It's simply awful: filthy, smelly, noisy... I couldn't stay there. Many people say the location is terrific, but I found it too close to the city center, so it's impossible to get a single moment of peace. The place stinks, carpets and bathrooms are discusting. In the end I prefered to let go a few bucks and book somewhere else.

From the spider webs/nest in the corner of the room to the filthy carpets out in the hallway, to the stench of sewer gas coming from the bathroom that was bad enough to gag a maggot, then back to the bed which was so saggy that we both woke up with sore backs in the mornings. There is a theater...

The hotel is situated in the center of Prague, a few meters from Wenceslaus Square and on the main pedestrian route to the Old Town Square. Therefore, if you need a really quiet room, ask for one on the rear side of the building. The location of the hotel is superb for travellers who want to explore Prague on foot....

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
