both Carbis Bay and St. Ives town are accessible by foot from the rear exit path of the campsite, both 30 mins in either direction.

There’s a few bus tour (First Bus) options for exploring the wider area and these are generally caught at The Makaloff bus station area in St. Ives. We jumped on the Lands End Coaster for a trip along the coast all the way to Penzance via Lands End, £2pp each way.

We started camping during lockdown local first then a festival. Polmanter was the furthest coming from Hull that we'd been. It was well worth the long drive. We booked 1 week 6th to 13th August non electric camping pitch. We couldn't have predicted the weather which was amazing. We arrived at polmanter 2 hours earlier than the 12pm checkin time. This wasn't a problem they have a field you can layup in until your pitch is ready. Once set up we went to the onsite shop which as you'd expect dearer than your supermarket but surprisingly cheaper than I expected. It was very well stocked with essentials including frozen products if you have the ovens in a caravan etc. They have fresh baked croissants and bread rolls from 8.30am each morning not homemade but very good. We checked out the shower toilet facilities which were great especially when you're non electric camping.plugsockets decent hairdryers clean toilets and showers. Multiple blocks dotted around the site. You can look on their website everything they have. Theres a room with freezers in that you can put icepacks in I would recommend putting your name on as we put 2 new ones in and they went astray. We booked for next year before leaving We are not expecting the weather we have just had but know there is plenty to do regardless. There is a bus service where an adult can pay £20 for 7 days it's unlimited travel all over Cornwall on any bus service so you can go down to St Ives or as far as lands end we will definitely be doing this next year.
There is nothing more we could have asked for.

A lovely site with an amazing view.
Toilet block was immaculate each time I went in. Showers lovely and warm with good water pressure.
The laundry room is the best I have ever used on a campsite, washes actually washed so got lots done before coming home.
We had a few meals in the restaurant and can highly recommend, food was tasty and good value for money.
All of the staff were friendly and very welcoming.
Fair sized pool which my children loved. An hour each morning is an adult swim so no fear of being splashed.
My son enjoyed a free Tennis lesson each week we were there which was a bonus.
Games room with pool and table tennis was lots of fun.
Indoor play area for younger children.
We look forward to returning to this site next year.

We stayed on Pitch 248 one pitch away from the toilets and showers, which were absolutely spotless no matter what time of day or night you you went in, I even saw cleaners at 1am but they were so quiet, the vehicles they use are electric so they do not disturb you. We ate in the restaurant twice, lovely food and hot. The shop on site was very friendly and pretty much had everything you might need, if not Tesco is a couple of miles away. We didn’t use the pool but it looked lovely. The whole site is well maintained. You can cut through the site to a road, turn left to walk to St Ives 20 mins downhill or right to Carbis Bay uphill. We loved our stay here.

I'm so glad to hear you loved your stay. As you spotted, we have night wardens who patrol the site for noise, deal with issues and clean the amenity blocks, but they are mindful not to disturb anyone while they do so! Its great that you enjoyed your meals in the bar, and enjoyed the walk to St Ives. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit to St Ives

Our last holiday at Polmanter was about 12 years ago with our kids, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was great to return after all these years to see the changes and renew our experiences of the lovely St Ives and surrounding area.

Polmanter is a fantastic site, very modern and clean, with everything on site. The toilets are the spotless, accommodating families, with independent bath and shower rooms. Well worth a visit..

The only downside was on our arrival. After driving 10 hours through the night arriving around noon we drove to the reception to be greeted by a sharp rebuke, as we had missed a sign asking us to walk to reception. Let's just say we were less than enamoured by this, and felt a bit humiliated.

Reception staff, perhaps a warmer welcome, and a bit of understanding when mistakes are made could enhance visitors experience, instead of causing embarrassment.

Thankyou for taking the time to review our site - I'm so glad that you loved the facilities on your return after such a long interval. I'm sorry if you felt that the welcome wasn't very warm - we try to make it as clear as possible in the pre-arrival email and check-in and with signs at the entrance. We do not have space for vehicles to queue right outside reception, and so if a guest makes a mistake and drives to reception, the team do explain for future visits, we would be grateful if you could park in the arrivals area and walk to reception to check in. I can appreciate that may have felt less welcoming than you might have hoped after a long journey. (If mobility makes the 100m walk to reception an issue, we do have accessible parking in the small car park just beside reception) I'm glad that you had a great stay revisiting St Ives, and hope you'll stay with us again on your next visit. Regards, Becki

Arrived and within 2 hours had a problem ordered a pizza chips and a kids meal total £23 and only the kids meal Arrived after waiting 10 minutes asked about the pizza as kids meal was getting cold to be told it wasn't on the reciept lady who served confirming our order and something to do with paper in machine we got our pizza no offer of a new kids meal as it was cold until I asked then when they arrived no chips. We then had a tall blonde waiter with an accent going on as if we were trying to steal food no sorry nothing I think a smile would crack her face. The young waiters are really nice and smiley the reception and shop staff are really nice and welcoming. As for the place itself its a great location and great facilities pool is freezing and it's just boring really bingo one night band on the next nothing over the weekend it could do with a bit of fun a karaoke a kids entertainer even a bit of music would help felt like a funeral while eating the food is nice but it needs more seating for such a big park the kids indoor play is good but again there is speakers but no music kids like to sing and dance the door release on the inside is way too low toddlers can even reach it we ended up going home a day earlier as it was so boring on the nights and being 9 hours drive we thought we would beat the Monday traffic all in all its just OK it could be great with a bit of character

Just coming to the end of another fabulous 2 week stay at Polmanter.
The site is as immaculate as always; toilet blocks are the cleanest you're likely to see, all 3 cleaned / refreshed throughout the day AND night; grass cut as soon as a pitch is vacated; loads of water and waste points; massive pitches, most with at least some sea views; pool is clean and warm-ish with good loungers; bar and conservatory are good, breakfasts are excellent.
Minor gripe - the use of fishing pole flags is getting irritating! On windy days its like The Mall on Trooping The Colour, noisy at night as well. Minor I know, but annoying over your head at 2am.
Tip for going to St Ives - the bus is £2.50 each way or £4.70 return per person. A1 and Ace Taxis are £7.50 to £8.50 each way, so if there are three or more of you (or share) it's cheaper, quicker and you have room for beach stuff, which you don't on the bus!
All in all, still a fantastic site. We'll be back!

Thankyou so much for taking the time to review the site, we think that the amenity blocks are an absolutely central part of a touring holiday, so we make sure that they're the very best they can be. We request that guests do not use illuminated light poles, and although we do allow flags, we do state in our site rules that flags which cause a noise disturbance are may be required to be taken down, if affecting other guests’ enjoyment of the park - and certainly their sleep! - so if you had an issue with a noisy flag from a neighbouring pitch on a future visit, please do let us know. We look forward to welcoming you again next time, Becki

My husband and I did a 4 week stay last year in one of the apartments, absolutely loved it so decided to do it again but in Morwena cottage. It was good, really had a great time in spite of poor weather. Its 7 minutes from st Ives centre only £2.30 to park for 4 hrs we buy fresh milk from Trink farm that is excellent. The dog walk area is brilliant too. The house is well equipped and if you need anything you only have to ask, they take deliveries for you if necessary. The staff are all very nice and Sunday lunches at the bar are excellent value for money. Lots of places to visit in Cornwall. Only thing we didn’t like was the chandelier light over the bath which is too low and not practical but the two bedrooms are lovely and the heating is more than adequate. Garden is private and well kept we didn’t use the jacuzzi so can’t comment on that.

234 is a nice sheltered pitch, it has 2 Cornish hedges behind and to the side. The doors of the amenity block are the opposite side of the building, so you shouldn't have too much noise from it. 240 is further away with griselinia bush hedges on 3 sides, but you do have more neighbours! A great resource on our website is our interactive map - I can't post a link, but if you do a web search for Polmanter interactive map you'll find it, and can see a birds eye view of the pitches, and clicking on each pitch on the map shows you photos and more informatiuon such as pitch size.

Yes, the outdoor pool is usually open from mid-May till mid-September - Our reception team are able to advise the exact dates each year. Unless there are safety concerns, the pool is open daily during this period.

I’m sorry but I’m not sure, but the shop was pretty well stocked with food, gifts and camping supplies. You should email the site directly as they will be able to advise. There was also a well stocked hardware shop in St Ives itself which also sold camping supplies. Hope this helps.
