MY OPINION
A very nice modern apartment, clean, new and very affordable for tourists in a touristy Prague city. By apartment standards, I would rate this apartment as 4 star for its cleanliness, apartment facilities, apartment security assurance, large apartment window and extremely near to Metro, shopping centre in Andel and best of all, lower cost than any other apartments in city centre.

APARTMENT
Fully equipped, 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds each. Sofa bed sleeps 2 person and therefore total occupancy is 6. However, apartment service staff don't really bother with how many staying in the apartment. Each bedroom is very clean with large window opening both top and side way with insulation for winter internal heating. Apartment comes with only 1 bathroom which is very clean, large and has a bathub and heater system. The living room is huge with a tv and an L-shape sofa. It also has a dining table with the kitchen within the living room compound. It has a large fridge and fully equipped kitchen.

LOCATION
Located at the street called Karla Englise, the apartment is not quite visible until you walk along the road and look for the small signboard "Apartment Hotel Angel", not to be confused with the 5 star apartment suite "Andel's Suite" which is just nearby. In fact, Apartment Hotel Angel is located next to a building office "Pfizer".

AMENITIES
- 5 mins walk from Andel Metro
- 200m to Shopping Centre in Andel (huge shopping centre with TESCO, boutique shops, BATA, restaurants etc)
- 1km walk to Charles Bridge
- 100m to tram services
- Nearby restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, western, KFC, MacD, many more)
- Just 3 metro stops away from Old Town Square

STAFF
- Very friendly and English speaking
- Allows storage of luggage
- Reservation accuracy and prepares documents ready for check in.
- Professionalism expected

NEIGHBOURHOOD
- Andel seems like a new establishment with very nice shopping centre. There is also a casino hotel with snooker and billiards.
- If you are taking a trip to Cesky Krumlov (departing at Florenc), the return bus will actually stop at Andel Metro, which means, just walking distance to your apartment. However, not all return buses will do stop at Andel.
- Safe neighbourhood but a lot of dog poo poo.

OVERALL RATING
- Will return to stay for the cleanliness, price and apartment comfort.

This was our first trip to Prague so did not know the areas or what to expect, and we used Trip Advisor reviews to make our booking.
Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly and spoke English well. We entered a separate secure doorway with a concierge. Our apartment was also secure with a double lock! The apartment itself we were very impressed with, a spacious 4th floor double apartment with balcony. Modern furnishings although basic, this suited us.
Unlimited internet with wi-fi in the apartment which was of good quality and this was a big positive for us.
Kitchen:
Nice kitchenette all modern looking, with a kettle, microwave, hob, coffee machine and built in fridge freezer. No toaster though. Plates etc provided, although are a little outdated... And there were no mugs, only small teacups. We ended up going to Tesco round the corner and bought 2 mugs as we like our hot drinks!
Bathroom:
Large bathroom, with toilet, basin and shower. Nice big mirror in front of sink with a light over it. If you want to use the mirror for make up or shaving you may be a little too far away from it (I used my compact). The shower was a small cubicle but with good power and good heat coming through.
Lounge area:
Comfy sofa bed, big coffee table, decent size tv although we could only get a few channels. Small dining table with 3 chairs also in this area which was handy.
Bedroom:
Large room with huge windows. Our double bed was two singles pushed together, but I hear that's standard in Europe, but they were comfortable and bedding was also fine. Two lamps either side of the bed. This was the only furniture in that room though... Our (large!) wardrobe was in the hallway.
Security:
We felt very safe in our apartment. To get in the main building you must have a key or be buzzed in. There is a 24 hour concierge for the building. The apartment had a double lock and the door was thick, nobody would get in easily. We were disappointed at first that we did not have a safe. But we used padlocks on our suitcases. We could also lock a second door into the apartment so that only the bathroom was accessible to cleaners, which we did daily.
Staff:
The receptionists were all very friendly and spoke good English, we dealt with 4 in total. We particularly liked Merick (unsure of spelling sorry) who was very helpful and friendly, he booked a tour for us and helped us with trams, buses etc. He was only too happy to help. When we departed, we left him a bottle of wine and beers as a token thank you gift.
The bathroom was serviced well daily, cleanliness maintained as well as a good stock of loo rolls etc! No complaints here.
Area of Andel:
The apartment was literally a couple of minutes walk to the metro station, and tram stops going in all directions! We didn't realise how central we were, but everything seemed very close, no more than 15-20 minutes to anything in central Prague! I think there was also a bus station round the corner although we never used it.
The road and area the apartment is in is great. Felt safe walking round at night.
In the town just a couple of minutes walk away is a huge shopping centre open from 6am til midnight! Including a Tesco where we did all our shopping, mainly lovely bread and pastries which there are plenty to choose from!
Also a favourite of ours during our trip was a restaurant in the main street called Corleones, nice just even to nip in for a coffee as we did several times, also had food there which was nice and all for a very reasonable price.

All in all, we were very pleased with our stay, particularly considering the cost and location. We will certainly be returning to Prague, and will definitely book Aparthotel Angel again!

This was an excellent find! We read the reviews on TripAdviser and wisely listened to the good reviews. Great value, spacious and clean rooms. The staff were friendly enough. We did laundry in the basement. The location was excellent; very short walk to Metro, groceries, shopping mall, tram, patisseries. They cleaned the rooms daily. Don't look any further for an apartment hotel in Prague. Free wired internet. The satellite TV had few news channels in English.

Horrible hospitality by her. When asked to make my full payment i wasnt sure if i had already done it as i have been travelling for 3 weeks and got my hotel payments mixed up. So i requested the access to the wifi to check my email confirmation. But no! She said i shouldve done it before this n threw at me a copy she printed n asked me to pay. Both tired and shocked, i checked and thought its ok. She then slammed the debit card machine on the desk without a single word! Absolutely unbelievable! All i did was asked for access to the internet. However the encounter was just one off and the hotel is great. Cheap and high standard. Probably the admin cut her wage to make it cheap! Wouldve been a 5star if not for her. This shows that a receptionist holds the image of the hotel to a visitor.

I learnt about trip advisor earlier today, I wish I had earlier.
I stayed in the aparthotel in the first week of June 2010 for 4 days.
During that time, I specifically requested that no cleaners were to enter the room.
The one time the apartment completely empty of people for any period of time, the cleaners entered the room.
When I returned, to my horror, all my money which had been in my room was stolen. In excess of €300.
When I complained to management, they didn't want to deal with me.
The next day, the manager knocked on my door and stored into my apartment.
He marched me out to the balcony and pointed down.
In the garden below were 3 playing cards. THREE CARDS...
He said I was a liar and that the cleaners had to be paid to pick up the three playing cards.
Needless to say he and the cleaners were as guilty as sin and no matter what I said or did, I wasn't getting my money back.

On the actual apartment itself, it is ok but the poor lighting in the corridors at night is dreadful.

Patrick Ryan.

Me and my family stayed in Aparthotel Angel this summer for three days. We were shocked how rude were the staff. When we wanted to change a name on our invoice it took two days to be done. One receptionist from the first day left it for her coleagues to be done, she took all details and another day we were asked to give them the same details again. One of the employee said to her colleague "What a cow"- about me. And when she recognized that I can speak Czech she said "Oh,she can understand czech!".General Manager who was sitting next to her did not say absolutely nothing to her.
When I started to complaint about the service, her colleage was laughting into my face and said "I don´t care, I am not bothered.
Apartment was too hot, microwave did not work and took 2 days to replace it, no cleaning during stay, service very poor. Staff rude, unpolite, arrogant, very, very bad.
I would not recommend this place to nobody.
I am Czech and now I live in England for 4 years. I went for holiday home /to Czech Republic/ and it is sad to see how unprofessionaly they are dealing with customers there. Mostly everywhere in Prague the people were the same. I do not know what could help to show them the right way of dealing with the customers and people generally.

We just returned from the ApartHotel Angel in Prague and we could not have been happier with the room or the staff! As a family of five, this new apartment suited our needs well. We had a large bedroom with the typical European double bed that could be seperated into two twin beds. The living room had two couches which served as twin beds as well. We were provided with a roll-away for our third child. The room also had a nice kitchen with an oven, microwave, fridge and dishes. The room was immaculate and we were given plenty of extra towels for our large family!

Although the hotel was a little difficult to find (even our GPS did not recognize the street address), it was worth the search. It is conveniently located, close to many restaurants and a HUGE shopping center. The Metro station is only a few blocks away.

The staff was helpful and courteous. We needed help with directions as well as information on various sites. Each employee we interacted with answered our questions completely and even made a few phone calls to clarify directions/times/costs.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Prague area!

15 min tram ride to Charles Bridge. Located in the quiet residential area away from the tourist center. Close to a shopping mall, grocery and metro station. The apartment looks new and very clean. It has full amenities of the basic things you needed: flat screen tv, washing machine, kitchen with ref, microwave, water kettle, dishwasher, iron, toiletries and cleaning supplies. You literally just have to bring your clothes and enjoy your stay. It also has a private basement parking.

The host is very accommodating. She even left sausages and beverages in the ref that we could cook during our stay. Just be kind enough to leave a tip so she could replenish the stocks for the next guests.

Overall, had a pleasant stay and very satisfied with the service.

We were in Prague for a few days and this was the first time we stayed in the Andel area which is more of an upmarket business and shopping area. We had an one bedroom apartment which was comfortable and reasonably well-equipped in a basic sort of way. There is a caretaker but no real reception so we had to make arrangements in advance of our check in. Andel metro is very near and quick and convenient for the Old Town plus loads of trams and a taxi will cost you between £4 and £8 according to traffic.

We have stayed in the Andel area before (in Andels hotel which is also very good). We opted for 5 nights self catering this time as we have children aged 5 and 9.

Check in was quick and easy. Staff were friendly and speak excellent English. Our flat was in a modern building next door with a concierge on the front desk, and 3 lifts. The front door was very secure (like a safe door). The communal areas and apartment were spotless, with regular room service. The flat has a good sized living room with modern kitchen area and comfortable sofa beds. Good sized bedroom with lots of storage and bathroom with shower. Laminate flooring throughout. However cable tv was in German but not an issue for us. Apartment has internet router but we didnt use.The apartments were quiet, clean and very secure. Lots of room for a family of four.

Andel-Smichov is a great area to stay in . A Large shopping centre Novy Smichov nearby has loads of shops, a huge Tesco and a food court on the top floor. There are also lots of good restaurants clustered nearby around Andel Metro. We tried Corte di Angelo for pizza pasta and Zlaty Klas for pork knee. Both have non smoking sections. The area around Andel is a good mix of old and modern, and the place is buzzing with locals eating out and shopping, even later at night. It feels really safe and relaxed.

Also great transport links to Old Town and Mala Strana. 5-10 mins Andel Metro and tram or 20 min walk. Loads of trams into town. Our children travelled free (under 10). We also travelled with two pensioners over 70, who travelled free too. Pensioners of any EU country travel free if over 70 or half price if 60-70. I e-mailed Prague Transport (DPP-Website in English). You need to bring a passport photo and passport id and buy an identity travel card (only 20 crowns) Ask for Prukazkou P.I.D. You can buy them in metro stations at the counters for weekly and monthly travel passes, and fill in a short form to get the pass. Our older travellers stayed in the Angelo hotel around the corner and thought it was superb.

I don't smoke myself but noticed ashtrays in the living area. I didn't see any no smoking signs, so am sure you can. There is also a balcony to go onto if you don't want to smoke in the room.
