This isn't the most modern hotel you'll ever stay in, so if you're looking for 21st century living, give this 19th century hotel a miss. What you will find is certainly charming and friendly if a little tired around the edges. The location is perfect for exploring Brno. You can walk everywhere. Including the train station. However, be aware that although it will only take you about 10 minutes on foot, it's all uphill from the station to the hotel and it's all along cobblestones. If you have luggage (and especially luggage with wheels) you may want to hop a taxi for the very short ride. It's an old property that almost feels like a museum. I rather liked that as it was in the old town and thus felt very appropriate. Nice staff and relatively good English spoken and understood. There are only four floors of rooms, so it's a small hotel with a cosy feel. Rooms are large and mine came with stained glass windows and a highly decorated ceiling. It was like being in a chapel. There were two single beds pushed together, a desk, a small table, two hard chairs, a flat screen TV I never used, a minibar and fridge, a coffee maker with no coffee and space for hanging clothes. Not much space for luggage. The beds were comfortable and had clean linens. The bathrooms are a bit creaky and could do with a big overhaul. Lots of cracks and stains in all the enamel and slow draining sinks. The shower head needed replacing, but the water pressure was good. It was nice to have a bath tub. Soap, shampoo, bath gel, cotton buds and sewing kit are all provided, but the housekeeping forgot to replenish any of them. Towels are old and quite badly torn, but certainly clean. Breakfast has a good selection, although the hot food was very unappetizing. I stuck to the breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, etc and avoided the rubber scrambled eggs and fatty bacon. The 'fresh' fruit had seen much better days. The oranges might have been there when the hotel was built. My only concern was that whereas I was masked the whole time and so were the staff, none of the other guests bothered and they were all fingering the buffet. I was surprised the staff didn't take action. Really worrying in these times. There's not great soundproofing between rooms. Some of the guests behaviour was quite audible at times and others seemed to be insomniacs having spirited activity and conversation at quite bizarre hours. I got a good rate and it is a high end stay, albeit one quite antiquated. The WIFI was very good and free. I see some folks moaning about power points, but I didn't find that an issue in my room at all. For exploring Brno and getting a feel for the city, this hotel is a very good option.

We stayed in Royal Ricc hotel from 17/9 to 19/9/21. We registered to the hotel after checking your site and getting a very good impression from the beautiful photos of the rooms and all the other facilities. Upon arrival we got room 101. That time the good impression disappeared. We found a room without mirrors except the small one in the bathroom above the sink. There were no visible electric sockets and that why the T.V. and side reading lamps were not connected. Also, it was impossible to connect the electric kettle. In order to find a place to charge phone batteries we had to move furniture away from the walls. In the bathroom there were no a glass partition or a curtain to avoid water from spilling all over while showering (I saw on the wall signs that a partition was there in the past). Worst of all was the job of housekeeping, instead of replacing the used towels they just folded them and returned back disregarding it was not clean and though we put them on the bath according your directions. They also didn't replenished used glasses. Royal Ricc is a hotel with a high potential but after such an experience we will think twice if to recommend it to others. We wrote all this to the general manager burt there is no response. May be they don't care.

Great location in the heart of the old town close to restaurants, bars and the church kind service Good breakfast The rooms lack accessible electrical outlets, furniture must be moved to reach the outlet Different sizes of room for the same price, in one of the rooms the small TV is placed on the same wall of the bed, i.e. you can not watch TV while lying in bed. There is a coffee set that includes a kettle with a cable so short that it cannot be plugged into an outlet Limited lighting, dark room The TV works but you cannot select channels There are no curtains for shading the morning light The shower head is located at an angle that requires a hand grip or flooding of the bathroom There is no stand to put a suitcase The bed is comfortable, the room is spacious The hotel has historical features and stained glass windows

Life is getting back to normal and tourism(internal at least) is going back to normal. I've decided to go to Brno to a beer fest, and to stay at tthjis hotel The location is great, stuff is very pleasant, brekfast ins not buffet but very full. In the room there is everything you need (exept bathroab). Also there was no wate in the coffe machine so I spoiled one capsule. Would recommend. Hopefull the price won't gro much after everything would be back

This small hotel is in a perfect location by the central square. It is an historic building full of features. The floors are brick, walls are painted and gold leaf is everywhere. Our room had an old tiled stove and painted beams. The staff were attentive and helpful. We were the only guests before coronavirus hit and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming, laying on a full breakfast for the two of us. The four stars are only awarded as the hotel could not be judged on it's true performance. We can't wait to return when things are back to normal, and again would like to thank all the staff for evrything.
