Very, very pleased with the hotel that we stayed 3 nights during our visit to the beautiful city of Gdansk. Good and quick response on our mails with questions before our arrival, they organized a taxi to pick us up at the airport, convenient online check-in and on my request a bottle of Prosecco was placed in a ice bucket on the room at our arrival.

Good and decent breakfast and close proximity to the Gdansk Old Town.

A small problem our first night trying to order from the 24 h room service, was handled very professional by the staff and they followed up the matter the next days. Very pleased with how the handled it. Kudos to you :-)

The only small minus was that they closed the bar at midnight, but you could still order from the 24h menu to take to the room.

Highly recommend the hotel for your next stay in Gdansk.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very easy to get too and find, about a 15 minute walk from the main station most of which is direct. The building height dominates all around it, so just look up and you will probably see it. It is in a good location being very close to other city attractions such as the old town (10 mins away), restaurants, convenience stores etc. Check is was prompt and welcoming. Large lobby with lift and stair access to rooms.

The room itself was large, and whilst showing some small signs of age, was befitting of what was advertised. Bed was large, although had a memory foam mattress which isn't my favourite type as they can make turning during the night difficult. Bathroom was clean and modern, with good shower pressure and had a heated floor. Room was kept spotlessly clean each day, kudos to the housekeeping team. Free water refills were available from dispensers at the end of each floor's corridor.

I had breakfast each morning and this is probably the single biggest let down of the hotel. I know hotels try to minimise food wastage, and portion sizes therefore, but this I felt is quite the extreme. Not quite sure why only dessert plates were available and the cup sizes for hot drinks were among the smallest I've seen any hotel use yet! The buffet hot food trays were quite shallow so couldn't hold much, meaning they ran out quite quickly. No scrambled eggs or beans on offer both mornings that I stayed. I did wait for about 20 mins to see if they were replenished but nothing. In terms of what else was on offer it was okay - they had the usual cold foods, cereals, fruits etc. Seating was also plentiful and didn't have trouble finding a seat for myself at peak times.

The hotel staff were quite friendly.

We (a family of two adults and 4 young people 13 - 17, all girls) stayed here late July 2022.
From first contact at reception to check out a week later our experience was fantastic. I’ll say this right now, we’re going back!
The staff could not be more helpful. The location is ideal for the cultural sides of Gdańsk and the numerous dopamine producing retail opportunities around the cities.
The rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed. We prepaid for breakfast and weren’t disappointed. At the time of our visit, apparently, breakfast ice cream was a thing! Naturally, I would never normally consider such decadence but the salty caramel ice cream was overpoweringly good and so I invoked the tourist rule of “to hell with it, I’m on holiday” and indulged myself everyday!
We did have a problem with one third party booked via reception which went wrong (not the fault of ourselves or reception) but our customer relations manager stepped in and arranged a cheaper alternative for 24 hours later. Happy guests!
Taxis to and from the hotel (including airport and Sopot as well as local) never went above $12. Book them via the apps “Freenow” or “Bolt”. Be warned that the Polish style of driving is, shall we say, enthusiastic.
If you’re going in Summer, ask at reception about the music from St Catherine’s (I think) on Sunday night at 9pm. Grab a libation and sit in the garden behind the bar. There, you will find your new happy place. You’re welcome!
If you’re still umming and erring, don’t. Just book. You won’t be disappointed.

Wow! The Mercure was quite a treat! Everything was quite comfortable and the staff could not have been more accommodating. On arrival, Celine was most helpful. Throughout the stay other staff members were equally wonderful, such as Klaudia and Patricia (sp). Several of the male staff members were also helpful, but I missed getting their names. The rooms were comfortable and the food offerings were quite impressive, particularly the myriad of freshly prepared dishes at the breakfast buffet. I generally do not like to eat in the morning, but the food was irresistible! The filtered water machines near the elevators was also a fine additional to an impressively run hotel. I am eager to return to this very fine hotel and to continue enjoying Gdansk.

Dirty room, not clean probably for a while. Confused staff with my booking. I have booked one double room and got twin room. Room wasn’t ready for our stay. No iron in the room. Only one tinny pillow available. And be very careful. The price you see during booking process is not the price you will be charged for. Make sure you keep all your receipts or invoices.

Situated in a quiet part of Gdansk but only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre thr Mercure hotel is a fantastic hotel in which to explore this beautiful city.
Amazingly clean and modern with a great view from our room I couldn't have asked for more !
The bed was very comfy snd the shower was powerful and hot with a great extractor fan which meant no foggy mirrors.
Tea and coffee ( with kettle) were provided as was a safe.Storage was ample.
A water dispenser was available outside the lifts.

Warsaw, Poland

I'm a regular guest at Accor hotels which Mercure is part of. Most of Mercure hotels in Poland have a restaurant called Winestone. It's a restaurant and a wine bar. In all Winestones I've been to the quality of food and wine was really good e.g in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan.
But this time, I was very disappointed by what I saw and tasted in Mercure Gdansk Stare Miasto. I ordered a burger which was made of the cheapest bread roll and the meat was hard and burnt.

When I asked for a glass of red wine, the waitress could only tell me that it's a red, dry wine. This I figured by myself but from a wine bar I would expect they know a bit more and let alone serve you the wine from the bottle and not bring something of mediocre quality already in the glass.
In short, avoid this restaurant at all cost.

As for the hotel itself, it's OK. It's been converted from an old communist block and it shows but everything is clean and works fine and the location is very convenient if you need the city centre and/or the main train station.

For a change, breakfast is great. Not sure how they can cook really varied and tasty breakfast when they don't bother about the evening meals at the restaurant.

If I have a choice I will probably not go back to this hotel given the numerous options of accommodation you have in Gdansk.

From check-in o check-out, the staff at this hotel were excellent. We had booked two rooms and were given adjoining rooms. I had no complaints about the cleanliness of the room. There was the usual tea/coffee facilities, it a nice touch was a water cooler at the lift area. This gave us access to clean, cool drinking water.
We ate in the restaurant on the first day, for breakfast. The choice was plentiful, but I would recommend looking elsewhere to eat, as the price was way above what else is available in very close proximity.
The location of the hotel was ideal. There is a shopping mall opposite, with a choice of shops and eating places. There are several supermarkets within 5 minutes walking distance and plenty of other shops as well.
It was a leisurely 15 minute walk into the centre of Gdansk and Dluga street.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others and would definitely consider staying, if we were ever in Gdansk again.

(room 207)

+Good location, near to everything. Few minutes walk to the train station and mall, 10min walk to Długa pedestrian street with restaurants and cafés (you will walk pass many shops on the way too).
+2 free water bottles.
+Air-condition, TV, Kettle, Refrigerator, Hair dryer, Safety box. (no iron in the room, can probably ask from the reception).

Cost around 45 PLN with Uber to the airport, takes 20-30min drive.
If you need cash there is a ATM on the hotel, but we only used cash in Poland.
