I've stayed in may Intercontinental hotels. This one was very nice but I'd say it was just a little shy of the overall room quality and comfort of some of the others in USA. The service was impeccable and food of good quality. Beds very comfortable and valued after a long day on feet, doing all planned touristy things. The...

Stayed for a weekend, was completely satisfied. Only breakfast in the lounge was a bit poor in means of variety. Had a minor issue in the bathroom and with cleanliness in the room, both were fixed 15 minutes after my call. Friendly concierge in the lounge named Beata.

I have stayed at this hotel many times of the years, both on business and for pleasure. The hotel used to be, in my mind, the premium 5* property in Budapest. However, that is not the case any more. The interior is becoming dated and, though it is being maintained, faults are starting to show, especially in the bathrooms. These...

Intercontinentals are great hotels but this one has something extra about it - the view. It is located at an UNESCO World Heritage Site with a fantastic view over the Danube river. The extra cost of a room with a river view is definitely worth it. One other thing. Every day when I went down for breakfast they had already...

Food is not very good and it's very expensive for the quality they serve... But installations are very good and the gym is awesome! They have spa and beauty salon. The employees are very customer oriented and always willing to provide the best service. The treatment to the customer is perhaps a bit too protocoled and stifling though

We stayed at the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We selected a club room with a river view and oh my what a view. The night view in particular is spectacular with the castle district lit on the other side of the river. During the day you can enjoy the river traffic sliding past your window. The club is...

Excellent hotel with well-appointed, comfortable rooms. Staff is genuinely hospitable and we appreciated the service here. The location makes this an attractive lodging option. Just a few steps outside the hotel for access to the #2 tram (running parallel to the river), a short walk across the street to catch the #16 bus running to Buda Castle, and only a...

Our stay at this hotel was exceptional. Our room, number 911, we took a deep breath when told this, was a corner one on the top floor(9th) and the views were just so good we stayed in our room for dinner. Room Service was excellent. Our meal was wheeled in on a mobile table set beautifully, and the food was...

The hotel is in a great location right on the Danube. Views from the river view rooms are well worth the extra cost. Rooms are of a good size and reasonably decorated, the main down point is the bathroom which is very small. In addition the rooms could do with an update. The hotel bar is very good, excellent and...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
