We stayed at Riverbank Hostel while on a 3 week trip around Germany and Austria, including 5 days in Prague for a conference. First, this city is incredible, the history, the architecture, just amazing. We found that eating out was cheaper than buying groceries so we VERY much enjoyed local cuisine and the beer... the best beer we've ever tasted!!... More

Very cheap one with a great location, that you can walk to downtown. Especially beautiful at night) It was pretty cold in winter, but we really liked privacy and the kitchen was for everyone's use. It was not very clean, but if you are there just for a couple nights - this ia a good variant

I stayed here just one night, knowing simply that I wanted a bed to crash into at night and I was leaving in the morning. The six-bed female dorm is actually two rooms, and I was lucky enough to be in one room with just one other woman. Free WIFI and a PC to use. Accomodation is fine, basic but... More

The location is great, within walking distance of everything and close to subway. Free WIFI. Good lockers in room. Large rooms with single beds, no bunks, and beds were pretty comfortable. I was in Prague from 23.05 till 30.05 and really enjoyed staying at River Bank Hostel (found it through my favorite Hostelworld.com). It's very clean, spacious, cheap =12 euros/person in 6 bed female dorm. In fact there were 2 rooms, every one with 3 comfy beds. Fully equipped kitchen, The hostel is excellently located, tram stops near the building ,... More

I really liked River Bank Hostel! We arrived in Prague and were dropped off directly outside the hostel door, but I can imagine it being difficult to find otherwise. The entrance to the hostel is literally a large door off the street with no signs to identify itself. The doorway is situated next to a yellow store called 'eta'. From... More

Please be advised that this is a hostel, not a hotel. The location was great! Along the river, about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Charles Bridge and a few restaurants around. The rooms were very very spacious with high ceiling... so you hear people walking even they are not in your room but that didn't bother me... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
