Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Exceptional hotel for a reasonable price. Very comfortable, clean and helpful and polite staff throughout the hotel. I enjoyed a massage in the spa which I would recommend too. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of quality choice. Lovely sized rooms and facilities.

My husband and I stayed here over Christmas and had a very enjoyable stay. The room was large and I enjoyed the literary quotes around the room. The breakfast has a wide selection and was always replenished quickly and kept very clean. We found the bar and restaurant staff extremely welcoming and professional. They really made our stay extra special. The spa is a delight and was a perfect way to spend Christmas day.

Amazing stay, in one of the suites facing the park and Old town. The design and the decor of the room was stylish and beautiful, the bathroom with bathtub with a view was absolutely gorgeous and most spacious. The bedding, pillows and blankets where so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed. The service is excellent, the breakfast is tasty. The little spa is cute but needs some renovations and I would advise to have hot water in the hottub :) Loved the hotel, the beautiful common areas and the restaurant. Most recommended despite soem flaws on the spa side.

Honestly don’t know where to start with this Hotel, firstly on arrival they wanted to charge me an extra €150 “just in case”…this can take up to 10 working days to return to my account. But the real issue is they have charged me an extra £784 which they are refusing to accept that they have done. Despite me providing proof of the amounts coming out of my bank account they are denying all knowledge!!! I really wish I’d never set foot in this hotel…it’s 2 days before Xmas and I’m £784 out of pocket with no way of getting it back!!! Beware when booking this hotel…they steal your money then deny all knowledge!!! I’m at my wits end!!

Excellent choice great location and very tidy hotel. Service from pleasant staff was first class. The room was spacious and super clean. Leisure facilities were good with a decent size pool, saunas, steam room etc. Sadly not enough time to explore the local area.

We visited at the start of advent. I am not one for focusing on the hotel, it's the location that usually matters more. I may be converted. This hotel upon arrival was brilliant. The rooms are very comfortable but it's the breakfast with prosecco as an option along with the amazing buffet that sets you up for the day. The cocktail bar is also a wonderful space to relax in. Ask for the pisco sour. If you're not sure then you will be recommended something. One surprise was the restaurant. If you don't fancy dining out, then the food here is excellent. Location wise you are in the centre of it all. The park across the road is beautiful in the snow.

The excitement. Of waking up. Opening luxurious curtains. Trees twinkling. Bastejkalna Central park dusted in snow. All of our requests were skilfully dealt with from private transfers to restaurant reservations. Lunch at Chefs Corner was unforgettable. Fish soup; seafood bisque with bread and aioli butter. Then strip loin and burger perfection. Unmissable. As was the mulled cherry wine at Piana Vyshnia. Room three eleven was a fairy tale. Management team Ilona and Dainis dealt skilfully with our requests. Credit to their exceptional customer service and professionalism. Trust the Grand Poet. Feel held in the safest hands.
