Had a lovely experience staying at this charming hotel. Staff were very helpful, especially the efficient and friendly Robert who helped us greatly with information and to feel very welcomed.
Lovely breakfast, prompt room service. Room cleaned daily and little touches that made the stay extra special, it was a real rare and wonderful treat to stay here and a great location to explore and enjoy wonderful Gdansk, would highly recommend. We look forward to returning soon.

A wonderful historic hotel in a great location. Like a beautiful palace. Decorated with beautiful wallpapers, curtains and classic furniture which all create an atmosphere from old noble times. When we arrived we have been welcomed in a very warm way, all staff was so polite and helpful. They serve perfect breakfast. We had our breakfast every morning watching from the window the beautiful river view. We also had dinner at the Restaurant which had a lovely atmosphere. We stayed from 19 - 22 February. If we visit Gdansk again we will stay for sure to Podewils which is a fabulous hotel!

Hotel Podewils is an outstanding property. It is a boutique hotel, with only 10 rooms, and has superior quality. They provide a wonderful breakfast buffet and offer hot food options as well. The building was constructed around 1730, so historically it is attractive and wonderful. The rooms (at least ours was) are furnished with beautiful antiques. The lobby is cozy and attractive. All staff are pleasant and helpful. The hotel is in a areat location , and rooms have river/canal views, and are quiet. Our bathroom was beautiful, functional, and all marble; hot water without delay. The hotel location is convenient, with short walking to many restaurants and historic sites. The Filharmonia is around the corner. Hotel Podewils is a gem in all ways, and not to be missed. We recommend it highly.

We tried really hard to like this Hotel and paid about 270 usd per room per night. For the price, we expected a five star hotel. Instead there was a long strand of cobwebs above the bed, the carpets under the bed were covered in a thick layer of dust and to make matters worse, the mattresses were sunken concave without any weight on it.

Furnishings were dated and we could have appreciated it if the upkeep was decent. The kettles were covered internally with limes alr deposits which the hotel changed for us but were unable to do anything about the mattresses.

Apart from the hospitable service from one of the receptionists Goscia, there were very few redeeming qualities of Podewils. Breakfast was passable at best.

It was really disappointing in comparison to the other hotels we have stayed at in Poland that cost the same.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left Podewils we felt incredibly welcome. All staff were delightful, it was obvious that they are proud to work at this hotel. It was remarkably easy to kick back and enjoy our short break in Gdansk. Our room exceeded expectations, housekeeping services were excellent. Breakfast is currently the only meal offered by the hotel, but with so many cafes in very close proximity this was not an issue. If you are looking for a quiet break Podewils is highly recommended, if we return to Gdansk this is exactly where we will stay.

This is a little hotel in Old town, I drove past it :) anyway, I don't know how many rooms but it has 2 floors, maybe a few rooms on each floor. Very small parking area and the cost was high / day. Very nice room, comfortable bed. Bathroom was a bathtub with shower. Breakfast was maybe a little small, but it was enough for my need in the morning.
The location of this hotel is perfect, 5 minutes and you are among all the restaurants and stuff, they had a antique market that was open all day, and alot of other small booths with stuff to buy.
The walls are kinda thin, so you hear your neighbour quite easily, this was maybe the only thing that annoyed me abit. but other than that I really liked this hotel.

This hotel does not live up to a 5-star expectation. Their so called "spa" is only a sauna. The hotel is really small and the inventory seems to be from the 70's or 80's.

During our stay in Gdansk we visited another 4 star hotel with spa, that had a much higher quality. Hotel Podewils does not deserve more than 3 stars.

Response from Magdalena Piotrowska, General Manager at Hotel Podewils Old Town Gdansk
Responded 28 Jun 2021
Dear Mrs. Mariell H and Mr. Maurits K, Thank you for taking the opportunity to review your stay with us. I'm most concerned and sorry to read of your disappointments. Our Podewils Hotel is a small boutique Hotel with 10 rooms. It is a historic building from 1728. Completely rebuilt and restored in accordance with the guidelines of the Chief Monument Conservator. The interiors have been styled in a baroque style with original antique furniture, English wallpapers and fabrics. We have neither a SPA nor a pool and we did not provide such information anywhere. We realize that this design does not suit you. However, you have booked by your travel agency a standard double room at the Last Minute Deals price. Presumably there was a misunderstanding when booking with an agency that you were presented with the hotel as a large spa property. We regret this misunderstanding and in order to somehow improve your comfort of stay, we have offered you a free upgrade to a Deluxe double room overlooking the river, which you were happy to accept. So now I’m surprised to note that we didn't live up to your expectations after all. We are always committed to delivering the highest level of guest service and I'm genuinely sorry to note you did not have this same impression on this occasion. Certainly, we have the understanding that despite our efforts, the hotel did not suit you. Our guest feedback is very important for us and we take it serious. We will work even harder to ensure that the stay of each of our guests with us is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. My team and I remain on hand to assist in any way we can. Sincerely, Magdalena Piotrowska Hotel Manager

The staff very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in Gdańsk.

This hotel was so charming! It’s located just off the main area. This was nice, because the quietness added to the peacefulness of the hotel. However, there were restaurants and anything you could need still within a block or two.

The staff was amazing! I was traveling with my mom and sister. Our arrival into Poland was a comedy off errors, but the staff was so helpful in guiding us through our problems in a new country. Pawel especially went out of his way to help us. But really, every staff member was so helpful and friendly. Perfect start to our Poland journey.

The rooms were clean and charming. Nothing like you’d find in a chain hotel. The bathtub/shower took a bit to get used to, but not an issue. Breakfast was excellent. They even noted that I didn’t finish my porridge the first day, because it was too much to finish. They brought me a smaller portion the next morning. They also, brought up tea in the afternoon.

Service at its finest!

It was a small and charming hotel, but we expected better service, more facilities and higher quality from a 5 star hotel. It was listed with having a spa and jacuzzi, the spa was a simple sauna and the jacuzzi was inside one guestroom. When we asked where the nearest spa was, the receptionist was unable to answer and we went to one we found on Google.
