Hotel Schwaiger is a 4-star boutique hotel that offers comfortable accommodation for the convenience of those visiting Prague; be it for business or for pleasure. The rooms and their interiors are decorated with a taste of the 1920's (First Czechoslovak Republic) and are designed to satisfy even the most exacting of guests. However, the real treasure of our hotel is a charming garden. Hotel Schwaiger is proud to have re-opened its doors after complete reconstruction in 2017.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

As a 4* hotel, Hotel Schwaiger offers very attractive prices at the time of my booking. So what's the catch in the deal? Did it really live up to my expectation of a 4* hotel?
First the location. It wasn't that much of a good start. It was not within the walking distance of the old town, and the nearest metro/tram stop Hradčanská is 15 min walk away, and it definitely wasn't pleasant to drag your luggage through the cobble stoned pavements uphill and downhill. (it was a good test of how durable your luggage wheels were) There was a restaurant immediately opposite the hotel (as well as the hotel's own restaurant). But other than these if you need other food, or a supermarket or any other shop then you had to go back to Hradčanská.
Being near to Hradčanská has its own advantages. It is very close to the castle hill and it is a very convenient traffic hub to lots of places, including Cesky Krumlov.
So besides the location, were there any other alarm bells? Well in the one night that I stayed (Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions, we could only arrive a few days later and so our stay here was just 1 night instead of 4.) I really couldn't find anything.
We got the attic room and it was spacious, clean and modern. I guess it was more like a penthouse than an attic as I didn't feel cramped there. Even the bathroom was spacious. You got all the modern amenities that you would get in a 4* hotel, including a coffee machine, an electronic safe and some slippers. (Yes you had to climb up the last flight of stairs as the lift could not reach there but that's understandable for an attic room) The beds were comfortable and being in a "remote" location means it was really quiet at night.
I guess the best part of our one night stay was really the breakfast in the next morning. The choices were plentiful and the quality was good, even the fried eggs tasted fresh and seasoned, and you could make your own waffle. It was a shame we didn't have a chance to try out the hotel's restaurant for other meals due to our limited time there.
All in all, if you do not mind the location I think this hotel is perfect.

We were already at the Hotel Schwaiger in 2020 and found the quiet location and the large, beautiful park opposite to be fantastic. Parking spaces are limited, but with the help of the friendly staff you can always find a free parking space within walking distance. The hotel is very dog-friendly; travelers with dogs can have breakfast with their four-legged friends in the restaurant area, the breakfast room is a bit smaller, but very nice, high chairs for children are available. The breakfast is great, fruit, fresh waffles, eggs, coffee to get yourself (latte macchiato, cappuccino, espresso), everything your heart desires and it is constantly replenished. We had our 2-year-old son with us and didn't have the impression for a second that he wasn't welcome. The beds are huge and comfortable, the rooms are large and very clean, we had a room with a bathtub again, and there are free care products. A cot was already set up when we arrived. A bottle of mineral water and a Pikkolo Bohemian sparkling wine were waiting for us at the reception. There are a number of nice restaurants, cafes and wine bars within walking distance of the hotel, and there is also a playground with a large sandpit not far away. The staff are lovely and helpful. Opposite the hotel is a quaint pub with very good local food and fair prices, beer is delicious and there is often live music in the historic building, and there is also a nice beer garden. The culinary highlight this time was once again the meal in the hotel restaurant (V Zahrade); we had ox cheeks and chicken, both of which were delicious (we would come back to Prague again just for this meal). Our son had nuggets with chips. With water, wine and beer we paid less than 60 euros (hotel guests get a discount). The service was great and the restaurant is very tastefully decorated. There is also a large, beautiful beer garden with a play area for children. We can really highly recommend the hotel.

A bit off the” beaten track” but well worth staying there. Surprisingly easy to get into a huge park, walk to the river, restaurants, traditional pubs and public transport. The reception staff were so helpful, giving maps, directions, suggestions and even cheap public transport options for over 60s - wish we had known about this during our previous hotel stay! For beakfast there was a wide variety of food, all beautifully presented. I loved the waffle maker and the toaster which automatically lowered the bread into it for toasting - clever. Our room was spacious, very comfortable with 2 armchairs as well as a desk chair. The minibar was well stocked and not expensive. It was all very calm and peaceful. The “thank you for staying” gift was a nice touch too. Would definitely go back.

Everything is fine, but keep in mind some minuses: The rooms on the second floor have a wooden ceiling and all movements in the upper rooms are CLEARLY heard in the rooms below.... The restorant was closed (for winter it was said). The hotel does not have its own parking, a few places in front of the hotel but always full, and few options in the area. The paid parking card was expensive (arranged by the hotel) and without a separate bill. During the 5 days of our stay, the carpet floor was "not" cleaned. the remnants of a snack eaten during the first days were still on the carpet in front of the seat when we left.

Excellent Hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful for tourists, rooms are nicely furnished and well maintained. Free breakfast was also a nice bonus.
The area around the Hotel is quiet and we always felt perfectly safe walking around even at night. It might be worth staying slightly closer to the city if nightlife is what you’re after - but it’s certainly not a dealbreaker here.
The Hotel itself is around a 35 minute walk away from the city centre. Would recommend using the metro station at Hradcanska (10 mins from hotel) to get into the town. Two stops away and can save you a lot of time and energy! Would avoid doing this at night however, safer to walk.

This is such an amazing hotel. Both the receptionists were named Jans and they were so friendly and gave us such exceptional service. The rooms were huge, the bed was very comfortable and it had a skylight, huge windows and all the amenities you could ever want. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, so good. Hotel Schwaiger is one of the best hotels I have stayed in all our travels. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat and would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Absolutely a delightful and easy stay. This is one of those rare hotels where everyone seems to really care about their guests. We could not have asked for kinder staff. The included breakfast was better than any we’ve paid for at a hotel, and our room was spacious, sunny, and extremely comfortable. There’s no reason to stay anywhere else in Prague!

This hotel was recommended to us by a family posted to Prague for Business. They could not have recommended a nicer hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Wonderful Czech food in the restaurant. Although the hotel is located in the embassy district it is easy to get to the old city by public transportation, particularly with the staff’s guidance. Very clean, comfortable room, well cared for by the staff.

A pleasant stay for the purpose of attending a concert. We got a very nice room 303. The room was cozy, clean and large - water, tea, coffee and cosmetics in the room included. The buffet breakfast was absolutely luxurious. The receptionist was very nice and willing to help with anything. It was not our first time in this hotel, we are happy to return here.

Dera kristyhouson,
thank you for your question.
As Karan P answered you , we are able to organize airport pick up for the price of 25 EUR. In order to organize this service, please contact the hotel directly via email.
The best and most convenient way to O2 arena is by taxi. In the case you would like to use public transport, it takes approximately 30 minutes with transfers. Once you will be at the hotel, our Front Desk staff will be happy to help you either with organizing taxi or explaining public transport.
With kind regards
Martin
Hi Pat, thank you for your question. From Hotel Schwaiger to the city center, for example to Charles Bridge it is aprox. 35 min. (2,7km) by walk or to Prague Castle it takes approx. 30 min. by walk (2,2 km).
Hotel Schwaiger also offers special price of 200,-CZK (approx. 8,-E) for a one way transfer (car up to 4 pax max.) from Hotel Schwaiger to Hotel Pod Vezi (which is located right next to the Charles Bridge).
The nearest bus stop Sibirske namesti is 2 min by walk from hotel Schwaiger, from here you can go by bus approx. 8 min and get to Hradcanska subway station. Or you can walk to Hradcanska subway/tram station and it shouldn´t take you more than 15 min by walk. You can also get to Vitezne namesti (15min by walk) and take a tram there.

Dear pahdylan,
it depends on the day. Weekends are open until around 2am. Other days the bar closing around 23:00.
Local bar across the street is open every day until midnight (but if there will be enough people, they will not close it).
Thank you and see you here,
Draho
Dear mariavM2818WL,
the metro station is about 10min. walk from the Villa, but there is bus stop just around the corner (1min. walk). There is only one bus and takes you in about 2 minutes to the metro station Hradčanská, which is 3 stops from Old Town Square. So from the Villa to the centrum is around 15. - 20. minutes.
Thank you and hope to see you here :),
Draho
