My favourite hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday filled with fun.. Son Bou is 100% the place.
We've been back 3 times to this hotel and funnily enough the staff remember us! 😂
The staff are lovely and are always up for a laugh throughout the hotel whether it's in the Reception, Dining hall, cleaners, entertainment.
The entertainment of a night is great for the kids and they really do look like they're having fun. However, if you may not want to listen to the Children's entertainment for an hour or two before the adult entertainment comes on, you can chill out by the pool with a drink and listen to relaxing music whilst you wait.
Honestly my favourite hotel and I'd definitely go back again.
The drive down to the beach only takes roughly about 5 minutes and is filled with air conditioning so it isn't that bad. Manuel, the bus driver, is lovely and again is always up for a laugh.
Everyone's so friendly and that's what we love.
Hotel rooms, yes are a little bit dated and could do with a bit of maintenance. However, they are always clean and smell absolutely gorgeous. Bed sheets are cleaned everyday. The hotel room could be updated, however, they are suitable as you can are only really sleeping and getting ready. The beds are very comfy.. tried to fit it in my suitcase as they were very comfy but didn't work out... 😂😂😂

10000% recommended staying here. Son Bou has a lot to offer.
There is a Cafe called The Buddah Lounge which serves the best coffee and the best chocolate milkshakes! The woman at the cafe also remembered us!! And she is the most welcoming person!
I love Son Bou and I 100% recommend if you have children.

The hotel staff were excellent, the amenities were very good, a lovely sized pool with a separate baby pool. The all inclusive package was excellent value for money, the cocktails were lovely and the beer was San Miguel. There was a fantastic variety of food for snacks and main meals.
The beach is amazing, we visited almost daily, the sea was warm and lots of space on the beach for all the family. It was about a 20 minute walk down hill to the beach or a hotel bus is available every hour.
We visited from the 18th July for one week, it was a different experience due to covid 19 but we felt very safe as everything was very clean.
Would definitely recommend this area for a holiday and certainly this hotel.

Valentin Son Bou is a large hotel situated on the hilly outskirts of Son Bou. It is about a 20 minute walk downhill to the beach and shops, and a very steep uphill walk on the way back. Luckily the hotel has a free mini bus that runs in the mornings and late afternoon to evening. However, it may be better to hire a car to explore Menorca. As Menorca is a small island, nowhere is too far from Son Bou, and the hotel has a large free car park.

The hotel itself is showing its age a bit. The bedrooms and ensuites are a bit dated, and could do with a revamp, but the public areas and outdoor pool space are excellent. We booked a sea view room on the third floor, which gave us lovely views, but also meant we had the noise from the pool bar, outdoor disco and various activities. Activities die down by about 11pm though, and the room was quiet at night. The full sun hit the balcony from lunchtime onwards, so it was only comfortable to sit there in mornings and late evenings. The in-room safe cost 20 Euros for the week with 5 Euros returned when we checked out. The room has a fridge, hairdryer and free wifi. There are no tea making facilities in the room.

The food at the Son Bou was excellent, with plenty of choice every day. We were half board so ate breakfast and evening meals here daily. The restaurant is large and gets very busy and can seem quite frenetic. However, there is a small outdoor terrace which seats about 50 people (attached to the side of the restaurant facing the outdoor stage) which offered a much quieter and relaxed experience. Meals are buffet self service and staff are efficient at clearing plates and restocking dishes. There is an unlimited drinks offer during dinner for 4 Euros, which proved very good value. Drinks are self-served from from “taps” in the restaurant and include soft drinks plus red and white wine, sangria and beer.

The entertainment was of a higher standard than we expected, and during our week included singers, acrobats and a children’s clown. There is also a free daytime programme of activities including yoga, pilates, acquagym, spinning, darts and snooker. It’s not always obvious where some of the activities take place, but Reception can advise if you’re not sure. A map next to the activities board would have been useful.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our week at the Son Bou.

I stayed here for 2 nights in October towards the end of the summer season. This hotel is very nice, clean, spacious and well set out. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I was on half board (Breakfast & Evening Meal) and the food was beautifully set out with vast choice and freshly prepared with choice for meat eaters and non meat eaters. No complaints about the food at all and evening meal was usually a themed evening (Mexican one evening from memory) although you could still get the usual array of dishes even on themed nights.

My room was comfortable, clean and fit for purpose with a flat screen TV and fridge and was overlooking the main pool and gardens. I slept well both nights as the area is very quiet.

The hotel is about 10-12 minutes from the beach and main strip for the bars and shops although a steep walk if on foot. The area though is very safe to walk about.

The hotel does provide a free regular minibus though to and from this area and it runs pretty much bang on time although finishes about 19.00 I believe so don't get caught out as the walk back after a few glasses of wine or beer would be hard work.

Overall this hotel is lovely although slightly hidden away from the beach but the free minibus service compensates for that.

I happily endorse this hotel and would be more than happy to stay here again.

Fantastic week in menorca staying at the exemplary Valentin son bou. Everything about this place is top notch especially the food, the staff and the cleanliness. A+++++.
May well have helped that the hotel was probably only half full meaning that at any time of day we could get sun beds for six of us no problem at all. The restaurant was amazing with show cooking every night and plenty of choice for even the fussiest of eaters. The pool area was spotless with the lifeguard sanitising sunbeds every hour.
All the paperwork required for any holiday this year is well worth wading through so go for it especially menorca and especially this wonderful hotel.

We have been coming to the Valentin Son Bou for several years and have lost count of how many times we have stayed here. The hotel is spotlessly clean with spacious rooms and well kept public areas. The pool looks wonderful with many sun beds but we have yet to use this facility due to the close proximity to the stunning Son Bou beach.

The hotel is on top a very steep hill but there is a courtesy bus running to and from the beach every half hour. Having said this we usually rent a car and on this occasion, even though the hotel was absolutely full and the resort very busy we still managed to acquire one without pre booking in the UK. Renting a car was far more expensive than in previous years and the fuel just as expensive as in the UK but we did expect this.

The food in the hotel was brilliant! A €4 per person beverage deal is available for the evening meal and you will get unlimited wine, beer, soft drinks etc on tap which seems to be good value for money. We must say the food has always been good but on this our more recent holiday at the Valentin, we felt there to be a big improvement in the quality and selection of food.

The small adults only indoor bar was closed throughout our stay so we presumed this was a covid measure? We do hope this bar will be available in future however it was very pleasant having drinks outside and in the large entertainment area where a DJ played music.

The beds in this hotel are extremely comfortable and we heard this mentioned by other guests.

Our only little gripe was that there seemed to be some confusion over being able to access an early breakfast as we had an early flight. We did ask at reception and our name and room number recorded only to find that on the day there was no record of this so consequently we had to start breakfast at the usual time of 7.30 am and we did feel very rushed. I don't know if anything can be done about this.

We expect to return to this lovely property with it's excellent staff in the none too distant future. Menorca is a fabulous destination and it never disappoints.

Check in was very simple, beach towels are provided and if not returned there is a 15 euros charge. There is a daily shuttle bus that takes you to the beach and back from 9am - 1pm and 4pm - 8pm. The walk to the beach takes around 15mins, although the journey back is harder as it’s on an incline. Breakfast options are great ranging from cooked breakfast, fruits and continental foods. The pool was beautiful with water activities on for children and adults, the beach was sandy with crystal clear shallow waters.

The hotel and its grounds are maintained to the highest of standards and is spotlessly clean with every detail being attended to. The staff greet you and smile and this is shown by the director and sub-director who are always in attendance and ensuring everyone has their needs catered for. We have stayed at many hotels but it is most unusual to be able to see and speak to the senior management - such people frequently hide away and leave their staff to face any criticisms. We were in the hotel when it was full and the evening meal could be extremely busy but tables were cleared and reset in haste to avoid too much queuing. Food variety is excellent with everything being speedily replenished when quantities on display begin to get low. The only thing we miss is having skimmed milk for breakfast. There are a number of other milks available but not skimmed which surely must be one of the three basic milks taken by the majority of people.
The half hourly beach bus is necessary, especially the return from Son Bou, though the lunch time break between 1 and 4 o'clock is probably too long an interval and it would also be good if there was perhaps an hourly run from 6pm - 10pm. Understandably, the demand on Manuel, the ever punctual bus driver, would be too great. It is good to see the swimming pool attendant patrolling and always on the alert rather than, as witnessed by us in many establishments, sitting on his/her phone all day. There are always ample sun beds without the need for reserving them and the evening entertainment is both varied and can eg. Abba tribute, excellent. Some of the hotel rooms and apartments can appear rather dated but considering the way they are kept so clean it is a small price to pay for this. Many thanks again for a great holiday.

This hotel is exceptionally clean and welcoming. The staff are all excellent and there are plenty of them to meet your every need. The hotel is on top of a very steep hill and so the use of the beach courtesy bus was very welcome, it runs every half an hour with a couple of hours break in the afternoon. The sea view rooms are wonderful and catch the sun most of the day. The only problems I found were in the restaurant, there is no plate warmer and so as soon as the well prepared food was put onto a cold plate the food went cold very quickly. The soup was not warm enough on two nights and I reported it to the restaurant manager. There is a microwave available so I used that one night. The omellete in the morning was lovely and you could choose your own filling. I did think though at the grill that the cook should have been washing his hands in between touching raw meets and cooked meets and was weary about the choice on the grill after i witnessed a lack of attention in his hand washing

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a three night getaway. The hotel is clean and bright and the reception were efficient and had us checked in quickly. There was a small island tax to pay on arrival, but beach towels were supplied free of charge. Which can be changed for €1 per towel. The room was a little dated but very clean and the beds were very comfortable with excellent pillows. Within the bathroom there is complimentary shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. Also bottles of water had been left in the minibar which was a nice touch.
The pool area is spacious, plenty of sunbeds to go around and again really well kept and clean. My only gripe is that service at the pool bar was a little slow.
The food had a decent choice/selection and was always hot with no queues. The alcohol/drinks in the restaurant was serve yourself which would have benefitted the pool bar too to speed up the service.
The local brand drinks and cocktails were of good quality and the measures were large, which was also good.
The evening entertainment for the three nights was good and people were up dancing.
All In all I am very happy with my stay and would happily return with the children next summer for a longer holiday
