To be fair, I will not complain about the room or staff, everything was ok according to the price. But nightmare took place when we left our room for just 5-7 mins to go to the reception which was a floor below and we were assaulted. No breaking in though, someone knew what he or she was doing. But I might be grateful, they left my passport in order I could travel back home. Well, makes you think over the situation. That is why I say watch out and lock the room, never ever leave anything valuable there! Even when taking shower!
Room was clean, spacious, great kitchen facilirties, easy waking machine, good location for sight seeing and night life. Cant fault it. Beds were comfy and we slept really well. Staff we're friendly and helpful at reception.
The place is horrible, the building itself is crumbling and reminiscent of the aftermath of War damage or it was never fixed after the 1956 uprising. The Apartments are dirty, damp, with bare wiring exposed in certain places, the street itself is noisy and full of Drunken Tourists (Mostly English) the whole apartment smells of sewage and mould, the owners don't care once they have your money, the building itself should be demolished along with this horrific excuse of a company running these disgusting sub-standard flats which I wouldn't wish for my worst enemy to occupy for even 1 hour.
We wanted to be in this area. I had stayed in other holiday apartments run by a different company within the same block, but these actually provided a proper balcony (room 417). The location is perfect. Shame the Old Man's Music Bar opposite has closed down, but there are plenty more options nearby. The bar downstairs wasn't open passed 1am, but that could be because it is out of season. Szimpla Kert is 5 mins away. The metro is 5 mins away. Mini market next door. 24 hour kebab & tobacconist also less than 2 mins away. If you need to change money do it in this area (by the New York Cafe) as once you get into town the rates drop. The apartment had everything we wanted - fridge, glasses, cups and a kettle. Everything else was an added bonus eg coffee maker & microwave & hob. The beds were comfy for us. We like hard beds. I will definitely stay again. It was everything we wanted, somewhere to sleep in a great location with the ability to make a coffee when we woke up. Thanks Akacfa …
Akacfa Holiday Apartments it's a nice apartment in the centre of Jewish area, that is the heart of Budapest, especially for night life. Apartment was spacious for 2 people, with a kitchen, fridge, sofa, table and a nice balcony. We enjoyed breakfast outside. Supplies for kitchen were just enough, maybe having some harness more would have helper in preparation. As far is apartment you won't find any toiletries but they provide towels. We stayed four nights and everything was fine. Check-in procedure was bit longer but not problematic. Free Wifi in room.
