Very nice hotel. Right in the center of Gdansk. All the staf are very friendly. We had a great time. And if you eat in their restaurant The Flying Dutchman you will get a discount on your bill. By the way the food was delicious. We ate there 3 nights 😋 we did enjoy the weekend in Gdansk and even went to the beach of Sopot. Also a nice place to go when it's sunny.

I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Holland House. The location on the main historic street is unbeatable, and the exposed wooden beams and dark furnishings in the rooms creates a unique historic atmosphere.

The reception is on the first floor, requiring guests to walk through a restaurant to get to the hotel, which is a strange experience on a busy night. The breakfast is also severely lacking. There is no vegan or gluten free options available other than a small bowl of chopped fruit. I paid extra for a continental breakfast - which this was not. The waitress at breakfast seemed apologetic that they could not cater for my dietary requirements, but for a 4 star hotel, this isn't really good enough.

Room was clean which is always a bonus. Staff were helpful and accommodating. no air con but this didnt bother us as it wasnt too hot on our stay and with the window open we still slept really well. FANTASTIC location. Right next to the Hard Rock Cafe and 2 minutes walk to all the restaurants on the river.
Would recommend the hotel supplying 2 pillows per person/per single bed as for me, one isn't enough. Would also recommend washing the cases on the decorative pillows as I attempted to use this as second pillow but it didn't smell too fresh to decided against.
Would recommend to friends and family as long as not in the height of summer due to the no air con.
Great location for sight seeing and good value for money!

Stayed here a Sunday and Monday night in a preiumim room. I will start by saying the room was lovely (room 209) with a nice view over the long market. The food was also nice at the restauraunt (both breakfast and the evening meal)

I mentioned the room had a view over the long market and this is where the problems started. The long market is bustling so you expect a bit of noise the trouble was it went on all night.

The Sunday night the music from the bars and restraunts outside stopped about 11:30pm. So just had to listen to all the people shouting and laughing. Despite it only being 20c the room was very warm (and as stated by the hotel there is no aircon) There was no way you could have kept the window open as the noise would be unbearable. So had to put up with the hot room and people shouting throughout the night.

Then on Monday at 7AM sharp the nearby clock went mental and started bonging like there was no tomorrow and the council were out powerwashing the street with a very loud pressure washer ! Safe to say we didn't get much sleep.

That night we tried to get some sleep about 11:30PM but the music didn't stop. It kept going and got louder. So loud that the room was vibrating. It was either coming from the adjoining restauraunt or the night club oposite. Wake me up before you go-go at 2:30 AM is not fun. Still this was better than the bass of the dance music that followed it. I'd had enough I went to see the receptionist and asked if she could do something about the music. She said because it wasn't them there was nothing she could do. I asked to be moved to another room at the rear of the hotel she said that she couldn't do that and it would be just as bad. So I asked how long it was likely to go on for she replied sometimes until about 4AM. (It seamed this was not a one off !)

So we just had to suck it up. The music did stop around 3. The people didn't they were talking, laughing and moving tables round for the next hour or so and then the street burst into life at 7AM again.

When I went to check out later that day the hotel asked me for more money for the city tax !!!! I politely declined to give them anymore money even though it was only a small amount it was the principle of being asked for money after that.

I complained to Expedia and they contacted the hotel to ask for some refund and the hotel declined. So here we are.

No advance warning of the issues we might face, despite the hotel clearly being aware of the noise issues and nothing done to attempt to address the issue when it was raised probably the worst sin of all by a hotel.

So if you are out all night and looking for a place at the heart of it all this is for you.

If on the otherhand you want to sleep or a hotel that at least attempts to sort out your problems then this place isnt for you and you should avoid at all costs.

Dear Philip, we appreciate your honest opinion. It is great to know that the room was lovely for you and that you enjoyed our restaurant offer. We are very sorry for all the inconvenience. Gdańsk is a very vivid city, there is much going on and it can be loud sometimes. I really do understand that noise can be annoying. Unfortunately, that was the outside noise/music and we have no option to force turning off the music in other pubs and bars. Nevertheless, I hope that you will take our hotel under consideration for your next visit to Gdańsk. Kind regards,

I visited this hotel with my family for the second time in two years. We loved the spacious rooms, the staff were always friendly and the location is fantastic.

My visit this time was somewhat tainted after i discovered after I left I had left an expensive shirt and jumper in the wardrobe of room 404. I contacted the hotel and offered to pay any fees to have the items returned or arrange pick up as i have family in Gdansk but after checking the room (only a couple of days after leaving) they informed me they did not find anything in the wardrobe. They told me the room was cleaned shortly after i left and as such I was concerned that either they were not owning up to having placed my clothes within a bin or someone had taken the items for themselves. There is very little you can do living in another country with an issue like this however it has made me reconsider booking for a 3rd time as im not convinced the staff are completley trustworthy.

Dear Rona, thank you for your second visit and for taking the time to share your review. I am delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay and that our fantastic location, spacious room, and friendly staff provided a wonderful setting for your visit to Gdansk. At the same time, I am very sorry that you have lost your clothes. We checked that twice and unfortunately nothing was found in the wardrobe in your room. The maids have been working in our hotel for more than 5 years and are trustworthy. I really hope that you will take our hotel under consideration for your next visit to Gdańsk. Kind regards,

Firstly the location of this place is great, right on Dlugi Targ and mid way between the Xmas markets and the riverside areas. You’re literally in the heart of the action and the price for 3 nights was excellent. The room was clean and spacious but very very warm on arrival (a nice contrast to outside but a little too hot). We didn’t have breakfast here but did have drinks on the terrace outside. Good service and lovely location with heaters provided. TV in the room was very small and had one English speaking channel that was just news. Not a big deal but it’s nice to have access to a few English channels or even Netflix in this day and age. There’s a well stocked mini bar in the room but again we didn’t use it.

The only issue we had was on check out when they tried to charge us for bedding they claim they’d had to throw away. This was completely out of the blue and neither of us could for the life of us think what this was about. When challenged the reception staff had no details of this alleged damage even after making a phone call to housekeeping staff could provide no details. They ‘waived’ the charge not that we would have paid it but it left a very sour taste about our stay and for this I couldn’t recommend it. If you do stay take some pictures of your bedding before they’re changed or you may find yourself in the same position

The authentic old building is located on one of the main streets/pedestrian areas of the historic city centre with the train station a 15min walk away. The building itself is beautifully restored with dark wooden beams on the ceiling and a historic feeling to it. There was even a minibar. Hairdryer, kettle with complimentary coffee/tea were also available. The bed was comfy and I slept very well. I found the bathroom very modern and especially the shower was very good.
The staff was multilingual and helpful.

As it was the week before christmas all the areas around the hotel were beautifully decorated. I absolutely loved staying here!

Hotel location fantastic. However, came down to breakfast and they did not have any coffee, yes no coffee!!!!!
Rooms are too warm, but we’re able to open the windows as we stayed in a back room.
At check out they tried to add on extras. Please check your bill when checking out.
Definitely not a 4 star.

Dear Eileen, thank you for taking the time to share your review. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. We are very sorry for the inconvenience on the breakfast - we forwarded your message to the restaurant manager. The room heater has regulations, you can even turn it off if there is too warm in the room. At the checkout, we kindly asked you to cover the costs of the towel that had persistent stains from the makeup (there was a special small washer for that purpose). Due to your strong objection, we have refrained from charging the costs. . We truly hope to welcome you back. Kind regards, Anna - Manager

Large room, no AC, the wi-fi is non-existing. Talked to reception and they said they would re-start the router, felt like a standard answer and, needless to say, still didn't work. Not very serviceminded staff. Overpriced breakfast (not included) so we don't know the quality of that. I will not book this hotel again.

My partner and I stayed in Holland House in March 2019 (not June 2019; computer says "No"). We had never been to Poland before, let alone Gdansk, and had no idea what to expect; we went solely on a friend's recommendation. And he only went to Gdansk because he stuck a pin in a map.

Holland House is FANTASTIC! It could not be more centrally-located for the main square, the Green Bridge area, Mariacka Street, 'Amber Alley' etc. It's very clean, the rooms are very spacious, the food is great; the breakfasts are brilliant. The staff are multi-lingual. Not only will we stay there again, but we look forward to it. (My partner was due to stay in HH in March but CV19). 5 stars from me. Can't recommend it highly enough.
