Design hotel Domus Balthasar is a baroque building with medieval foundation and 21st century design, situated on the Royal Route, in the heart of the oldest and most romantic part of Prague - Lesser Quarter (Mala Strana), few steps from Charles Bridge, close to Old Town and Prague Castle. Domus Balthasar is nearly of all most popular sights within easy reach on foot or by tram. Although is situated in the centre, also in a neighborbood of nicest parks. Business centers easily accessible. It is the ideal place for a holiday as well as for an enjoyable business trip. The building's history goes back to the 14th century, though the fittings are either modern or timeless. We do our best to respect history while at the same time respecting the current needs and tastes of our guests. Our interiors are made warm by wooden, atypical furniture with clean lines in dark colours which combines well with the light, creamy tones of the carpets, curtains and other decorations. Hotel has 8 rooms including 2 Double attic rooms, 3 generously spacious deluxe double rooms, 2 Suites with kitchenette and 1 Royal. Please notice our historic house uniquely located within an UNESCO listed World Heritage Site does not have an elevator. Due to a lower ceiling Attic double rooms are not recommended for people taller than 1,80 m/6 feet.

Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

At first we were horrified thats there was no lift in the building. But what the room, bathroom, blanket, heater and cheap mini bar make up for it. And the location, just right in front of Charles bridge gate. Couldnt ask for more.

Dear KK b, thank you so much for your candid comments about our hotel. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. It is pity you did not told us about the breakfast during the stay so we could do something with it. However, we would like to apologize you did not find the breakfast tasteful. Hope to see you again so we can change your mind! :-) Sincerely, Domus Balthasar team

The Charles Bridge would probably be great (and crowded). Up by the castle would also probably be great.

There is a western union beside the hotel entrance. Ask the reception to give you free commission waiver prior to change your money. It opens until 9/10 pm. Enjoy Prague!

Hello, We have air conditioners only in the attic rooms where it becomes really hot during summer. All the other rooms have fans and fairly big windows and we believe it is sufficient. It doesn't get too hot most of the days and as the house we are located in has thick walls made of stone, the temperature there is usually very pleasant.

Dear Mr. Jones, our Suite rooms are located on first and second floor and they have double windows at the mostly quiet Lazenska street. The room consists of one bedroom and one living room with a kitchnette. The bathroom does have a shower and bathtub. I hope I have helped you and in case of any other questions or request please don´t hesitate to ask. Contact us via e-mail with the date of your planned stay and I would be pleased to send you an offer :) Kind regards, Barbora Šandorová
