Our guest house Olšakovský is situated directly in the heart of the historical center of Český Krumlov, just two streets parallel below the town square Svornosti in the former handicraft street Parkán on the right bank of the Vltava river. Only very few accommodation as us can offer the location in the heart of the town with such calm and cossy atmosphere side of the tourist rush of the main road by the river Vltava. We can offer our guests the ideal chance for a pleasant vacation in an absolutely quiet and hidden part of town center with the unique experience of old medieval times, but with the comfort of the present. The river is just behind the house with a garden.

Charming hotel with incredible views from our room of the castle. We were in the attic. No AC, but luckily it wasn’t hot. Beware in summer though. There is a fan. The only issue is the owner (the woman at breakfast- I’m assuming she’s the owner) doesn’t speak English. Difficult communication ensued. Breakfast was good. I did email with someone who spoke English. I’m assuming it’s her hubby. But we never saw him. Can’t beat the views from room #5

This B&B is fantastic - it's exactly what you want if you're a B&B type person. Rooms are beautifully decorated, the food is great, the town is fantastic, and the hosts couldn't be more wonderful people. We've stayed here twice and would gladly do so every time we're in Krumlov!

Penzionek Olsakovsky is modest but wonderful - right in the middle of town but down a little lane away from the madness of the day-tripper crowd.
We booked early for the attic-room with the two large windows which we would open wide and look out every morning & night and feel reluctant to leave: this charming little town, with our very own magical view of Cesky Krumlov Castle and the beautiful river that flows by.
Thank you, dear Tereza for a lovely stay - breakfast in the garden added the finishing touch - now just get a new change of pillows and you are perfect!
We stayed at the fabulous Hotel Imperial in Vienna before coming to CK but it is the fond memories of this little pensione which we carry with us forever.

We spent two lovely nights in this pension and loved every minute of it. We had a rental car and it was a little bit of a challenge getting to the pension but the GPS helped. I had booked parking with the reservation and the kind man at the desk walked us to the parking space so we could find it. Wehad the downstairs room which was a little small but we made do. The breakfast was served on a tray outside of our room. You could either eat in the dining room, in your room or in the lovely patio out back. We opted for the patio as it has a lovely view of the river and the city. We were concerned about the drive out of town as you cannot go the same way that you came in but again we were given very good directions on a map and city permits for our car in case we were stopped. Hosts were so very helpful, even with a bit of a language barrier. Our hats off to this pension and a recommendation that you stay here.

I just can't say enough good things about Pension Olsakovsky. I know that what I will say will just repeat what's already been said a thousand times on here, but this place is just amazing. We stayed in room 5, the big room on the top floor overlooking the river and castle. The room is huge and easily accommodated the 3 of us (we were travelling with our 7 year old son). The view from the room is incredible. Breakfasts in the back garden next to the river were great. It was just perfect.
The only negative that I could say about the place (though this is not really specific to this pension but would affect any place in the old part of town) is that it's tough to get to if you're driving. It's in a pedestrian only area, so GPS doesn't know how to find it. The map provided by the pension is not very detailed. We ended up driving around Cesky Krumlov for an hour before we finally got to the pension. Other than that, this place is incredible.

This was probably my favorite hotel during our 2 1/2 weeks traveling across Europe. We stayed 2 nights and our group of 4 had the two rooms on the top floor. Our rooms were very spacious, but the furnishings and angled ceilings made the rooms so cozy and quaint. The bathrooms were also quite spacious. One of our rooms overlooked the river-such a wonderful view! Breakfast was perfect and since we had great weather during our stay, we were able to eat at picnic tables in the back yard by the river each morning. It was so easy to walk down the street and be in the center of Cesky Krumlov. It was a little difficult to find the hotel since we had a car and were driving into the city. We didn't think cars were allowed to drive into the city, but apparently they are on certain roads. If we had known that up front, it would have been easy to find. Parking was available right out front. We also had trouble getting the wifi to work at this hotel. Overall, we would certainly stay here again!

The location is very good, on a side street but near the river. We also had Room 2, downstairs, and it is certainly cramped, as is the bathroom. You really don't have space even for a moderate amount of luggage. The breakfast was fine, and huge. We even made sandwiches from it one day for hiking, so it probably doesn't need to be so large. I wasn't fond of the knit sheets, as they seem a little scratchy, but we had these sheets in other places too. We knew the owner was out of the country during our visit, and so maybe our experience would have been different if he had been there, but there are really no fluent English speakers there now. We had no significant communication problems, but even simple questions were met with confusion and apologies. There were church bells, but not too close, fortunately. There was no other noise except during a rain storm. We were not able to use the very nice garden because of the weather. The "Two Maries" restaurant on the same street was quite good, in a town without many good places to eat. I'd stay there again because of the location, but try for one of the upstairs rooms.

We really liked it here. We were in room 5, top floor attic room looking out over river & castle. Perfect. Funky cool room, lots of room, great bathroom & shower. We really liked the self serve wine bar, at this price we couldn't afford to not drink. Great back yard garden right on the river with access to swim, eat or just hang out. The owners were very friendly and helpful, check in and out a breeze (remember it is cash only) this was just a wonderful place.
One issue with Cesky Krumlov itself, however: the food was only so-so. So, we were only here two days, but we travel a lot, have been gone now seven and a half weeks this trip, and we are pretty good at finding good or great food.
That being said, we had a great time here, and this was a wonderful guesthouse. You should be sure to float the river to the Abbey, skip the hike up the hill to the "great view" from the closed chapel.

Dave617 asked a question Jul 2015
Somerville, Massachusetts, United States5 contributions4 helpful votesHello,
My fiancee and I are considering visiting on 16-18 July. Could you tell me please the price for accommodation on these nights? Also, do your rooms have air conditioning?
Thanks!
You will have to contact the hotel to see what the current prices are. It was pretty reasonable and you are very close to walking to everything. I believe they had air conditioning but you can confirm with them that all room are air conditioned.
Dear Guest, the traffic system in the historical center is stricked. It is the pedestrian zone with some exceptions for residents and guest of accommodation. Generally it is not allowed for guest to park in the center. We are the only accommodation in our area that can offer the parking in the historical center. We have exclusively 3 parking spots for our guest house just 20m from our house. The entrance fee for a car and parking in historical center costs 20kc + 80kc = 100kc/car/day. It is very safe place.
OR you can also leave Your car in the central parking space in local brewery Eggenberg. It costs 200 Kc/car/day. The central parking lot is safe, guarded and insured.
Please print the confirmation of the reservation and show it to police, when they stop You in center. We give You the permission afterword at the guest house, so You do not have to park the car somewhere at suburb, walk for the permission to center, go back to car and then drive back to center. Drive directly to us.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND to follow the map in the attachment. Car navigation are often lost in the histrocial center and lead to wrong directions.
