Hotel Iron Gate is a 5 star hotel in a quiet location right in the middle of old town and has 43 apartments/suites around a small courtyard. The rooms are huge, just the lounge of our room was the size of a normal hotel room. Our room, a royal studio, had a beautiful centuries old painted ceiling, a kitchen with...

Iron Gate has great location and the hotel itself is outstanding! My biggest surprise happened actually already back home when I received a 400€ bill to pay! After many phone calls and e-mails trying to figure out what was that ammount due to, I finally found out they were accusing me of stealing some belgian (or whatever) shower robes...When you...

Management response:

Dear guest, I´m finding your comment about „huge lack of honesty from the hotel management” and other problems you have most probably met almost three years ago, as quite unfair towards the present Iron Gate Hotel team and the present hotel. After my investigation based on your E.mail address listed in the comment and based on hotel program history, it...

We have just had a long weekend in this beautiful, very friendly hotel, flying from Bristol. It is a super old hotel with ultra modern facilities (+ cute Bogner restaurant for breakfast). Free DVDs can be borrowed from Reception. The Hotel's in the attractive cul-de-sac of Michalska contains small restaurants, galleries and antique shops. It's a very short walk to...

My boyfriend and I returned from Prague at the weekend, this hotel was beautiful and full of character. It is in a perfect location in the old town. Our suite was lovely, over two floors. The staff were very helpful and friendly with excellent English. I also must say that having read previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive about the...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
