Stayed in Hotel Tyl during summer 2005. Room rate was very reasonable. The room was spacious and well-furnished, with the bathroom spotless clean. Amenities were more than sufficient, including a safe in the room. Historic-style cupboards and cabinets even come with their keys. International TV shows were entertaining, and room maids were good (think they did more than they were required). They even ironed our clothes thrown onto the bed due to the morning rush, and folded them nicely under the pillows. Everyday, the hotel guests could get a full continental English Breakfast buffet, which was very delightful with all the pastries, hams, crossiants, yougurts and juices... The other major strength of the hotel is that it has a strategic location - only 5 minutes walk to the nearest Metro Station (I.P.Pavlova Station), and 10 minutes walk to famous Wencelas Square. From Wenceslas Square, you could proceed on to visit the rest of the top attractions on foot. In the vicinity of the hotel, you can also find fast food restaurants and mini-marts, so you will never have to go hungry.
I shall look forward to seeing you again, Hotel Tyl.

Went to prague for 3 days in February.
Hotel was excellent - clean, good quality furnishing, helpful staff & good quality breakfast. I have no real criticism of the hotel and I think is an ideal choice for a short break. We had three nights for the price of two and it only cost £100 in total for two (with Airline Network). I think it is unbelievably good value. I have stayed in five stars hotels, which quite frankly did not match up to the quality of the Hotel Tyl.
It is located literally right next to a tram station & metro. We only used the tram. It cost 8 kronas each one way (about 20p!) - we didn't see anyone else with a ticket on the tram though! Basically you go can go either 4 or 5 stops along and walk the rest. It takes about 5 mins on the Tram to get into the central city! Wenslaslas Square is 5 mins walk from the hotel.
There are a few decent restaurants near the hotel & various types. Wenslaslas has a few as well. We couldn't be bothered to go into the city in the evening, although this was shear laziness! It is very cheap to eat, e.g. a 3 course meal (with drinks) for two cost us between 400 kronas to 800 kronas i.e between £10 to 20 (the £20 was in a tourist trap restaurant and very good quality food).
Weather was cold, but seemed to fit with the location and is what you would expect at that time of year, i.e around 0 degrees at best in midday. I would recommend a hat that covers your ears & scarf. I hate to say it, but I brought long johns & this was the best investiment I made. My wife tells me the other thing I must recommend is comfy shoes, not just because of the amount of walking you will do, but also because of the cobbly streets, which can make walking uncomfortable.
As a city it is architecturally fantastic, one amazing building after the other. Not great shopping though, except if you are into glass / cristal, wooden toys, puppets & other touristy tat. If you are a culture vulture, you will be in your element with the various musuems & places to visit. Personally, I didn't think there was that much to see after the Castle, Charles Bridge, Jewish Quarter & Old Town Square with the Asteriological Clock (you see massive crowds & then the event itself is a disappointing anti-climax). It is all relatively close together.
I would highly recommend Prague for a short visit - two or three days would be plenty - it took us half a day to orientate ourselves, but you can cover all the main tourist sites quite quickly. It has a lovely ambiance though.
One disappointing aspect to Prague was the pleathora of McDonalds & Kentucky Fried Chicken, which seemed to plague the city. Also, there is a Tesco right in the centre! (Not like the same stuff as back home inside). Wenslaslas square has Debenhams, M&S, C&A - like being on the high street at home.
Hope this is helpful.

Superb hotel with large bedrooms and very clean. New towels daily and our bathroom had both a bath and shower, and was also very large. Breakfast consists mainly of rolls, cold meats and cheese, and also fruit and cereal, all of which was ok to start the day.
This small family hotel is approx 15 mins walk from the top of Wenceslas Square and whilst at first we thought this was a bit of a walk, we soon realised that the distance had great benefits in that the bars and restaurants local to the hotel were 1/3 the cost of those in the main tourist area.
Wenceslas Sq and the Old Town are the main tourist areas and you will pay 90 Cz Kr for a beer, but in the bars local to the hotel they are only 30 Cz Kr. Likewise in the 1st night we paid 2200 Cz Kr for a reasonable meal but on the second night at the local Irish Martin's bar (street behind the hotel) we had 2 x superb fillet steaks and plenty of beer for 800 Cz Kr! Even the italian restaurant at the top of the street (turn right out of hotel) gave us both superb food and drink for 600 Cz Kr in total. Everyone in the bars and restaurants seems to speak excellent english so no problem with language.

Myself and my Wife have just returned from the Hotel Tyl in Prague.
What a wondeful hotel in a wonderful city, the hotel has just been completely re-built and re opened in 2003,it was great to see the use of antique furniture everywhere, the furnishings were very opulent and the whole place was immaculate and in a great location for the main sites.
20 yards from the hotel was the main tram stop into the centre although it only takes 10 mins to walk to the top of Wenceslas Square and a further 15 mins gentle walk to the old town square.
The hotel rooms were very large with a king size bed, mini bar and a lovely view over Tylovo Square.
The hotel also has 2 lifts to all floors,a jacuzzi and a gym as well as a lovely bar and a wonderful breakfast room in the old vaulted cellars
We will definatly go back to this hotel.

To All
Just a quick line once again on this outstanding Hotel, my wife and I had another city break at the Hotel Tyl, arriving back last Friday everything from the moment you check in is simply taken care of by the wonderful staff.
The rooms spacious, pristine, the breakfast ranging from cereals, juices, yogurt to delightful cakes etc which is excellent.
With lounge bar and internet and fitness room you cannot fault this Hotel it is delightful.
The Hotel is situated close to the Metro with easy access to airport and all sights, and places of interest.
I and my wife would stay nowhere else in Prague, and we visit three or four times a year.
The key thing for us about this Hotel is the staff they are outstanding and the place is spotless.
If you are visiting Prague this year get off on the right foot and choose the Hotel Tyl you will not be sorry.

We have just returned from a four day break in prague staying at the hotel tyl . I can not praise this hotel enough, although quite a small hotel the rooms were quite spacious and absolutely spotless as was all the hotel .The breakfast although continental was more than adequate. The service we received was first rate.I would recommend for anyone on a first visit to Prague to try and avoid eating out in the restaurants around the two main squares we found plenty of bars and restaurants near the hotel that were a third of the price and just as nice.

Had a brilliant time in Prague staying at the hotel Tyl last weekend.
The hotel had very helpful & English speaking staff.
Our room was very large and clean for a 3 star establishment.
Contacted the hotel for a bottle of champagne & chocolates for our arrival and was not disappointed with the service or cost.
Would highly recommend this hotel for location (only 15 minutes walk to Wenceslas Square) and service.

Had a wonderful time, the staff are so friendly especially Andrea, he gave us so much infomation, and really looked out for us. Best area to stay, about 5 to 10 minute walk into the centre, restaurants very good near by especially the Bonante, only open monday to friday. The rooms were spotless, a little warm but just asked them to turn it down. Breakfast was good. No coffee making facilities but took our own. Free tram to city center outside the hotel. Take a mini bus tour of the city the only way to see it all in a long weekend. Overall a great hotel, with excellent staff, wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Ideally located - 2 mins to the metro and 15 min stroll to Wenceslas Square. The staff were very attentive and courteous. Our room was extremely spacious and well maintained - on par with a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was good and it's a pity that they don't cater for lunch & supper. Then again, there were a variety of restaurants available in the city so it was great fun trying them out. I would definately stay here again on my next visit.

I've no idea I'm not Spanish sorry
I don't exactly know. It would be better to e-mail the hotel directly.
Sure. The hotel is so nice and very clean. Breakfast is also very tasty and good.
We had a limo with a few strippers. If you can't stretch to that I'd suggest a taxi.
Not apartments ....large rooms capable of 3 persons...check with the hotel for up to date rates
