Before I start you need to see this hotel for what it is, a boat! You walk in & it's tidy & clean, receptionist was very welcoming & extremely helpful on all 3 days, pointing things out on maps, calling to change out airporport transfer & recommending a fantastic all you can eat & drink grill less than 5 minutes walk. Due to cancellations because of people not able to fly from Italy we were given the choice of 3 rooms. All very different but lovely nonetheless. I woukd suggest booking a river view room as I'd imagine the other side to be a little noisy & a view of the road where as our view were beautiful especially at night. Access to sit on the deck & just take in the wonderful architecture & scenary. The room was a decent size, comfy bed & powerful shower. (Make sure you have a spare towel to wipe down the toilet as the shower & toilet are all in together but that may not be every room). Nearest bus stop 5 minute walk, in to the city over the bridge 15 minute walk or make use of the hop on hop off buses with the nearest stop on the bridge less than 5 minutes from hotel.
Over all fantastic stay & would highly recommend hotel & stay again

This is a great place to stay , mainly for the location and the views , especially at night , or takes about 25 minutes to walk to the centre near the Eye .
The rooms are very small and ours 218 was very tired and needed updating , if you’re English don’t even bother trying the tv . The shower , toilet is a wet room , but it doesn’t dry so next morning you’re standing on a soaked floor .
Breakfast was adequate but the scrambled eggs were way overcooked every day .coffee was good .
If you want a drink in the evening buy it at the supermarket and not on the boat , it’s 2 or 3 times the price by reception.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay here .
There are some great restaurants nearby , oh and the wi fi was great .

Booked the grand jules on a decent priced groupon deal 89 per person 2 nights b&b with flights which were bad times so for an extra 60 quid got 3 full days. I must admit I didn't consider the danube water levels as my wife is a wheelchair user and the ramp to the boat was quite steep. People,e were so helpful and I'm reasonably strong so this was not a problem. The boat is in a great location. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was perfect fresh and plentiful. It's about half an hour walk from where the airport shuttle drops you so unless it's pouring it's well worth the walk. We found the rooms comfortable and the temperature perfect. Nice and hot when its minus 3 outside. We would definitely stay here again but I wouldn't say it is ideal for wheelchair users but if you are fairly strong and can mobilise a bit you will cope fine

I stayed over a weekend and it was very accessible to get round budapest. I emailed before hand to see if we could get a room facing the houses of parliament, however, they said they didn't have any rooms. But they were able to put birthday banners up for my partners birthday. There is a terrace that you can go out and look at the view. The staff were very approachable and helpful upon visit and organised transport to and from the airport for €30. The room was basic but had everything needed on a weekend trip. Enjoyed my trip and would recommend.

Spectacular views while sat on your bed. Doubt you can get better.
Breakfast choice varied with a coffee machine. No kettle in room but has a hot and cold water fountain in reception - limited supplies though so I had cappuccino sachets in my room. I asked for a hairdryer and extra pillows. Which was no problem for the staff and they offered me an umbrella for when it might rain. Only serve breakfast so get some snacks in if you arrive late or order a takeaway and eat it on the decking as we did (download ‘Wolt’ app)
I’d recommend the daily tram pass at around 1600HUF as it saves time and blisters. Google maps makes planning the journey very easy. We hired a broke also which was fun on Margret island (download Mol Bubi app, 2 bikes per account) showers in hotel look small but are actually pretty good. Rooms were good temperature, beds very comfy and large. Overall, you can’t beat the location and price of this hotel. It’s something different and I’d definitely recommend over a hotel that’s stuck in the middle of other buildings.

Myself and my son stayed at the Grand jules boat hotel for 3 nights. The staff where very kind an welcoming, and very informative. We booked a Boat trip on Silverline through the hotel which was amazing 6 course meal with entertainment, well worth the money. Myself an my son thoroughly enjoyed the trip. On board Grand jules the breakfast was buffet style and was filling ( only thing I could find fault was the scrambled eggs could have been warmer). In the reception area of the boat is tea, coffee and fruit an herbal teas complimentary,an a nice added touch was satchets of honey for your drink. I opted for fruit tea with honey which was a welcome drink after we had been out all day. You could help yourself whenever you wished. The actual cabin was very clean, warm and had a TV, free WiFi Internet (available all over the boat),free safe, bathroom was very clean with a shower. The beds where also clean an very comfortable an the view of Parliment Buildings an the river beautiful. An finally the room was very warm you could adjust the heating but I opted to sleep with the window open. You won't be disappointed if visiting the Grand Jewels Boat hotel we had a fabulous time. The boat is moored on buda side of the river. The tram 19 takes you to Gellert baths an from there you can either walk across the Green Bridge to pest or take a Tram across we opted to walk the bridge which is beautiful of a night time an takes less than 10 mins to walk across. Grand jewels boat hotel is in a prime position there is nothing negative that you could find to say about this boat hotel ( which is 60 yrs old ) an the staff are available 24 hrs a day. It really is just a beautiful simple boat hotel I guarantee you won't be disappointed should you choose to stay there. P.s smoking is allowed on outside Deck where a table an chairs an Ash trays are provided. Thank you to all staff we will be back x

Excellent value accommodation in the heart of the city.

We booked seven nights in a double River View room and we were not disappointed. The views across the Danube to the Parliament building and to Margaret Bridge were stunning, especially at night when illuminated.

The room was very clean and had plenty of storage. The mini fridge was very useful, as was the water cooler dispenser at the boat’s front door. The en-suite wet room worked well. The wi-fi was strong.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. They happily stored our luggage after check-out, and let us sit on deck, until we headed for the airport. The breakfast was well presented and staff ensured that food items were replenished and that tables were quickly cleared after use.

This was a unique hotel experience for us. We loved it and would be delighted to return.

I wasn't too sure when I heard we were staying on a boat, but it really wasn't a problem. We were there for 3 nights, the room(cabin?) Was small, but adequate for a short break, we were only in it to sleep, trying to cram as much sightseeing as possible!
The Grand Jules is moored right next to the Margit bridge, on the Buda side, with tram, bus, hop on top off bus and train within a very short walk.
Breakfast is the only meal available, but it's really good with eggs, sausage and bacon, cereals and continental style cheese and meats. There are also pastries, rolls and bread for toast. Coffee machine, various teas and fruit juices are on tap.
There's no bar, but there the reception area has a hot drinks machine, two fridges with beers and soft drinks to buy.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, with advice for trips, they can sell discounted tickets for some attractions.

One of the staff member was very kind and nice. Thanks to you i could give 2 stars, otherwise it would be 1 star. The whole ship/hotel is outdated and there is a poignant old/ musky smell in the hotel which is barely bearable even woke me up in the night. If you want to stay in the leaning tower of Pisa you can book yourself one of the rooms as you can’t stay straight in the room, even feeling like rolling from the bed. There are no charging sockets in the room nor bedside tables, you will need to take out the tv to charge your phones.outdated room also found hairs in the supposedly changed bedsheets.Bathroom shower and toilet in the same place. Once you shower you can’t use the bathroom since there will be water all over the floor and toilet . The curtains were grey colour, the furniture and the room unwelcoming and the persisting smell is depressing. It was my birthday but the hotel made no effort in this regards and said if we want another room with the river view would cost 20€ extra per night. the river view is the other star from this review as you have a nice view from the top of the boat. Breakfast average/medium with just a few choices at hand.

We stayed over New Year and I could not of wished for a better place to spend it! The staff were fabulous and so helpful throughout our stay, always a friendly face and genuinely cared about their guests, if I had any queries they were happy to help at all times.
The views from the boat are spectacular, I don’t think you would get better in the whole of Budapest, at night sat on deck is magical!
Our room was basic but was kept very clean, serviced every day and plenty of storage space, bed was comfortable and lovely and warm.
Breakfast was very good, plenty of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals , and scrambled eggs all kept replenished with beautiful views from the windows.
The boat is very quirky, their are benches on deck to sit and look over the views morning and night. We saw the new year in on deck along with other guests popping champagne watching the fireworks across the river, Perfect!
The boat hotel is in an ideal location with walking distance to most places, however if walking gets a little tiring the tram is minuets away that will take you into the Center. Lots of restaurants and bars just a walk over the bridge .
I would definitely recommend staying here and I will definitely choose to stay here again when In Budapest.
Thankyou for a wonderful stay!
