Want to start off by saying the room and hotel is lovely and the decor is amazing and clean. On the other hand however the food was a massive disappointment. Me and my Girlfriend had a meal at around lunch time which we had the zurek soup for a starter, as We love zurek soup we jumped at the idea so we ordered a bowl each, much to our disappointment it was like eating a bowl of salt and mushroom purée, the egg was stone cold sat on top of the soup and there was a meatball type thing next to it which was equally as salty, We both had a few spoonfuls and decided we couldn’t eat any more of it. Disappointed as we were we were still looking forward to our sharing main course platter which consisted of chicken wings (3 of them), cheese bites and mozzarella sticks, calamari, onion rings and fries. Unfortunately this was just as bad if not worse than the soup. The wings were hard on top and soggy on the bottom and greasy, the cheese bites were virtually tasteless, the mozzarella sticks were soggy, limp and very very greasy again there was no taste to them just rubber. The calamari was bland and rubbery with no seafood taste at-all just batter. Same thing goes for the onion rings as I don’t think there was any onion in there at all. All in all the food just tasted frozen for the main course and the soup was just packed with salt. According to the manager this is how the food is served to all customers so I wouldn’t visit here for food if I was you as if that is the quality all the time it is awful.

The location in general is great: 2-5 minutes on foot to bars, restaurants and attractions. But avoid rooms to the side of the construction site. They build a lot of new houses right in front of the hotel. Work will last 4 more years, I think. It´s really noisy on this side of the hotel. They stop working in the evening, but start at around 7.30am - even on saturdays.

The Hotel is excellent in many ways but unfortunately one or two experiences we had meant I could only mark it as very good !
Start with the bad. We arrived after 3 the recommended time for check in but were told “ the system was down “ so the hotel was unable to check anyone in. I saw one family with a young child checked in ( which I found totally acceptable ) but then I saw a smart young business type gentleman also checked in. There were several other guests sat about like us getting no additional information. I had to ask why the single guy had been checked in and was told it was because he had checked in online the previous day. This was not made clear when we first arrived. I suggested some of the receptionists that were stood around looking at their screens actually went along the corridors checking which rooms were actually empty and cleaned so guests could be put into those rooms or simply work with housekeeping to establish what rooms were clean and available. The answers I were given did not really add up. We eventually put our cases in the store room and wondered around the city for a couple of hours. We returned to a long line of guest checking in.
Another issue is the building work at the back ( main entrance ) of the hotel, this did not cause us any problems but the fact it is going on should be made clear to potential gusts before and not after a booking is made. It is a large project going full length along the street. Again the fact that the pool etc is chargeable was only made clear to me after the booking was made.
Our standard room was excellent if a little tight in places. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower and bathroom ( no tub ) adequate room for luggage, safe, tea & coffee and a very modern tv with loads of Chanel’s, a few in English.
The location is great, by the river with lots of good restaurants along the way.
Staff were pleasant although some receptionists looked away every time I walked by. Took us about 25 minutes by taxi to reach the airport ( 101 zlotty ) at 4.15 am. The taxi was booked for me by Dawid on reception ( Thank you ).
I would recommend the hotel and would stay there again myself just a shame about check in, which was no fault of the staff although I believe it could have been handled better ( we were not even offered a soft drink just told to sit and wait ).

Room Tip: Rooms facing the river would have a excellent vue. Main entrance is at the back not on the river...

2 nights stay chosen for relaxation and rest in a strategic position in the old town center - I can sum up as a HUGE disappointment. The only positive aspects: room size and the view from the window. As for the rest: bathroom and room was poorly cleaned, used toilet paper left with just a few sheets in a 4 star hotel... Spa and Pool area very small with cold water in the swimming pool, so you just can't relax, in the gym the water was finished and not refilled. Further more, when leaving we found the elevator broken with no information, no one answering the phone so we had to use the stairs to bring down our luggages, we had just one breakfast which was awful, cold, old bread and pancakes, no dishes for people with glutine and lactose intolerance and very very expensive, so we decided to do not include 2nd breakfast as we had it outside, but in the final invoice we found it counted and we had to proof that we had no breakfast. More than that I had asked for the charger adapter and I left it in the room. I was asked why I didn't bring it back even if I left it on the desk. When putting in the car luggages by our own the personel was putting on us a lot of pressure to be fast?!?!? Even if they were supposed to carry the luggage for us. To sum up in 2 days we experienced more disappointment that we could imagine when choosing a top hotel in Gdańsk. Thankfully we moved forward after 2 days... It was by far enough, we would not recommend to anyone.

This hotel has turned out to be a big disappointment. I had booked four nights in standard room as it was the only option without their SPA access. I had no desire to use their pool or anything else in their SPA. I have requested two twin beds (at the time of reservation and at the front desk during check in). The entry to the room was the first challenge. The door was super heavy and it took a lot of force to open it. Please note, that if you travel with children or seniors, they will be not able to open those doors (especially from the inside). The room itself has turned out to be a shoebox size with queen size bed in the middle of it and literally taking the entire space. Despite of my requests, it was one bed with one duvet and 4 pillows. The room had one window overlooking ugly atrium. You could get a glimpse of sky and perfect view of other guests staying in their rooms about 30 feet away. Do not get fooled with hotel pictures online. 80% of the rooms have no view or view of massive construction happening across the street.
The room service has been performed on daily basis but tea, coffee for the coffeemaker have not been replenished. Should you leave your room key card in electricity switch (in order to re-charge your electronics), it will be removed and taken away. If you decide to take a shower, remember to take your glasses and magnifying glass inside the cabin. Whoever has designed those little bottles with shampoo, conditioner etc. must have decided, that writing in 5 languages is way more important than actually properly indicating if you hold in your hand body wash or small bottle of vodka.
There are so many other issues with this place, that it would take days to describe. The bottom line is, that this is a merely 3 star hotel, pretending to be a luxury one. There are a lot of hotels in 5 minute walking distance and I am pretty sure, that all of them offer better accommodation than Radisson Hotel & Suites.
As for Expedia VIP Gold members, your status gives you there absolutely nothing. Do not count on any upgrade (the hotel had only probably 20% occupancy, so there had to be much better rooms available. The advertised one time discount for food is pretty much meaningless as there are hundreds of restaurants nearby with much better menu and lower prices.
At the checkout I have asked the front desk attendant about the size of the room. The answer was, that I have booked a standard room and it was provided to me. This means, that standards at Radisson Gdansk are very low and you should try to stay somewhere else.

Dear adamhW4839XZ, Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to write about your experience. We are really sorry that our hotel did not meet your expectations. Doors to the room meet fire protection requirements, and safety in our hotel is the most important. Our rooms in general have viewed to the Chmielna Street, to the atrium or to the River View. Standard room do not have viewed to the river. Information provided on the bottles with cosmetics are really important because our Guests may have some allergies, and we must inform what are the ingredients of the liquid. Upgrades are subject to availability, if we have free rooms we are giving an upgrade, but it is not always possible. Nevertheless, we sincerely hope to see you soon again, so that your experience might be even better than the last time. Yours truly, Weronika Kmieć, Guest Relation Specialist Radisson Hotel & Suites, Gdansk

We arrived at 2am on a Saturday morning straight from the airport and we were told by the staff on reception that there was an issue with the online system as a wire had been vandalised at the front of the hotel. They told us that due to this they were unable to tell us what room had been assigned to us and that they would not be able to activate a key card anyway.

We asked what our options were and two members of staff shrugged their shoulders and said that we could wait in the reception area but that it may be sorted in 1 hour or 5 hours and that they had no way of knowing. We were not offered anything in way of courtesy and when asked if we could have something from the bar to eat or drink while we waited we were told no.

We were left with little option but to go on foot and try to find alternative accommodation at 2.30am.

We ended up paying over double what we had budgeted for due to this inconvenience and we were not even offered an apology for the inconvenience caused.

AVOID!

We booked this hotel just for the spa and payed extra for it. When arriving we was told the spa was closed but we could book a full/part body massage instead.
Went up to the room and later on to the spa reception - there we were told that this would cost us extra and not at all was a compensation for the closed spa.

Besides that the breakfast was not worth the money at all, the sounds from rooms around us were heard all night, the temperature was too hot and when we reduced it the thermostat went wild and turned on/off all night.

The location is great, but besides that nothing was really good.

Dear RobinLarsson123, Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to write about your experience. Information about the swimming pool appeared on all our sites more than a week before closing. We tried to inform all the guests of the inconvenience and suggested a change of date. I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding, but massages are a paid service. Thank you for reporting inconvenience in the room, all comments have been reported to our managers. We are available at the reception 24 hours a day and are happy to help. I hope you will come back to us again and your next stay will be even better than the previous one. Kind Regards, Weronika Kmieć Guest Relation Specialist

The hotel website sells you images of a modern hotel with lovely views over a canal.

What they don’t tell you or show in the pictures is that the more modern part of the hotel overlooks a building site and work starts at 6am. So whilst my room was very modern I’d rather not be having to listen to building work noise from 6am and when I opened my window you get a rancid smell from the building site directly opposite

So if you book make sure you get a room the other side of the hotel!

I have been member of Radissons Membership Program from the time it was called Goldenpoints (later Club Carlson) and during the last years I was really lamenting how and excellent value-per-money program was slowly loosing its benefits and attractiveness. I started to test other chains and slowly went all the way down to simple Club Status. I was reluctant to stay this time in this chain, but some kin of melancholy hit me when I received a very extense, proactive and friendly answer from the front desk regarding my questions about conditions and services during this special Covid19 period. I decided to give it a chance again and I was the best decision I took so far this year. For the first time since years, I felt again that they appreciate loyalty. I got a superb room and everything was done to turn my stay, even of just one day, the most enjoyable possible. Thanks Michalina and the Front Desk Staff, you are awesome!

I travel a lot and it is quite rare to get as bad service as in this hotel. We had requested a room with a double bed and got a room with single beds for persons with special needs, meaning that in this room there were no chairs, the bathroom was not nice at all water flooding after the shower etc. There were no bathrobes in the room and when I asked about this, the receptionist told me that they do not have bathrobes in rooms. However, in the spa reception I was told that they should be in the room (and this is what they are saying in room description, too). The room's air conditioning is very noisy too, so if you want to have a good night sleep, do not recommend this hotel.

The view is nice and breakfast is good. However, paying almost 200 € in Poland for this kind of experience is insane. There are many other nice hotels in Gdansk where you get a much better experience, like Hilton. This was my first stay, and there will not be a second one.

Dear Toni P, thank you for leaving an opinion that points the beauty of our location we also enjoy observing. Especially, by the delicious meal we serve at our breakfast restaraunt. We are sorry to hear that the person checking you in did not inform you about the specifics of the room. Recently our supervisor has created procedure for such situations. It is indeed the standard in our hotel that bathrobes are not in the room, but can be brought on guests' request. We apologise for inconvenience caused by AC noise, we will consult with the Technician Department. Kind regards Front Office Agent Aleksander Radisson Hotels & Suites
