This hotel is lovely and clean, the rooms are spacious and adequate for your stay.
The staff are helpful, but speak little English.
Breakfast is reasonable.
The location is quite far out from the centre and isn't within walking distance. If you ask the reception staff they will ring a taxi for you, however, be prepared to ask price before you get in. The first day our taxi to the main square cost 35 zl, however the next with the same taxi firm cost 130zl, and from there ranged between the two. I do believe the taxi drivers just make it up as they go along, and probably see English tourists as a nice little earner!

Simple Equation with City Breaks:

Great Hotel, Good Facilities, Central Location = Big Money
Basic Hotel, Central Location = Mid Price
Great Hotel, Off Centre = Good nights sleep and Bargins to be had.

The Conrad, like our previous City Break hotel choices fits firmly into the latter category. This suits us fine as we aren't Night people, like a good nights sleep and like our creature comforts and do like a clean modern Hotel.

General.
The Conrad is just inside the Ring Road but you barely notice the noise due to it's modern construction and excellent glazing. The staff are polite, willing to assist and speak very good English (which always makes me feel guilty but grateful) We did not use the Spa as it was chargeable. (This was not clear on the Website) I must say this disapointed me somewhat and is the main reason I don't feel I can offer 5 Stars.

Rooms
The Rooms are tidy and well laid out, the Bathroom modern with a nice hot powerful Shower. Maids did a super job.

Getting About.

Our first Taxi from the Airport to the Hotel was 65 PLN (about £12.50) and the driver informed me that it would be 35 - 40 PLN from the hotel into Town (At which point I was mentally totting up how much extra I would need to cash to keep my Vodka and Honey Beer stash up to suitable levels. But he earned his money by advising us that the Buses were only 5 minutes walk from the Hotel, were frequent and easy to use, the Hotel staff were only to happy to provide directions an let us know to catch the 130. First time walking there we did wonder if we were going the right way but it was basically right out of the Hotel follow the ring road, right at next junction and stay on that road.

A one way Trip into Town was 2.80PLN per person, stopped outside the Galleria Shopping Centre, next to to the Train Station which is near the Top of the Old Town. There was always a bus waiting and you could buy tickets at the Machine or on the Bus, and then you simply validated them once onboard. Easy. Convenient. Cheap. I beleive the last Bus home was 11pm and we always had 40PLN spare with us just in case but we were so busy during the day and so tired in the evening we never put this to the test! On our final day we took the bus in as Normal, stored the cases in the Lockers at the Train Station and caught the Shuttle Train to the Airport (Modern and Clean) which took 20 mins and cost 10 PLN each and with a short free bus shuttle takes you to the door of the terminal. Travelling was easy and cheap leaving us more money for Trips, Food Beer and Flavoured Vodka :-)

Summary.

Pluses
Clean. Tidy. Free Wi-Fi. Modern, Nice feel. Warm and cosy. very good price per night. Pleasant helpful staff

Minuses

Spa facilities chargeable? (Nothing wrong with that but make it clear on your website please Hotel Conrad)

A regular visitor to Dubai for family holiday and business purpose. This is my first time at Conrad hotel Dubai for business stay, a great location with the World Trade overground station directly in front of the hotel, and easy to get taxis, 5 mins ride to Dubai Mall, this makes a great stay for location. And the hotel room has the luxury comfort you seek in a 5 stars branded hotel, good service, fast check in process, and room with good cityscape view and very comfortable with good amenties, walk in shower and a bathtub with TV. The breakfast buffet has a good selection, the pool side bar is a good place for a glass of wine if weather permits, the pool is mostly under shade but a nice size and popular, though I think an upgrade of the pool lounge mattress maybe recommended. Overall a good value for stay in Dubai, where I got a good deal through hotel.com. Good choice for a business stay.

The Conrad is not what it was – but keep reading because it still may be the best option for your stay. First, check the location. There is no quick or easy way to the centre of town which is too far to walk. You can get there by bus and tram – but it will take you 30 minutes. But if you want easy access to the airport or the north west of the city – then might be ideal. The bus stop is 50 m away though it does not go to the airport. Ubers are cheap.
The rooms are the best thing about the hotel. They are large with solid, well-designed furniture – so there is easily room for everything – especially good if you are going to stay several nights. The bathrooms are fine. The cleaning staff are very good – all is spotless.
Sadly the breakfasts are only good – whereas pre-pandemic they were fantastic. Now they are lacking toast. No toast – come on?And not quite as fresh and tasty as before. And now there doesn't seem to be a bar or a restaurant. Breakfast is all you get – no more lovely soup brought to your room. No room service at all in fact. So it’s more like a luxurious hostel these days – but for a big clean quiet comfortable room, it’s still very good value.

I was living in Krakow somewhere else, but I had some immigration issues and needed help and translation and advice. Tomasz Polak - Hotel Director - was very willing to set me on the right track. (And so were the other staff, they were just unable to speak English as well as him.) Even though I had to turn up more than once for clarifications and extra help. I will not bore you with the specifics. To put it in a nutshell:

If the staff is this helpful to a non-customer, imagine how good they are to a customer.

Another hotel I stayed in 2010 (due to the choices of dates available I have to put 2012) during an extended business trip throughout Poland. I did not book the hotel myself rather, it was booked for me, and so I think I was lucky in getting such a great place to stay in!
This is a nice quiet hotel that thinks of its guest's rather than its income. The rooms are clean and well maintained with spacious. The beds are comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi is available but not always within reach, I had to sit in the landing chairs to get a good signal but I can live with that, (Skype is free so no international call charges whilst calling home). The desk staff are helpful and multi-lingual and will make every effort possible to make sure their guest's have a pleasant stay.
The restaurant offers a good variety of food that is well presented and very tasty, styles range from local fair to international dishes, all well cooked and served hot. Breakfast is a well stoked continental type, help yourself buffet with plenty of choices to pick from.
All in all I was very happy with the Conrad and would recommend it.

Staff is ver helpful and with smiling faces. there is a cattle, coffea, tea and a bottle of water in the rooms. Breakfast is very good. WiFi is free.

There are a couple of options to get to Auschwitz but if you want to go directly from the Conrad it will be by taxi. Other options are a taxi into Krakow main square (approx 40pln) then a train into Oswiecim. It's about 20 mins to walk from the train station to Auschwitz 1. For an organised tour Krakville Tours are ok, I would say tho that not much time is spent in Birkeneau with the guides which may leave you a little disappointed.

The buses are located at a bus station about 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. The buses go quite regularly. I can't remember how much they cost, but it wasn't very much. It is about 6km into town, so I walked most days.
