We stayed here with our dog for 4 nights and we were disappointed with our stay. The room was quite large with a very large bed and the only other times we have had a bed that size was on cruise ships. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over it; a large sink in a vanity unit which was so big that the toilet was squashed up in a corner. The only disappointment with the bathroom was the lack of good quality bathing products. Our biggest disappointment was with the food and the buffet breakfast on the first day was almost inedible. The food had in our opinion been left keeping warm for far too long and the eggs resembled those you can purchase in a joke shop and the bacon was like cardboard and would not have come amiss on the soles of my shoes, in fact the only item that was ok was the baked beans. The breakfast did improve slightly on subsequent days but someone should tell the chef that the secret of a good buffet breakfast is to bring small quantities of food out at a time and more often so the items are always fresh. It is a pity that we did not enjoy the breakfast as the ingredients were of a good quality and we would have enjoyed them if we had managed to get them when they came fresh out of the kitchen. We had a evening meal at the hotel on the first two nights and enjoyed both meals but in was more like pub food than hotel food and the hotel seemed to be giving preference to coach parties as they dined in the main restaurant and had access to the 3 coarse menu that we had seen on the hotel website and which we thought we would have access to. Another problem we found was that there seemed to have been a lack of training of the staff as one of the first thing waiting staff should be told was when returning to the kitchen or bar never to pass a table with empty plates or glasses on them. The hotel also needs some signs pointing out the no smoking and smoking areas. My wife was embarrassed to be told, when sitting at a table outside, that it was a no smoking area, but there were no signs to say so. Also they need signs, where you can smoke, pointing out that it is a smoking area reserved for smokers as a lot of time none smokers were sitting there and there was no seats left for smokers. Another problem with the smoking area was that no member of staff was assigned to it and glasses were left on the tables for hours at a time and we never saw them sanitised during the day. Also at £15.00 per night for your dog I would have expected some facilities to be provided for them. There should at least be a bin on the car park just for dog poo bags as we had to store them in the boot of our car until we found a bin on our travels. All in all I believe the AA got it right by giving it a 3 star rating as that is all I feel I could give it and I think I am being generous at that.

Similar issues to others who have commented. Temperature of water for shower was only luke warm. Tried to adjust but made no difference. The heater in my room kept making rather loud bursts of noise of a kind of metallic nature, which didn't help for getting off to sleep. I was busy during the day and didn't think to mention it to reception as I assumed it was an ongoing issue as there was also a very noisy radiator on the corridor 2 rooms down from my room.I also spent some time trying to get the TV working as it was set on radio and in this obviously took up what was meant to be some relaxation time after a long drive! Also in terms of the cleanliness in the bar where people were eating and drinking it is correct that the tables were wiped over with the same cloth, altho some sort of spray was used . In general the accomodation was average and was fine if you just wanted the room to sleep and weren't seeking any luxury. It's a shame that it isn't slightly upgraded with more modern furniture in the rooms and better showers. Then it could possibly be more like 4* rather than 3* as it's location is very good for many areas ,including Chester of course.Staff were pleasant and the waiting staff in the bar were helpful and friendly.Cannot complain about the price which included breakfast and I stayed during the week but my room had a wall for a view. I wouldn't go for the weekend as I think the hotel relies heavily on Weddings and guests could then be pretty noisy after their celebrations. Obviously I'm talking in terms of 'normal' circumstances'

We use an anti bacterial spray on all tables and al our cloths look the same but aren't necessarily the same cloth. Judging by the previous reviews it would appear that one's view of the hotel depends very much upon the room allocated so, being part ot of a coach party, we were not very optimistic.

How wrong we were! First impressions were of an attractive building with a large car park. Reception was efficient though only one keycard was provided for a couple and we were immediately greeted by the duty manager with offers of tea/coffee and cake which set the tone.

Our room (132) was downstairs along lengthy corridors and appealed immediately by its size and furnishing. Although not obviously recently re-furbished it was clean with plenty of storage and hanging space - and hangers - with two comfortable chairs. The beds were firm but provided a sound night's sleep. Tea and coffee with kettle and biscuits were provided. An electric radiator adjustable by guests was useful to top up the temperature in the room.

The bathroom was large and sparkling but rather let down by the shower over the bath which used a plastic curtain which always billowed in while in use and was rather unpleasant. The management might also consider whether for hotel that accepts touring groups probably biased towards elder clients it would help to provide grab handles in the shower. Water was very hot with plenty of pressure

The food provided for our party whilst obviously not of gourmet quality was of a high standard and most acceptable, served by well trained and pleasant staff.

All in all we would be very happy to return here to a well organised and comfortable hotel. Thanks to all involved at Beaufort Park.

First the positive: there were a lot of sanitizing gel dispensers around the whole facility, which was quite surprising. So you could clean your hands after touching every door in public areas.
Now the not so positive things. Very outdated hotel overall. Strange design, old carpets etc. Felt like we went back in time to 70s or 80s. Its supposed to be a hotel where people have weddings, I honestly cant see myself getting married in this kind of place. Needs a lot of renovation and updating to be a lovely wedding destination.
We had double room for 2 nights. Very old decore, no bed side lights, so reading a book was very inconvinient. Website said we should have hair dryer and trousers-press, didnt have either of those. The broken bed added a little to our disappointment along with significant patches of black mold in bathroom in places that were above the reach of the cleaners. The shower fluctuated from scalding hot to nordic chill without warning. We notified reception about the bed, but no one came to examine the problem over the weekend. Whole room could use a proper spring clean. TV only had 2 channels, we were informed that this is due to a local transmitter fault, "only temporary" but so was our residency.
First morning breakfast was okey, although we did have to make an effort to attract attention to be served (self service being suspended during the current crisis). Sunday morning breakfast was absolute chaos. I understand with pandemic, everything is different, but there was a lot of unhappy customers that morning, because staff had no organisation whatsoever. Staff served or took an order for one table at a time but walked back empty handed which was incredibly innefficient. No one person seemed to be acting as team leader, this resulted in a restaurant full of uncleared tables and a queue outside the dining room of guests waiting to be seated. We waited around 20 minutes to be served nasty one star tea bag on a pot and an inexplicably 'Welsh' breakfast. People who arrived right after us, were sitting there without anyone even talking to them to take their order by the time we had finished our breakfast.
In conclusion. This is a cheap hotel, with Poundshop values. We will not return.

Nice-sized room, table and chairs, wardrobe a bit intrusive, TV in far corner and not on a swivel bracket, bed very comfortable, carpet and decor a bit tired, fan in bathroom needs replacing, so noisy, sink plug wrapped with insulating tape to make it seal - it didn't. Hot water very. Staff friendly and responsive. Paid for cooked breakfast, biggest disappointment, scrambled egg dry and inedible, love bacon but the same and removed it from future orders. Evening selection of starters the best I've ever had and Cesar Salad lovely.Parking easy.

My fiancé and I came to this hotel for a Valentine weekend getaway.

Parking: It was great parking with lots of spaces and accessible location.

Entrance hall and staff: The lady at the reception must have been having a bad day because she was rude and condescending. Not bothered about our problems with the room we were in which made us feel upset and unwelcomed.

The room: We paid £114 for one night in the executive double room. The room was okay in size but the out-dated decor and a tiny, shabby looking bathroom with a smaller than standard size bath. The WiFi didn't work so we decided to put the TV on. It's has got Freeview but the TV kept turning itself off. The lights would flicker and then the TV went blank like someone was messing with the electrics. In the end, we gave up but the lights still flickered. I have epilepsy so we had to turn the lights off too. We asked to move to a different room but was told they hadn't anything else. We then asked for a refund so we could go home and they also refused because we had 'signed a contract'. The kettle didn't work so we couldn't have a cuppa. Two of the plug sockets on the wall didn't work. We were just feeling so disappointed and miserable at this point.

Noise: There was a 'party/function' on so we could hear every single person partying and being loud. This literally went on all night... and when I say all night, I mean it. It was 1:30 am when we woke up first because of the drunk guests slamming doors and laughing really loud. This happened again at 2:10 am, 3:30 am and straight through to 7 am. I appreciate it's a party and I'm really glad that the guests enjoyed themselves because they definitely had a good night but unfortunately, at out disadvantage.

Price: As mentioned above, it was £114 for the room. No breakfast or tea included in this either so it was incredibly pricey for the room we got.

Overall, we will sadly not be going there again. The only good thing about this night away was being with my fiancé and the complementary 'Biscoff' we got.

Good Afternoon Many thanks for taking the time to inform us of your experience. I'm sorry that it was not an enjoyable stay. I do not have an excuse for the behaviour of the receptionist and I will be investigating this further and speaking to them. Customer Service is our number one priority. As i'm sure you are aware we have been experiencing some extremely bad weather over the last couple of weekends and this has effected our television signals and we may have been experiencing power surges which would effect the lights. Unfortunately, we do not have control of other guests actions but there is a duty manager and night manager available 24/7 and should you have informed them of the disturbances I'm sure this could have been dealt with immediately. When we are informed of guests issues we endeavour to rectify them during their stay or offer alternatives to somewhat go to restore your faith in us and the hotel. I hope that you will change your mind and stay with us again should you be in the area so that we can show you that this was an isolated instance. Please contact me directly should you require a night stay in the future All the best with your future wedding plans. Kind regard Beccy Cliffe Executive Assistant

We were brought here as part of a National Holidays mystery tour. The hotel is large, had lots of functions going on on the night we stayed, and seems to be very popular.

Our rooms (there were 16 in our group of friends) were all clean and comfortable, though a little dated. The rack rate behind the counter stated £120 per room, which seems a bit expensive for the rooms we saw, but we all slept well.

Dinner and breakfast were both nice, and we enjoyed the hospitality in the bar area too. Can I suggest changing the supplier of the cheese served for dessert, please? The tasteless rubbery cheddar was really very poor, to the point of becoming a running joke, and out of keeping with the otherwise decent food.

We stayed for 4 night and enjoyed every minute we were in the hotel.
Our room was large and clean, the bed huge and the tv a good size. Despite Corona Virus restrictions, everyone was happy and helpful.
We ate each night in the bar and the food was always hot and tasty, and one afternoon we enjoyed afternoon tea, which was really nice and good value.
We even had the excitement of a full evacuation at 11pm when the fire alarm went off. This was dealt with calmly and efficiently by the staff, who ensured all residents were out of their rooms and at the assembly point.
It is in a great location for visiting the surrounding attractions.
All in all, we were very happy with our stay at the Beaufort Park Hotel.

Executive Double, romantic break. The room was clean and tidy but dated. Bathroom was functional but again dated and small. Romantic package includes, Prosecco on ice, fresh strawberries and chocolates on arrival, 3 course evening meal and full welsh breakfast. The bedding was very comfy. As we visited during the Covid -19 pandemic, the hotel seemed well prepared with sanitising stations and social distancing markers. The food is fantastic, all delivered to our room. Checking in/out is swift and the staff are attentive. The only downsides were loud barking from dogs and doors slamming closed throughout the night. The room has complimentary refreshments but the kettle was full of mould/residue. Premier inn is more modern, quieter and cheaper but they don’t offer a romantic package.

Firstly i arrived to be told that i was unable to eat there due to the restaurant fully booked due to following covid guidelines only outside was open and if i would like to eat it would have to be to my room and I could order until 20.30pm. When asked if i could still get a drink again i couldn't get a drink due to having to book to get a drink?? I then processed to my room which was rather disappointing. I went to sit down and do some work when the chair i sat in then fell through. I hurt my back, the team did fill in a accident report and asked if i wanted a new chair and offered some pain killers. I then went to make myself a drink in my room as I couldn't get one from the bar - with my kettle and tea/coffee making facilities where i found my milk was two month out of date, as well as the biscuits with some of them five months out of date. At this point i was getting to my whits end, i then decided about 20.15 to order some food as i was feeling very sick after falling through the chair i wasn't ready for anything earlier. I then went to order and the kitchen had closed? Even though the menu in my room stated 20.30 was last orders. I have never had such a bad experience in a hotel it was just one thing after another and all i got from the staff was oh your not having any luck are you. I have been on painkillers since friday night i cannot believe that a hotel that has due reopened haven't checked the safety in their rooms......

Good Afternoon Please accept my sincere apologies for the shortfalls that you encountered during your stay. I have spoken to housekeeping with regards to the out of date milk and biscuits and they have now checked all rooms. I have also spoken to the chef and waiting on team and ensured that they are fully aware of the times and that they cannot stop prior to this. Due to Covid-19 all hotels in Wales have to follow the Welsh Government guidelines. One of their guidelines at present is that we are unable to serve food or drink in our bar or restaurant. It has to be outside or as a room service. We hope that this will change as from 3rd August. Emails have been sent out to all guests prior to their stay reminding them of this. I'm sorry if you did not receive this prior to your stay. These are not our normal standards and I hope that you will give us a second chance. Should you be in the area again please do not hesitate to contact me and I will ensure that you receive the service that you should have received. Kind regards Beccy Cliffe Executive Assistant

Not 100% sure as I can't remember seeing any dogs in the lounge area. There are hotel rooms that do open out into the car park. There are some stunning walks around Mold including Moel Famau but I wouldn't take the car up there as it's a very narrow road!
