Hotel Schwaiger is a 4-star boutique hotel that offers comfortable accommodation for the convenience of those visiting Prague; be it for business or for pleasure. The rooms and their interiors are decorated with a taste of the 1920's (First Czechoslovak Republic) and are designed to satisfy even the most exacting of guests. However, the real treasure of our hotel is a charming garden. Hotel Schwaiger is proud to have re-opened its doors after complete reconstruction in 2017.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a 4* hotel, Hotel Schwaiger offers very attractive prices at the time of my booking. So what's the catch in the deal? Did it really live up to my expectation of a 4* hotel? First the location. It wasn't that much of a good start. It was not within the walking distance of the old town, and the nearest metro/tram stop Hradčanská is 15 min walk away, and it definitely wasn't pleasant to drag your luggage through the cobble stoned pavements uphill and downhill. (it was a good test of how durable your luggage wheels were) There was a restaurant immediately opposite the hotel (as well as the hotel's own restaurant). But other than these if you need other food, or a supermarket or any other shop then you had to go back to Hradčanská. Being near to Hradčanská has its own advantages. It is very close to the castle hill and it is a very convenient traffic hub to lots of places, including Cesky Krumlov. So besides the location, were there any other alarm bells? Well in the one night that I stayed (Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions, we could only arrive a few days later and so our stay here was just 1 night instead of 4.) I really couldn't find anything. We got the attic room and it was spacious, clean and modern. I guess it was more like a penthouse than an attic as I didn't feel cramped there. Even the bathroom was spacious. You got all the modern amenities that you would get in a 4* hotel, including a coffee machine, an electronic safe and some slippers. (Yes you had to climb up the last flight of stairs as the lift could not reach there but that's understandable for an attic room) The beds were comfortable and being in a "remote" location means it was really quiet at night. I guess the best part of our one night stay was really the breakfast in the next morning. The choices were plentiful and the quality was good, even the fried eggs tasted fresh and seasoned, and you could make your own waffle. It was a shame we didn't have a chance to try out the hotel's restaurant for other meals due to our limited time there. All in all, if you do not mind the location I think this hotel is perfect.

Everything is fine, but keep in mind some minuses: The rooms on the second floor have a wooden ceiling and all movements in the upper rooms are CLEARLY heard in the rooms below.... The restorant was closed (for winter it was said). The hotel does not have its own parking, a few places in front of the hotel but always full, and few options in the area. The paid parking card was expensive (arranged by the hotel) and without a separate bill. During the 5 days of our stay, the carpet floor was "not" cleaned. the remnants of a snack eaten during the first days were still on the carpet in front of the seat when we left.

A bit off the” beaten track” but well worth staying there. Surprisingly easy to get into a huge park, walk to the river, restaurants, traditional pubs and public transport. The reception staff were so helpful, giving maps, directions, suggestions and even cheap public transport options for over 60s - wish we had known about this during our previous hotel stay! For beakfast there was a wide variety of food, all beautifully presented. I loved the waffle maker and the toaster which automatically lowered the bread into it for toasting - clever. Our room was spacious, very comfortable with 2 armchairs as well as a desk chair. The minibar was well stocked and not expensive. It was all very calm and peaceful. The “thank you for staying” gift was a nice touch too. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely a delightful and easy stay. This is one of those rare hotels where everyone seems to really care about their guests. We could not have asked for kinder staff. The included breakfast was better than any we’ve paid for at a hotel, and our room was spacious, sunny, and extremely comfortable. There’s no reason to stay anywhere else in Prague!

This is such an amazing hotel. Both the receptionists were named Jans and they were so friendly and gave us such exceptional service. The rooms were huge, the bed was very comfortable and it had a skylight, huge windows and all the amenities you could ever want. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, so good. Hotel Schwaiger is one of the best hotels I have stayed in all our travels. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat and would have no hesitation in staying there again.

What an amazing stay we had in this hotel...guy in reception sorry cant remember his name but he was working over valentines weekend during the days,he was absolutely fabulous and so helpful. Every hotel needs someone like him . Rooms was nice and very clean with mini bar in it. Breakfast was 5 star...Had champagne breakfast every morning...Very quiet location about 5 min drive in taxi to old town. There is local bar across the street from hotel.we tried beer and local crisps up there and it was lovely and cheap like £1 for pint of beer.I would recommend downloading Bolt app for taxis really handy and much cheaper then getting taxi from the street . One way journey from hotel to old town cost around £3. And to airport would cost u £10. There is 1 thing I would change is TV chanels...1 night we decided to stay in and watch tv but there was no movie channels or show channels to watch...they do have I think 8 english channels but they all were News. I definitely will book with u again if I'm ever in Prague

This hotel was recommended to us by a family posted to Prague for Business. They could not have recommended a nicer hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Wonderful Czech food in the restaurant. Although the hotel is located in the embassy district it is easy to get to the old city by public transportation, particularly with the staff’s guidance. Very clean, comfortable room, well cared for by the staff.

We stayed in this excellent boutique hotel for 5 nights having seen all great reviews on TA. Hotel Schwaiger deserves all these good reviews. It is in the Embassy district. It is pretty close to the center. You can walk to Hradčanská in 10-12 minutes, from where it is possible to take metro or tram to several different places. Metro takes 3 minutes and tram takes 6 minutes to the old town. If you do not want to walk to Hradčanská metro station, you can take the bus number 131 from the bus stop 3 minutes walk from the hotel (most probably some visitors do not know this option and finds it a little inconvenient to reach to metro station Hradčanská). Public transportation in Prague is excellent. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are comfortable and large in European standards, beds are comfy. A very friendly and kind staff. When we first arrived in the hotel, Igor was on duty and he was very helpful; we really appreciated it. Breakfast is perfect. We had an excellent stay, and highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our first two nights so much that we cancelled a past favorite to stay another 2 nights at the end of our stay. Excellent staff who went the extra mile to care for us. The best breakfast of any of our many European hotels. Quiet spacious rooms and comfortable beds.
