Crown Piast Hotel and SPA is an attractively located hotel and park complex with an extensive SPA offer. It is the only facility of this type in Krakow with an outdoor heated pool, open all year. The hotel has its own garden of over a hectare and offers 179 comfortable, spacious, air-conditioned rooms and suites in a classic, timeless design. It is also an ideal place to organize training sessions, conferences, outdoor events and banquets. It is distinguished by silence, peace and excellent recreational and sports facilities. Business guests, conference participants, families with children, travelers as well as film crews and artists who often visit us appreciate this. The hotel also has a convenient location near the A4 motorway exit, exit routes from Krakow and the airport (10 minutes by car), while being close to the city center (15 minutes by car). In the Anthurium Restaurant, garden gazebo and summer terrace, we serve dishes inspired by the world's cuisines with a clear accent on Polish cuisine. We invite you to the Coffee Bar during the day for varied lunches, and in the evening to taste local liqueurs, drink a glass of wine or a glass of cognac. Welcome!

We booked here for a long weekend city break.situated in quiet park area ,even though close to large shopping industrial area .this is not a problem though.we took a taxi into Krakow old town.very reasonable taxi rates and always on time . reception will order for you.the staff were mostly friendly. The spa area was a disappointment.sparse atmosphere and pool outside! The restaurant and bar were more like a conference area . hotel very clean, warm and the room was very comfortable .didn't seem five star.we asked for milk for the tea making set in the room and we were told " polish people don't have milk in their tea" but surely the hotel should be geared up for all global guests .we also highly recommend Krakow too ,a beautiful area with lots to see and many restaurants.tge Auschwitz tour is good but guided tour is a lot of walking and trying to keep up if you have any difficulty in walking is a bit hard.would recommend you split the tours over several days as trying but good.try also the horse and carriage ride in the old quarter and the tuk tuk ride around the Jewish quarter

We recently took a 2 night break in Krakow staying at this hotel. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly. It has most things you would expect of a 4 star hotel and breakfast was a buffet style serving - really good food.

The hotel is situated about 5 minutes from the centre of Krakow and the taxi will cost 20 PLNs (current UK conversions mean about 3.30p). We took a taxi for the day arranged by the hotel to the nazi concentration camp which took about 5-6hrs so allow plenty of time - this cost 300 PLN (about 48 pounds for 3 of us). I wouldn't bother with the Tour as the taxi is more convenient.

If you wish to use the Sauna or Jacuzzi we needed to notify the reception as the hotel was quiet and they needed time to start it up.

I would stay at this hotel again as the Town can get noisey due drunken stag parties.

I'm writing this to help out other couples who are looking for wedding venues in Krakow. When my (now) husband and I were desperately searching for a perfect outdoor garden and a good hotel for our Humanist Wedding, we could not find any reviews from similar events in this hotel. So here is mine:
Our wedding was on 19th July 2014 at Crown Piast Hotel. It was a humanist ceremony and we wanted it outside, among green shrubs and beautiful surroundings. The hotel has never done anything like this before, so we were nervous as I'm sure they were too. We booked the date way in advance (about a year and a half) and then had to change it. It was absolutely no problem, the lady I was dealing with was polite and helpful, answered all my questions and throughout the next year, whenever I wanted to know something, my questions were always answered quickly. The lady dealing with our wedding eventually left her job and we got someone else (Karolina), who turned out to be even more brilliant than the first one. Everything was arranged over email, which was helpful since we were living in England. I speak Polish so it was easy to communicate with them, but they do also speak very good English.
We were staying in the hotel 2 nights before the wedding and on the wedding night. The first night I was meant to stay in a double room with a friend, the second night hubby and I were meant to stay in another double room and then the night of the wedding we would get our honeymoon suite. Karolina was so wonderful and simply let hubby and I stay both nights in the honeymoon suite, for free, so it was easier for us that way. I was extremely grateful for that, considering I hadn't slept for days and was super stressed out about the wedding. The suite was huge (two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and a beautiful bathroom). It was however, very very hot in there, even with the air con on, since it was on the very top floor of the hotel.
The day of the wedding, it was 35 degrees outside, scorching sun and the hotel's air con was not doing well. Nonetheless, the ceremony was at 3pm in the garden. I only told the hotel an idea of how I want the setup for the ceremony to look, and what they did was absolutely beautiful. I didn’t see it until I walked down the aisle, and it was just gorgeous, especially because the sun was shining, and all the chairs were under the beautiful huge willow tree (which was a god-send, as it provided shade for the guests).
The ceremony went smoothly. After that we had champagne in the garden for all the guests and then it was time to go inside for dinner. The banquet hall, although decorated very nicely, was absolutely BOILING hot. People were struggling with the heat, the air conditioning was “working” but it just wasn’t enough. We had 100 people melting away. The beer ran out very quickly as a result, and we had to buy another two kegs, which we had to pay for extra. The food was delicious, there was so much of it, we had plenty leftover. The entire night was amazing, even though it was hot. People enjoyed themselves, danced, sat outside when it got cooler in the evening, the garden was a hit with all the guests. Most of our guests stayed in the hotel and there were only a few complaints (about the temperature in rooms or deposit issues).
Overall, I recommend this hotel for humanist wedding ceremonies and weddings in general. The wedding package is very affordable, and the location is great (from the airport it’s only 15 min drive, same with the centre square). It’s a beautiful setting and we had an amazing wedding there. The only tip I would give is don't have your wedding there in the middle of the summer, because it's simply too hot.

If I could rate this hotel a 0 I would no facilities open at all rooms dated, bar not stocked up and staff rude! Manager is incompetent and we’re now getting trading standards involved for false advertising as it’s not a 5 star spa hotel it’s a 1 star at the most. We were promised a refund which we didn’t get hence why we’re getting a third party involved don’t make the mistake of booking here! It’s terrible.

Stupid hotel. Wanted to book a stay in Krakow, booked it through booking.com , and suddenly plans changed . We cancelled the stay in 10minutes long in advance before the stay, and been refused a whole night charge. So been charged a whole night stay, after cancelling in advance. The cancellation policy obviously wasn’t easy to find and to seek, send them caries emails, and received absolutely nothing. Would I recommend it, absolutely not, only dodgy hotels charge full amount for 0 service.

I will begin this review with the view I had on the hotel the day before we left.
First of all,Crown Piast is not a 5*, nothing about it says it is. It's an average 4* but you get what you pay for so if it's cheap then why not. But, I highly advise you not to pay 5* prices as you will more than likely be disappointed. The tennis courts don't belong to the hotel, you have to pay a company to use them 35pln for 1 hour. It also costs 60pln to us the hotels Jacuzzi/sauna for 1 hour, this in my opinion is unbelievable.
Breakfast is nice and I enjoyed it every morning but again I've had better in a 4*.
Location wise, there's no denying it's a fair way out from Krakow centre 1hr+ walking. But you can get a taxi, if so, only use the company megataxi as they charge around 16pln to the main square. Any other company it's around 28pln.
Finally, as we checked out of the hotel (with our transfers about to arrive) we was greeted with a 200pln bill because our towels were dirty. Because the price was sprung upon me I couldn't pay it, when asked to speak to the manager I was told "she's on the phone" the phone call must have lasted 50 minutes because she didn't appear once. Instead, the police were called on us. The police came in their numbers and we was forced to call back home to arrange a bank transfer to pay the 200pln. Luckily the transfer company was amazing and came back for us at a later time, so we managed to catch our flight.
The towels could have been cleaned. Why not tell us three days earlier when we have time sort it out? Not 3hrs before we fly home!
All in all the hotel isn't a 5*, it's lifeless and has no attributes of it being a 5* hotel.
Be careful what you do with your towels and if you choose to stay here I do hope they treat you better than they did me...

Made a 5 Day break in Krakow exceedingly enjoyable everything about the hotel was good. The gastronomic Breakfasts were something not to be missed.as was the other menus.
Our one worry before we arrived that it was outside the City, it turned out not to be a problem as a coach visited the Hotel hourly to pick any guests up
Thanks again to Madam and her staff

We paid around 1000 zloty (£230) to get from the airport to the Hotel, BUT wait, don't have a heart attack yet, it was my partners birthday celebrations and I secretly booked an 18 seat Limousine for the journey, it included 2 bottles of beer, 2 bottles of sparkling wine (which we don't drink so gave to the reception staff as the company make it clear it is yours to take away with you, an hour touring around Krakow in an amazing and huge Cadillac, and well worth the price if you are planning something special for your visit, back to reality and we got a taxi from outside the hotel to go back to the airport and this cost just 60 zloty (around £12) at the time. :)

How much is a taxi from here to auschwitz?
Answer from Paul P
Stafford, United Kingdom50 contributions19 helpful votes
Hi,it would be difficult to say really. The airport taxis charge 60 zloty to travel from the airport to the hotel (standard charge). The city taxis were anything from 18 zloty to 40 zloty to get to and from the hotel and krakow old town, depending on the bolume of traffic and there is a lot of traffic! I'd personally opt for bus or train or go to an organised tour which the coaches pick you up in old town. I hope that helps.

How much does crown piast pay the commission to give them the 5 star.
Answer from JednSasha
Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom2,799 contributions493 helpful votes
2 zloty per year, ok so I am guessing you are making a snide remark with this question, yes we have stayed in better hotels, some were 4 star but better, star ratings are based on a number of factors, room service, facilities, 24 hour reception lot's of little things that gain a hotel it's rating, this does mean that not 3*, 4* and 5* are created equal, a wise traveller researches the places they stay BEFORE they stay, there is ample information available on sites like this one and other booking sites. This hotel is excellent, it has everything a 5* hotel should have, but as I said, some have more, some have less and some are downright terrible. We got exactly what we expected and at a price that was fair for THIS 5* hotel, we have paid 5 and 6 times the price per night for some 5* hotels so any expectancy people have should be combined with value for money and the price they are paying per night. I paid more than £500 for one night at the Sunborn hotel in Gibraltar, worth every penny and 5 times as good as this hotel but more than 5 times the price yet both 5*, I guess you should be taking the rating system up with the raters not abusing the hotel.

The official city commission on hospitality, and it is the only one authorized body to classify hotels by stars. The commission conducts inspections at least every 2 years.
