We had a room on 6th floor overlooking the 'Sailors Castle'. The room was pretty well appointed but could have done with a bit more tea/coffee facilities. There was a mini bar and the prices were reasonable. Staff were very helpful and very friendly and great at giving info about restaurants and public transport. There is a tram stop just...

Nice and clean hotel just across the river looking at the Parliament building. Room was spacious and clean. Would recommend this hotel as it is such good value. Hotel was quiet at night time. Walking distance to the train station and even to the city center. Just a short walk over the beautiful bridge. Staff was friendly and attentive too....

We were checked in very quickly and upgraded to a river view room which was a lovely surprise. Room was a good size and room had full length windows. Room was warm, perhaps a little too warm but we slept with the windows open. Some street noise at night due to the windows being open but not that bad, no...

This hotel is ideally located on the Buda side of the Danube right on the river. Easy walking distance (about 5 minutes) to the chain bridge and the funicular to take you up to Buda castle. The staff were very welcoming and upgraded our room type on arrival to a river view room where we had the most stunning view...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
