Polmanter was a great site, beautifully located and very clean. Facilities were excellent - from the heated outdoor pool to the at hand drinking water and waste disposal points, to the wet suit hose and the freshly cut grass!

The reception staff were very helpful, and the restaurant staff friendly, during this tricky time. The kids play area is large and well kept, plenty of space for even more kit!

Each pitch is well maintained and provides privacy whilst allowing some good socialising if preferred. Would highly recommend as a St Ives' site - Just be aware of how far this location actually is! :-)

I would like to share my experience with people out there. We have just spent 10 days in Polmanter getting there on 4 July I was a bit apprehensive Of the current Covid -19 situation but after been there and seeing the precautions that were in place on the sight I would recommend this place to everyone. The staff have went above and beyond to make this a safe environment for us all to enjoy our holidays, there is hand sanitizer in place before entering a toilet, shower, shop and the restaurant. The one way system that is in place works well the food for takeaways is just as perfect as if you are sitting in. The staff are continuously cleaning and sanitising the toilets and sanitising all touch points. This is a huge task and the staff are still friendly and helpful at all times. Well a huge thank you to all the staff at Polmanter for giving me a lovely beautiful safe holiday in these unsettled times ❤️I hope the rest of the season works just as well as the past 10 days have stay safe take care see you all next year ❤️❤️

Our first camping trip to Cornwall , we had a lovely time and the campsite was exceptionally clean and the staff were always polite and very helpful. They were continually sanitising every touch point and there was sanitizer outside every amenity block and by the dog bins. The stable bar was well organised for takeaway, although we had a lot of problems trying to use their order on line service, which we gave up with and went in and ordered, the food was delicious. We used the pool and had our slot for swimming which was very well organised, so every one had a chance to use the pool.
The only downside was the weather, we had thick fog for 2 1/2 days and rain which did put a dampener on things for us and we had to drive south to find some sun, unfortunately, the campsite cannot control the weather. St ives was lovely but very busy and if you are concerned about social distancing this would not be suitable for you.

Hi, Thankyou for your kind review. Its a shame that the weather hampered your stay for a couple of the days! Sorry that you had issues with the online ordering - it was a new system for us this year, and although has generally worked well, it was important to us to still have the flexibility to order with one of the team. The grounds team have certainly been kept busy with the additional sanitisation measures, but it helped us all to feel safer, and thankfully avoid any issues, I will pass on your kind feedback. We hope to welcome you again on your next visit to St Ives. Becki

Whilst sat at poolside chilling in the sun with the kids occupied with swimming I thought I owe it to all the staff at Polmanter to write a review singing the praises of the site and staff.
Firstly the site is immaculate and washroom facilities kept especially clean during this pandemic.
The bar staff at the Stables Inn give a warm welcome every time and give a great service. Also the food here is really good quality and fairly priced.
Poolside attendants do a great job also keeping the area spaced out and cleaned regular.

The site is in a great position. Close to St Ives (approx 25min walk via a quite lane) or a bus every hour from the site to St Ives which costs £4 for a family of four. Great views over the bay with Awesome sun sets.
Porthminster beach is our favourite and again about 25mins walk.
Already booked for next year and can see us becoming regular guests here.

Keep doing what your doing Polmanter A++++++

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Morwenna cottage, nestled at the entrance to Polmanter Touring Park.

What a fabulous, well equipped cottage and we'd have no hesitation in booking it again, should we travel to Cornwall in the future.

It has two en suite bedrooms, an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. It also features a hot tub, in the beautiful landscaped private gardens. It has a dishwasher, washing machine and all the culinary equipment you would need for a self catering holiday. Everything has been thought of and it's decorated and furnished to a high standard.

It's an ideal base, within walking distance to St Ives, although you may prefer to get a bus or taxi back, as its an uphill walk on the return leg, which may not suit everyone.

We used some of the facilities at Polmanter during our stay, including the outdoor heated swimming pool, bar and restaurant. It's a beautiful, well maintained touring park and spotlessly clean.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and were kind enough to accept two deliveries during our stay, as it was our Anniversary.

All in all, if you're thinking of booking one of the wonderful cottages on offer or are considering reserving a pitch on Polmanter Touring Park, you won't be disappointed. The location is perfect to pop into St Ives, which is a must and it's an ideal spot for exploring some of the stunning scenery and places to visit in southern Cornwall.

Thanks to all the team at Polmanter for making us feel welcome and for all your help during our stay.

Visited during COVID restrictions. Not very clean which is concerning
Drains blocked in showers.
Although the shower water is hot the water timer only lasts for about 20 seconds at a time. ..... Awful.
No hand washing sinks near toilets had to walk into shower area - shame they had not separated toilets and showers.
The toilets in the bar are not clean and the hand drier was only working for a matter of seconds. Women leaving drying their hands on their clothes!
The timeings on everything are far too short.
Pool clean.
Bus to the beach regular £3.60 each way for 2 ad UK lts - wouldn't advise using the car as limited parking in St Ives.

We picked this site for our first camping trip as a family, bringing our little boy along who is just 1.

We really loved the site, couldn’t fault it at all! It seemed very well established and everything seem to be running like clockwork, Nearly every time I visited the toilet block (and it was frequently what with our son) there was cleaning going on, hand sanitiser and wipes available around the site, was very impressed with how clean the place was! Didn’t see any litter either.

2 parks targeting younger and older children.

The heated pool was lovely, we only visited on a hot day but if our son was a bit older I’m sure we would have been in it everyday.

Can’t comment on the bar/restaurant as we didn’t use but I heard good things from other guests whilst there.

Pitch sizes very generous sizes, we have an 8 man tent then still had plenty of space outside and for our car.

Site location perfect distance from St ives, very close and also a bus comes to site just near reception.

Security patrolled regularly of an evening.

The site seemed to attract a wide audience, there was families with children of all ages, young & older couples.

We had a 1 tiny issue at pitch 135 where our electric would cut of in the night so we would have to turn it back on, it didn’t happen every night and it didn’t happen to the family we was with on the adjoining pitch, we didn’t bother reporting it either as it only happened a couple of times and when we woke in the night we would just turn it back on easily enough.

Overall a really great site for anyone wanting to visit Cornwall on a caravan or camping holiday.

Hopefully when restrictions are eased more the soft play area can open again as my son would of loved that!

Thanks for a great holiday!

We returned from an eight night stay at Polmanter touring park last week, one of our favourite holiday sites.
We usually book a grass fully serviced pitch for our twin axle touring caravan and porch awning, the electric hook up, water tap and drainage are close enough to easily connect on the right hand f/s pitches, and on the left hand ones (from the roadway) extra length water and drainage hoses may be needed to connect the caravan to the water tap and to reach the on- pitch grey waste drainage.
Polmanter touring park is an excellent holiday park, with friendly helpful staff, spotless facilities and well maintained large pitches and park infrastructure.
Last week was quieter than usual because of lockdown, but this site is never noisy or rowdy.
The Stable Bar was closed except for takeaways due to government restrictions so we didn't go there this time, but during normal times we usually go up for a meal and drinks, all reasonably priced in a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.
A highly recommended 5☆ site close to St Ives, we're back again for a fortnight in July and are already planning next years stay.

Like many people this year our summer holiday had been cancelled due to covid 19 but opting for a week in October at Polmanter was still a great choice. The campsite is in such a lovely location which really compliments the site itself which is well run, clean and most of all has staff who will go the extra mile to make your stay most enjoyable. We were impressed in the way the site had adapted to the restrictions there were hand sanitizers everywhere and using the facilities had been well thought out. We will definitely return one day without a doubt.

We stayed at Polmanter for week in August and had an amazing time here. The site was very well maintained, pitches mowed and hedges trimmed throughout the week as people arrived or left. All pitches are separated by hedges on at least one side which gives a bit more privacy and a sense of your own space.

The facilities were always very clean and every other sink was blocked off in the toilet blocks to maintain some social distancing.
Plenty of toilet blocks so we were always able to find a free shower in the evening.

The pool was a huge hit for our family and we used it every morning, I enjoyed having the adults only hour from 9-10 to swim properly before the children joined in. It was a lovely temperature, not at all cold, my daughter also loved the play park. There is a freezer room for cooler blocks which was free and a brilliant service, other campsites we’ve been to charge for this which I always think is wrong. At night the site was silent after 11pm until generally around 8am which I was so impressed about as sometimes being in a tent can be noisy. The bus into St Ives was brilliant as saved taking the car and trying to park when it was very busy.

We were very lucky with the weather as it was sunny every day and the view out to sea from the campsite was stunning. The walk down hill into St Ives is very pretty and straightforward with lovely views over the nearby beaches. I would definitely recommend and hopefully we’ll be back soon.
