We sort of ended up there by pure chance, but it was one of the best hostels I ever stayed in. However, it all depends on what you're looking for. If you're somewhere in the age group 20-30, and looking for a fun and friendly place to stay for a reasonable price this hostel couldn't be better. On the other...

I stayed at this hostel in early May, not knowing what to expect. I was really happy to find such a centrally located, inexpensive, safe, and welcoming hostel. The owner, Gabe, is a great and funny guy with a vast knowledge on must-see places to visit in the city and how to get there. Everything was clean, free internet access...

I only stayed for one night but it was more than adequate. The dorms are arranged in an apartment style with 3 dorms in each apartment. There was an en-suite in the dorm and a further shower and toilet in the foyer of the apartment, all were clean. Staff were friendly, there was cheap beer, free internet, and tesco is...

We booked with lean back hostel and were changed to this hostel last minute Thumbs up is a great hostel - the street is pretty central [about 15 mins walk to the river] - and is in a pretty safe area. While the apartment building looks a bit old when you first see it, the hostel itself is brand new....

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
