If you wish to stay in Mala Strana next to Charles Bridge and you are not scared by the amount of tourists as you enter your hotel, this is a charming place. Our bedroom was on the third floor (no elevator, not a problem for us but I prefer to provide the information) and was very nice with a large...

Luxurious, spacious room/suite with large comfortable bed. Large bathroom with separate bath and shower. Everything was clean, service impeccable and the price reasonable. Would be 5 stars except that internet service/wifi did not work for the four days we were there. However, this was partially solved by connecting to the adjacent Bohemian bagle shop wifi with some connectability on the...

The location is fabulous - right at the Charles Bridge! We were on the top/4th floor which I don't really recommend because there's no elevator and the stairs are steep and dragging your luggage up them is not fun. But the room was quite nice - spacious and it had nice character with the slanted roof (the top floor rooms...

Dear Michelle, Thank you for your review and constructive feedback. We are genuinely sorry for your unpleasant experience with breakfast and also fruits in your room. We will definitely focus on these things and checking it even more now. Moreover, we will forward your feedback to Bohemia Bagel. Still, we do appreciate that you liked our hotel and would choose...

This is definitively one of the top locations to stay in Prague. if you leave the hotel, turn right and walk about 150 meters, then you are right on Charles Bridge. The hotel itself is in a historic building, having that very special romantic atmosphere of such places. Unavoidably, this comes with some minor trade offs like the lack of...

We stayed at the Deluxe room on 1/F last week. It's spacious, clean, beautiful with high ceiling. The front desk lady was very nice and kind, she provided us with some useful information :) The location was good and very convenient! Too bad that we couldn't extend our stay in this hotel as it has already fully booked for the...

We spent three nights here with my partner when visiting Prague this spring. Just a few steps from Charles's Bridge, it is a perfect walking distance location for almost all Prague's 'jewels'. The entrance in a form of a big town house gate doesn't really suggest there is a 'hotel' here and even when you get inside, you don't feel...

I travel to Prague often for work and I think I've found my favorite hotel to stay! It is perfectly balanced. It is close to everything (2 main bridges including METERS away from the Charles Bridge tower, Prague Castle, Lennon Wall) without being in the center of Old Town. It is quiet at late night but still sits on the...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Design hotel Domus Balthasar is a baroque building with medieval foundation and 21st century design, situated on the Royal Route, in the heart of the oldest and most romantic part of Prague - Lesser Quarter (Mala Strana), few steps from Charles Bridge, close to Old Town and Prague Castle. Domus Balthasar is nearly of all most popular sights within easy reach on foot or by tram. Although is situated in the centre, also in a neighborbood of nicest parks. Business centers easily accessible. It is the ideal place for a holiday as well as for an enjoyable business trip. The building's history goes back to the 14th century, though the fittings are either modern or timeless. We do our best to respect history while at the same time respecting the current needs and tastes of our guests. Our interiors are made warm by wooden, atypical furniture with clean lines in dark colours which combines well with the light, creamy tones of the carpets, curtains and other decorations. Hotel has 8 rooms including 2 Double attic rooms, 3 generously spacious deluxe double rooms, 2 Suites with kitchenette and 1 Royal. Please notice our historic house uniquely located within an UNESCO listed World Heritage Site does not have an elevator. Due to a lower ceiling Attic double rooms are not recommended for people taller than 1,80 m/6 feet. ... more   less
