Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff here was very nice and helpful, and there were a lot of amenities that were cheaper than I've found in hostels before. You can store your bags after checkout for only 3 euros. I stayed in an eight-bunk room. The en-suite bathroom was filthy and smelled horrific; had to use the hall bathroom instead. The ladders to the top bunks were also pretty treacherous. They did maintenance on the beds while we were staying there, removed some wooden shelves and afterwards there was sawdust on the bed. But this place is run by really caring people; they let you chill out there after checking out and the common spaces are nice. Not worth it at all to get an en-suite though, because you will just be using the hall bathroom anyway.

I really liked this hostel for a number of reasons. We booked it on booking and could cancel the reservation up to 2 days prior the date of arrival, which is great, and you can pay on arrival (with forints or by card). The staff is pleasant and informative, the whole place is clean and spacious, and the plants give such a nice vibe. We stayed at room with 8 beds (bunk beds). Every bed has a curtain, small shelf, 2 electrical outlets, a lamp and a small cabinet. You can also have a larger trunk beneath the bed, which comes with a lock (it's free of charge). Towels can be rented for €2. Every floor has a bathroom with several showers, toilets and sinks; everything is cleaned daily. The floor where most rooms are has a small kitchen, but on the main floor there is a really big kitchen, study room, game room, living room and every one of them is spacious and airy. Rooms and the hostel door open with a card which you get upon checking-in. The location of the hostel is great, it's next to a city market and around 10 minutes from Vaci street and metro station. Next time I come to Budapest I won't look for any other accommodation, I'm definitely coming back to Flow!

It’s a little tricky to find the place because the entrance is down a walkway and on the second floor of a residential building. Watch for the signs out front. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm. The upper bunks didn’t have safety rails and I felt insecure about falling so I switched to a lower bunk. The bunks have a small locker, privacy curtains, the beds are comfortable. There’s also another, larger locker under the bed for your bag. The AC in the room wasn’t great, but it was better than nothing. The showers had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The kitchen is a big open space and is well equipped. The lounge area was popular and the hostel hosted events on most nights, so it’s easy to meet people. The hostel is in a central location, it was quiet and clean, so I’d stay again.

Awful! I booked a private room for my stay and looked forward to my time in Budapest as the photos of the room and the reviews looked incredible. However, the room was dirty- the private shower had what appears to be mold around the corners, one of the blankets had a stain of what looked like blood, and there were numerous bugs I had to kill in the room despite keeping the doors and windows closed. The accommodations were quiet. However, parts of the room didn’t even seem to have been cleaned at all, parts were incredibly dusty. I know hostels usually have lower standards of cleaning, but this altogether made for an incredibly unpleasant trip. I had paid roughly €160 for two nights and deeply regret cheaping out on my accommodations.

Clean, close to trams/metro, cafés, restaurants. I reached here at night, even though the street was kind of dark but it was completely safe around. The only downside is the hostel is on 2nd floor and you’ll have to drag your suitcase up and down on your own, the place doesn’t have a lift. They have a common seating area, kitchen, bathrooms. Kitchen has almost everything that you might need. It is quite at night so no disturbance in sleep. People at reception are helpful. Wi fi works well.

This hostel has been made by the imaginative refurbishment of two floors of an old apartment building. It is light, spacious and airy. Security is good with keycard access. The location is very good, close to the Central Market Hall and a few minutes walk from the metro. The dorms are small but roomy. The bunks are comfortable, with shelf, light, charging point and privacy curtains. Byo padlock for the cage to hold your luggage. There are three unisex bathrooms and two guest kitchens. The makings of tea and coffee are provided free. The staff were generally helpful and efficient.

Room/Bathroom was extremely dirty and had a bad smell. Seems like staff only changed the bed sheets. Terrible experience! Would definitely NOT recommend staying here. I am aware that Hostels have lower standards, but you would at least expect some clean facilities!

Stayed with a group of friends for the F1 and this hostel was great. We filled a 6 bed room and had a shared bathroom, but facilities were clean and staff were always on hand to help. The rooms are air-conditioned and each bed comes with a privacy curtain, light and charging facilities. Doors were keyless entry too which is handy. In the middle of Budapest so ideal for sight-seeing and somewhere to call base for a few days. Kitchen facilities were also fine. There wasn't much of a social vibe to the hostel as you get in some others in the area, but if you're looking for somewhere to crash for a few days whilst in Budapest, it's ideal and extremely reasonable.

The hostel is nice, the 8 bed room had a bathroom attached, however very much let down by the cleaning staff around the hostel who are loud, inconsiderate of guests working or sleeping, one even walked into the bathroom while I was in there and complained when I explained I was about to shower? the “silent room” is anything but! Not a very social hostel so I would avoid if you’re solo and want to meet people, nobody talks to you, they don’t organise much for guests either for example cooking nights or tours and bar hops!

The hostel is located in a old beautiful building and faces the street on one side and a garden on the other side. It is just few minutes walking to Fovam Ter and the liberty bridge, a location I personally loved, and only 15’ to the city center. The common areas and the room were great, however I am not giving the maximum score as the staff was not always kind and helpful and the cleaning was not perfect. The girl who was in reception this morning though was really nice, so she more than compensated for the others.
