Hotel Royal Ricc is situated right in the centre of the Moravian metropolis Brno on Starobrnenska Street, which is one of the oldest streets in the city. This four-star hotel prides itself on a rich family history reaching all the way back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The name itself indicates the style and quality of the hotel's services - Royal Ricc offers a cosy and romantic environment with royal services.. The renowned gothic cathedral Petrov, a picturesque Zelny trh (Vegetable Market), and the Spilberk fortress are in the close proximity of the hotel. Thanks to its location and high quality services, the hotel is much sought after by many important and famous personalities coming to Brno. The hotel is luxuriously furnished and fully air-conditioned. Its interior very gracefully combines functional furnishing with Old Masters paintings and wall frescoes. This provides the perfect setting for a relaxing romantic getaway as well as a professional business trip.

The hotel has an excellent location in the centre of Brno, the tram stop in the direction of the Main Railway Station is about three minutes walk away. It is located in a historical building with atmosphere, among the four and five-star hotels in the centre of Brno, this is the most affordable. My room and bathroom were well equipped including coffee machine, I missed only a teakettle. All was clean. The breakfast buffet was rich. The hotel had no restaurant or bar, but I didn't miss either, there are plenty of options in the centre of Brno. The staff were helpful and friendly.

I have two objections. Most of the 4 and 5 stars hotels nowadays use card to open the rooms, whereas at the Royal Ricc you still lock your room with a key, which you must hand at reception. So, for example, if one forgets something in the room and comes back, has to ask for the key again... But it is not the main trouble. The second objection is more fundamental: When I arrived, it turned out that the elevator wasn't working. My room was supposed to be on the third floor. I couldn't imagine dragging my luggage up the stairs and there was no person in the hotel to help me, only a lady at reception. Eventually she found a room on the ground floor that suited me, it had a view of the courtyard, but I didn't mind, I didn't come to Brno to look out the hotel window. However, I would consider it right and polite that when the hotel knows that the elevator will not run for a longer period of time (which was the case here), they notify the clients in advance so that they can take it into account or make a different decision in time - after all, someone older might not be able to walk to a higher floor even without a luggage.

This elegant hotel is located at one minute walking distance from the main square (with the kraut market) and less than 10 minutes walking distance from the train station. This makes it a really wonderful location for tourists: restaurants, bars, tourist attractions and shops are all very near. We also really appreciated the breakfast, which is very rich, with plenty of options for every kind of taste. They also offer crepes, which we really liked. The staff is helpful and really hard-working. Especially during breakfast we got the impression that they have to work a lot (there were many customers).
One negative aspect was that during the night from our room we could hear the noise and screams coming from a restaurant nearby.
However, we recommend this hotel for a trip in Brno

Royal Ricc had seen its best times some years ago. Right now it is an old style hotel in the city center without parking. The rooms are decorated in retro style with beautiful graphical paintings on the walls. Despite the fact that hotel is in the city center, it has good sound isolation. The beds are comfy, AC is working, minibar is available. Breakfast had a few good options but might be not as diversified as in Best Western International. Check in and check out was fast, AmEx is accepted.

Staircase is poorly painted, some parts of the painting fell off. I had a bath in my room but it was old with some signs that it should be renovated. When I contacted the reception with some requests concerning taxi or restaurant reservation, I had to wait for a couple of days for a reply and finally sent a reminder. A lady at the reception did not know, when the breakfast is. When you leave the room, you have to keep the key from your room at the reception. I did not like the fact that TV is automatically switched on, when you enter to room.

Receptionists speak English. Our room was on the third floor which means a small window only. The elevator was out of order and the staircase is not royal quality especially when you have to bypass some cleaning staff and mechanics for the evelator. The room and the bathroom were big and clean. The bed was good, not the sloppy mattress you usually get in a hotel. The floor in the room was strange, old-looking carpet and bricks. Breakfast was good and many options to choose from except anything for people with intolerancies: I'd expect at least some plant based milk - maybe they give you if you ask for it (didn't try). There is no parking option, if you have a car there is a garage - 15 minutes walk away! We should have paid more attention to it. Even though we booked a week earlier, they confirmed it when it was not free to cancel and mentioned the no parking. On foot many things are close like the castle, a great chili shop (called Word of chili) or an amazing restaurant (Vittorio).

This small hotel is in a perfect location by the central square. It is an historic building full of features. The floors are brick, walls are painted and gold leaf is everywhere. Our room had an old tiled stove and painted beams.
The staff were attentive and helpful. We were the only guests before coronavirus hit and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming, laying on a full breakfast for the two of us.
The four stars are only awarded as the hotel could not be judged on it's true performance.
We can't wait to return when things are back to normal, and again would like to thank all the staff for evrything.

Once we got to the Royal Ricc, we were VERY happy. EXCELLENT location that was an easy walk to SO much (well, except to parking). The rooms were as beautiful as advertised and the beds were quite comfortable for sleeping. The breakfast was solid ... not bad but nothing to excite one (but no complaints). Most of the staff spoke some English so interacting with them wasn't an issue if you spoke no Czech. My ONLY complaint about them was that on several occasions, I wrote to them for assistance on various topics and response was quite slow or even non-existent. Bear in mind that this a traditional Old World hotel (as in you leave your key at the front desk on your way out and picked it up on your return) but usually these are the ones with top notch service to help them stand out. But would I return to stay there if I were in Brno? Probably so.

This hotel is in a great location and the breakfasts are very good. The room was very clean. The atmosphere is on the dark and heavy side. My room had a coffee machine but no coffee and the internet didn't work. The receptionist was unconcerned about this and advised me to use the internet in the lobby. I couldn't get the TV to work. The sheets looked like they came from the second-hand store.

Life is getting back to normal and tourism(internal at least) is going back to normal. I've decided to go to Brno to a beer fest, and to stay at tthjis hotel The location is great, stuff is very pleasant, brekfast ins not buffet but very full. In the room there is everything you need (exept bathroab). Also there was no wate in the coffe machine so I spoiled one capsule. Would recommend. Hopefull the price won't gro much after everything would be back

It was a pleasant stay in the lovely city of Brno. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, everything clean.
The room decoration is fantastic and the location is near everything in the old town.
The only complaint I have is that our room window was on the side of a bar, some noise in the evening, but it did not spoil our stay.

the room was very charming, even though the lighting was not very good if you wanted to read and the shower not really modern. Good breakfast is served, and the staff is very friendly. Centrally located close to everything.

Thank you all for the info provided. I travelled to Brno via Vienna and used the Student Agency buses to get to Brno. From their station in Brno we started walking to the Royal Ricc Hotel, as we could not find any taxis. After about 5 minutes walk we managed to find a taxi and so we used it to get to the hotel as we each had a large suitcase as well as a handbag. Once again thank you all.
