Neighbourhood
Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

This hotel was one of the nicest, most charming hotels we have ever stayed in. The front staff was so kind and helpful. Thank you Honza, Lucie and the other sweet girl whose name I didn’t catch. Our room was huge by European standards with two big windows opening up to a pretty

We loved everything about this hotel, and could not find a single fault. The location in a quiet and picturesque part of Mala Strana was great; we could walk everywhere but were not on top of gangs of late night partiers. The suite was huge, and very well appointed, like having

I will be very brief and apt. This 4-star hotel has perfect location, in the heart of Prague and short walk from Prague Castle. If you arrive by a car, you can park your car safely in the garage, which is located "under" the hotel - this is very comfortable. You will be welcomed

It all depends on how much you want to spend. And you should not restrict yourself to Mala Strana since it is easy and inexpensive to go by taxi to restaurants in other parts of Prague. During our short visit to Prague we ate at: St. Martin which is very close to Appia and inexpensive, 46 pounds for 2 of us La Veranda which is more suitable for an anniversry dinner but still reasonably priced, 86 pounds for 2 of us Mincovna which is another inexpensive place to eat, 57 pounds for 2 of us Bellevue which is on the other side of the Charles bridge and some tables have a view of the bridge. One of the more expensive Prague restaurants where we had dinner on our last night in Prague. Service is exceptional, 149 pounds and by far the most we spent for dinner during our 16 days in London, Warsaw, Krakow and Prague. Congratulations on 10 years and hopefully many more to come. My wife and I are now at 52, having been married in London in 1966 and moved to the US in 1968.

Dear Traveller, Thank you for your question. Yes, Hotel Appia Residences is located away in a small quiet street where traffic is very limited - hence the peaceful location and it is indeed about 10 min uphill walk from the tram stop. However, as the other visitors say if you are not comfortable walking up, you can always go by a taxi or uber. If you wish to book an airport transfer, please contact the hotel via email at appia@hhotels.cz and they will help you organising it for you. We look forward to seeing you soon.
