Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here as part of a travel group a couple of weeks ago and we were really made to feel welcome! Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable - there are lovely hand-drawn maps available with useful recommendations for the whole town. We had the en-suite room upstairs - it was clean, homely and quirky, as was the whole hostel. Would definitely stay here again!

This might be a favorite hostel in Europe on my trip so far. It's small and homey feeling. The perfect place to get away and relax for a few days. Clean, good location, and wonderful staff. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cesky Krumlov!!

We had the Baker's Room on the right at the bottom of the stairs. It was a spacious room, but the bathroom was pretty small. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great, but the water was hot. This room had no outlet near a mirror, so my sister had to flat iron her hair blind. It's always helpful to have an extra mirror outside the bathroom for getting ready, which this room didn't have. The staff were great. My sister had a canker sore starting and needed some bleach so she could do a bleach rinse (really shortens the life of a canker sore) and the owner was able to track some down for her. Her canker sore was gone in 4 days.

Thanks for your honest and positive review. Interesting comment about the water pressure in the shower. Not really sure what happened there because it's strong now. Perhaps you didn't lift up the shower knob to maximum? Thanks for your comment about the mirror. I'm on it! Enjoy your travels!

It looks like a house, indeed! It is an old building, but very well kept. Staff very kind (there was a Brazilian girl working there at that time!) and good location, walking distance from bus station and historical centre. I recommend this place for sure!

We loved our stay here. It was pouring rain so we ended up hanging out at the hostel (more of a hotel really) more than we usually would. It was charming, close to everything and very welcoming. The young women working there, sisters from South Africa, couldn't have been more delightful or helpful. Definitely a wonderful stay and a great value.

This was a lovely place to stay in beautiful Cesky Krumlov. I was in one of the top rooms which had a lovely view but being quite tall I struggled a bit with the height of the room in some places. Had to go downstairs to shower which didn't bother me but might be off-putting for some people. These small things didn't matter though as I enjoyed my time here so much. The owners were great and full of recommendations of where to see, eat, etc in the town. I also must give a special shout out to Romandi and Iolanthea who had only been working there a couple of days. They helped me piece together an adaptor chain to charge my phone as Czech sockets don't seem to fit the one I use elsewhere in Europe. Even better than that they made delicious breakfast pancakes for the guests, they were so good I ate 5!

Thanks so much for your honest review! Great staff make great (and well-fed!) guests :) Just a quick response about showering elsewhere...Your room is fantastic as far as views go, but it's the only private room without an ensuite shower/toilet. If it is an issue for anyone, they should book a room with ensuite. Happy trails, and I hope you return again soon! Cheers,

Great, cozy hostel five minutes' walk from the heart of Cesky Krumlov! Everything, from supermarkets to the castle are close by. The staff are incredible -- friendly, helpful and super knowledgeable about the area -- and the facilities are comfortable, clean and fully equipped. Great for a solo traveler!

Krumlov House was such a joy to visit. It has a warm, homely feel, perfect to chill and relax in. Carolyn and the other staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and I felt comfortable there the whole time. The rooms are spacious (I stayed in a 6-bed dorm) with chargers and a shelf for every bed, and the bathrooms was beautiful and clean. I would definitely come back, it’s the perfect place to stay while exploring the beautiful surrounds :)

Our family just came back from the Krumlov House and I can asure you, this place is just marvelous. Still in the historical centre area, only five minutes of walk to get to the heart of the city, you can find this magical cosy family hotel. For a friendly price, you can get a place, that suits up for more than 15 people, has three stairs, large kitchen, parking lot, very cosy and beautiful interior and on the up of it all - an outside terrace with a magnificant view of the city. Just buy a wine and sit with your friends watching all that unique beauty. Carilone and her family are nice, helpful and reliable people. The hotel is also kids and dogs friendly. I really cannot do more than recommend this place with a complete honesty. Just screw the expensive hotels and go to the Krumlov House already!

Krumlov house has been my most pleasant hostel experience yet. Loved everything - staff, facilities, cleanliness, location. Could stay here for a couple of weeks more! Highly recommended if you're looking for a place that's closer enough to the town's attractions, had a nice cozy feel to it and looks beautiful.
