It was an awful experience. Where to begin from?! The sheets were ripped, the bath tube was broken, the room stinked such as the fridge, and the floor was really dusty, it was like it wasn’t even cleaned before we entered it. The staff was rude (except of the morning shift receptionist who was also the only one speaking english). The hotel has a vending machine which doesn’t even contain water bottles and the only solution there is, is to cross the highway to go to a store in a petrol station! And finally, there was a condom from some previous guests, stuck under the bath hole (honestly) 😂. Even though it wasn’t expensive, I feel sorry for the money I spent to stay one night in that hotel but if it’s the only solution you have in an emergency, it’s “fine”.
Too high price for just a room with old bed. Wc and shower work because I am familiar with plumbing and had soviet era experience how to operate partly broken facilities. Cleanliness fit to moment when you just cannot say that room is dirty. there are no coffee available at late night instead you drink instant drinks or be ready to run a mile for coffee from Circle K petrol station. So it is possible to decide that price is similar to another hotels, but only thing what is good in this place is location and accessibility.
I found this hotel on the internet and it looked as though it would be within walking distance of the conference center in Vilnius. However, that was not the case in reality. The trolley was convenient and economical and thanks to the helpful front desk staff I rode the trolley back and forth to the conference center and also to the "old city". The room is tiny by western standards but the bed was comfortable, the room clean as was the bathroolm. I had the breakfast on several mornings as there is no other dining in the area; it was limited and rather sparse- a piece of fruit would have been welcome but again my view is from the West. The coffee was excellent. I should have used my language app on my cell phone and it would have not been so frustrating when I asked for butter or jam. The front desk staff was always knowledgeable and helpful. They arranged a taxi to pick me up at 4:30 AM to make my flight and carried my suitcase down the steps.…
Having decided to go to Vilnius for sightseeing and shopping, I started looking for hotel to stay there. The hotel "Velga" was easy to find on the sites offering accomodation to stay and I was able to make on-line booking. When I came to the hotel, I was pleased to find out, that my room was much better, than it looked in the photo. There was everything for a shot stay (my trip lasted only two days): a bathroom, a double bed, atable, a wardrobe, bedside tables, TV. Besides that, the room was very clean. The price wasn't, it included breakfast. So, I left very satisfied with my stay.
The hotel is very good located for those who travel by car. Clean and neat, very quiet. We didn't have breakfast, nevertheless we were quite satisfied with the service. The only thing - we couldn't find it very quickly, as it didn't have any signage on the building.
