Gotyk House is located in the very heart of the old town, in the most beautiful street in Gdansk. The oldest house A.D. 1451 was transformed into comfortable old styled hotel. Gotyk House is the place where modernity unites with history. The care of each and every detail of the house helps reflect the spirit of the past of old Gdansk in the interiors of Gotyk House. According to the legend this is the house where Nicholas Copernicus and Anna Schilling met and fell in love...

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. I went to Gdansk for a long weekend break and booked this hotel as the price was extremely reasonable. The rooms had clearly been designed and decorated with a lot of care and thought and the hotel was very warm despite the freezing temperatures outside. I would definitely stay in this hotel in the future if I went back to Gdansk.

This is a perfectly located, beautiful, clean, and friendly hotel. It does have a couple of quirks which may annoy some people. The reception is only open 8 to 8. People with an early flight or an issue would be out of luck. The breakfast (which is wonderful) opens at 9 and as it is cooked to order, you won’t eat until at least 9:15. I would definitely stay again, but might find a different breakfast spot as 9:15 is late for me.

The perfect place to stay in Gdansk. The location is excellent - right in the old city near to excellent restaurants and only a shortish walk to the train station. The room was very comfortable and toasty warm, with underfloor heating in the shower room. It looked out onto the church opposite, where the bells ring on the hour and half-hour. Friendly and helpful staff at check-in and when we needed help booking an early morning taxi to the airport for our departure day.

This is a lovely refurbished hotel right in the centre. Our stay was ruined by the fact the heat controller in our room did not work so dispite 2 trips to reception and 2 calls our room was like a sauna and unbearable to sleep in. We had breakfast included, the 1st morning we had in the restaurant and it was lovely, the gentleman serving was excellent too. The 2nd day we went down and it was full (it only has 5/6 tables anyway) so we were told to wait 15-20mins so we ended up going and paying for breakfast elsewhere (really should not be our issue if their restaurant does not have enough seating to carer for more than 5 couples) third day at 8.30am it wasn't even open so we missed it again and bought breakfast at the airport.
On the last day we arrived back at 5pm in the afternoon and our room had still not been serviced, we had to ask a maid cleaning another room for towels and toilet roll.
Lastly we came via vip car that we booked prior to arrival with the hotel, it is a luxury car, I asked them to book us a taxi to go back to the airport and was charged by the hotel exactly the same for a basic car ride??

We stayed at the hotel last week and enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel (room 10). There were definitely pros and cons but for the price I think that I would recommend it (as long as you take ear plugs!) The location is brilliant, the room decor lovely, but we found it to be very noisy at night - people screaming and bottles being emptied into glass bins in early hours of the morning. The heating was also not able to be controlled which left our room like a sauna - it was either be really hot or open the window and get no sleep from the noise. Other than the noise & heating problem, the hotel was great.

Great location right next to the basilica and very atmospheric, although I was in the modern annexe next door. Thanks to the receptionist for carrying my suitcase to the third floor.

My small and stylish room was fine for one person and I didn't find revellers too noisy but there was a useful but very curious and noisy small fridge in the wardrobe that wouldn't work without the room card in the light slot. So I had to go and get another card from reception to keep my milk and drinks cool. The fridge generated some heat so I thought it safer to leave the wardrobe door open at all times.

Breakfast could be ordered from the Mexican restaurant next door but only from 09:00 - far too late!

Chose this hotel based on previous ratings, clearly not living up to its reputation.
Front desk personnel mostly absent and not helpful in any way. No clean up of the room during the stay. No air conditioning in the room, would get quite hot; also the location is awesome but very noisy, so opening the windows is not ideal. Bad smells coming from the bathroom. Use your money elsewhere!

Stayed for 3 nights and it is really in a lovely location. Room was nice and very clean. But too many issues to rate more than 3*. Room heating was overbearing at night and can't be turned down and too noisy outside to open the window. We were given the remote control for the air con which helped. No milk provided, told we had to buy our own. Room still not serviced one day by 2.30pm. Shower quite weak and shower head definitely needed descaling. Other trivial issues mean overall, for us, this was not a great hotel.

This is lovely small hotel, perfectly situated to explore the city. Beautiful room with everything you would expect. I have read some of the reviews and yes there is only someone on reception until 8pm but there is a phone number. We ordered a taxi for 5am through the hotel and it was no problem.
Breakfast which indeed is wonderful although it is a small place, we didn't have a problem getting a table.
I can see that if you are a light sleeper the bells ringing might be an issue but it added to the charm for us.
I would stay there again, in fact it is my second time.

Lovely small boutique hotel in the perfect location of the old town. Attractively decorated throughout. Girl on reception welcoming and happy to help. Within easy reach of lots of lovely bars, restaurants and lovely walks around the river. Great wee restaurant next door, where they serve the most wonderful food. The sound of the bells from the beautiful church next door are really quite charming.
