In the heart of the city and next to Florian Gate, the largest gate into the historical city, sits the Hotel Indigo® Krakow - Old Town. Housed in a stunning 19th century building. The hotel design has been inspired by three Polish painters from different centuries and that heritage has been subtly brought into our rooms and our public areas. Old Kleparz market is opposite our hotel and we are walking distance to Krakow's Main Square, St. Mary's Basilica, the Clothes Hall, the main shopping street (Florianska), Wawel Castle and the Jewish district.

Hotel's Favourite
Excellent hotel with friendly and flawless service. This was one of my best stays for the last couple of years. The room was spacious, modern, all amenities you would need. Room Temperature was perfect, bed was super comfy, the room was extremely quiet. There was a small gym with a bike, treadmill, weight machine but every single free weight you ever hope for. There is also a nice sauna. The breakfast was excellent and there was a small bistro on the ground floor. Excellent throughout.

We have stayed with this group before, so knew we could anticipate a comfortable stay.
We booked a superior room but were upgraded to a deluxe superior room (104), on check in, as a result of being a member of the IHG hotel group.
Check in was prompt if somewhat perfunctory. We later discovered they always have a bell boy on duty, however at no point were we offered support with our luggage.
Our room was dual aspect on the first floor. And it was wonderful. Spacious, pristine and well equipped. Super comfortable bed and a powerful shower. The mini bar was well stocked and the prices very reasonable. However of note, we had some juice from the mini bar on our first evening, but it was never restocked. Furthermore there is no Mirror where you can sit and blow dry your hair or apply makeup. There is a large wall mirror by the door - but the light is poor, ditto the bathroom. But everything else was perfect. There are bright lights outside the windows, but the blinds and dark curtains easily block out the light pollution. The housekeepers maintain the cleanliness of the room to the highest standard and are super friendly too.
Breakfast is excellent. Hot dishes cooked to order and a vast buffet selection, including: a whole tray of honeycombs, meats, fish, cheese, eggs, pastries, various breads, fresh fruit, cereal, nuts.....to name but a few. The service staff are friendly, attentive but in no way obtrusive.
We ate dinner in the restaurant on the first night. Again it was of high quality, but to be truthful we ate food of equable quality in small family run restaurants in the back streets of Kraków, for much less money. The barman mixes a mean cocktail too, but note he isn’t there all the time and the regular bar servers explained they couldn’t mix cocktails.
Location wise The hotel Indigo is just outside the old town walls. With the main square been a 10 minute stroll. Immediately next door is a really good produce market.
The hotel Indigos biggest failing are some of the reception team. Two in particular are unsmiling, unhelpful and bordering on rude. Obviously the reception is the “face” of the hotel, the first people you meet and a warm welcome, a smile and showing some interest in your guests makes a world of difference.
Hotel Indigo, you have a fantastic product, can I suggest you review your reception staff training as a matter of urgency. As, they really do impact negatively on your first impression of the hotel. This review would have been 5+ if it wasn’t for our experiences of reception.

Our second trip to Krakow and we will certainly remember our stay here. What a lovely building with beautiful artwork all around, and in such a great location. Close to the main square but far enough away to offer a quiet night’s sleep. Our room was comfortable with a free safe and coffee machine. The shower was one of the best designs we have encountered and not a drip of water on the floor outside. The shower room floor and walls are covered with funky tiles and the lighting is excellent. We found the bedroom warm and quiet at night. Breakfast was also memorable, plenty of choice of cereals, fruit and meats, and a decent cooked Polish breakfast. When we next return to Krakow we will certainly come back here.

This break was booked to celebrate my 50th birthday. This hotel was so beautiful,so clean and ideally situated in the town with the famous outdoor market right next door. There was everything we needed in the bedroom, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing board, hairdryer, daily bottles of fresh water, outstandingly clean bathroom and the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing with friendly staff to wait on you with everything you could think of to set your day up.

Amazing stay definitely recommended. Location is excellent, 5-10 minute walk from station so getting from airport is so easy, location in krakow has easy access to all old town and tourist destinations easy walkable or tram for those across the river. My room was spacious and clean , area very quite, only noise I ever heard was water from pipes in another room but as this was once twice a day no real issue. I only had breakfast as I ate out for the rest, but it was good variety and nice hot selection cooked to order, variety of cold cheese, meats , breads, pastries , cereals etc. Lovely bar.

I travelled with my husband and grown up daughter. Had two rooms at this hotel and it did not disappoint. The hotel has an excellent location. Literally 10 min walk to main square. Rooms were very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. All toiletries provided along with slippers bathrobe and hairdryer. Also iron and board. Breakfast good with fruits cereals and meats along with hot selections of polish breakfast, omelette, eggs benedict. Loved this hotel and would definitely return.

This hotel is in a great location with easy access to the train station and old town. Plus there is a wonderful market next store. The room was impeccably clean and the design was modern and fun. The shower had great water pressure, and I loved the tiles in the shower and on the floor. Staff was helpful. Nothing bad to say about this place.

Only stayed here due to how close it was to Krakow railway station and having an early flight. I usually stay in another IHG hotel but it is another 15 mins walk away.
The hotel is easy to find, straight out the middle doors of the Galería Krakow shopping centre that is above the railway station and walk about 5 mins down the street that is straight ahead
Like other Hotel Indigo it is a quirky building where I’d imagine every room is different. Mind was upgraded as a IHG rewards member but I must say I was really disappointed with it and could only imagine how bad the standard room must be if this was the upgrade.
You basically couldn’t swing a cat in it , barely room to walk around the bed, nowhere to store luggage so it had to sit on the limited space beside the bed.
On a really hot day it wasn’t ideal to find the window locked , yes there was aircon but it was noisy and I’d rather have had fresh air and couldn’t see a reason why a first floor window would be locked
Bathroom had no window and therefore zero natural light which wasn’t good. This room 103 only had a walk in small shower which nicely managed to flood the bathroom floor due to a bad seal on the bottom of the shower door.
The bed was comfortable although I didn’t sleep well as the aircon kept me awake. Plus every time the room above flushed the loo or used the sink or shower I got all the noise from it which wasn’t great late at night
So in summary I wouldn’t go back and will return to the other IHG hotel in the area on my next stay

Dear Jason M, Thank you very much for your feedback after your stay with us. We always strive to deliver a great experience to our Guests and we are most sorry to hear you have found our hotel not up to your expectations. As we are located right in the city center, in historic building dating back to 1836, all our rooms are adapted in the old tenement house and vary very much on the size. We will check carefully with our technical department your comment according the air-condition noise and the shower to prevent future occurrence. Thank you again for your valuable comment, which will help us to improve for the future. Sincerely, Hotel Manager

This hotel was excellent! We just got back from our stay at Krakow and this hotel was a key component to such a lovely stay. The hotel is in a prime location with just a 5-10 minute walk to the main square and a 5 minute walk to the huge shopping centre which also has the train station and bus station built in which is so handy! Before visiting, I looked at the pictures on here and thought it looked quite cold and structured but in reality, the hotel was so lovely and modern whilst also being very cosy and just having a very safe and comforting feel.
The staff spoke brilliant English and were very happy to help and I was offered early check in for signing up to IHG rewards. The hotel was out of the way of hustle and bustle and very peaceful to sleep in. The beds were comfy and spacious and there was air conditioning provided. The shower was excellent with great quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash and the shower pressure was absolutely amazing. There was a nice selection of hot drinks and water available every day also.
The room also had a fairly good quality hair dryer, which is a detail I’d have wanted to know before staying. We didn’t try the continental breakfast but it was an option and there was also a bar and restaurant on site that seemed popular. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and modern experience in Krakow!

This hotel has so much going for it, the rooms are wonderful the bed comfortable & staff really good, after travelling round Krakow picking up other people on trips I’d say the best location outside of the old town 5 mins walk from the old town 5 mins walk from the shopping centre and train station so what gives it my 4star rating -
Breakfast, undercooked eggs every morning didn’t matter if they were poached, fried or scrambled soft gooey eggs isn’t appetising.
The bar - expensive, then running out of draft lager, bottled beer, coke and other drinks for last 3 days of stay certainly not appropriate for a top 4⭐️ hotel.
Would we stop again yes but only because of fabulous location Krakow is full of wonderful hotels that vie for your custom.

We were there in April and slept with the windows open. We did not find it noisy. FYI, we loved the hotel , staff, and location.
Yes - the breakfast is really good. There is an extensive cold buffet - including, fruits. Cereals, cheeses, cold meats and pastries. You then choose a made to order hot breakfast, from choices such as porridge, full cooked breakfast or omelette. Stayed for 3 nights and looked forward to breakfast each day.
I would hope so if you’re taking Xmas bookings. Hope you enjoy
Small gym in basement has 1 x treadmill, 1 x bike, 2 sets of hand weights ( good range ), multi - function weight station, kettle drum weights. Weight scales ( not working - battery required? ), clean wipes, towels, water. Area although small, is new and machines clean & can use 24/7. - hope that helps.
