Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Starts with the location, an accessible property right on the edge of town, and just on the route to or from Spain. The facilities are all quite nice with a little bit of everything, and a lot more on the family theme. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, they did everything as planned. Really nothing to mention, must be one of the best hotels I’ve been to in Portugal. Great value for money for sure.

Having visited the hotel on numerous occasions for lunch/dinner my husband & l where extremely disappointed with the answer to our recent request. We asked if our family who were over visiting us and joining us for lunch at the hotel (family of 6) whether it would be OK to use their facilities ie pool and were met with a very curt NO ! We have in the pass recommended this hotel to family & friends & stayed here ourselves many times before purchasing our apartment. Never again! Extremely rude & unnecessarily response. On this particular day the hotel was practically empty except for one couple around the pool. It is of course a quiet period now as end if season.

Hotel spot on friendly staff throughout very helpful..Breakfast a great selection of food hot & cold all the fruit juices fresh fruit, and seeds etc for your cereals..Restaurant has a great menu along with a children’s menu all types of food that would suit the majority of people… Swimming pool and patio area fab, also there are Sun loungers under trees at one end of the pool….Only a 6 minute transfer in to Tavira either from the hotels courtesy bus or taxi or Uber which has a good service and what we used….If you have the app just use it…simples… They have a large free car park if you have a rental car……Towels are supplied for the pool area which are large ! Just a returnable deposit needed… Rooms clean and modern… Great for anybody who plays golf/and road biking !!

What a lovely Hotel. The property is excellent, the pool and gardens are so well cared for and it is like a little oasis. The staff were so kind and helpful from Michael and Rita at Reception, Tiago in the Restaurant and the amazing waitstaff at Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Gluten Free Options were great with bread and muffins offered each morning. Breakfast was exceptional. It was a really chilled out lovely time in Tavira and the Hotel was most definitely a huge part of that.

The hotel was nicely decorated and designed. The pool area was very clean and a nice environment. The rooms were also clean, with comfortable beds and a good shower. Unfortunately when we arrived one of the rooms had an unpleasant smell. When we mentioned this at reception they said housekeeping would look into it, but nothing was mentioned further. We then found that the room door was faulty, and was not locking properly. When we returned from meals in the evening, we found the door ajar, despite being shut when we left. We mentioned this at reception, and again they said they'd look into it, but nothing was done, despite mentioning that we had valuables in the room. The obvious course of action would have been to fix it immediately, or move us to a different room, but neither was offered, which feels like quite a major issue. The offering at breakfast was good, and there were a few members of staff that were especially helpful and friendly in the Orangea restaurant. The food here was ok, but would recommend ordering simpler dishes. On the whole, our stay was enjoyable, but issues were not dealt with as they should have been, which would make us rethink returning.

This was supposed to be the MASSIVE treat of our stay in the Algarve. My expectations were set by the €171 price for 1 night. It was a let down. It started off well, a bell boy professionally took our bags to our room. We were given a voucher for a welcome drink and two pool towel tokens. The service didn’t feel very personalised to the fact we were only staying for one night and we were checking in at 4.30pm. We were told all about shuttle buses that were really irrelevant. My friend had an early flight from Faro the next morning. She said the breakfast would not be early enough for her. They said they would give her a packed lunch. So we went to the pool, that was the best bit. I went to the pool toilets, the lock was broken on one toilet door and the other had no toilet paper. Then I went to the bar to get our welcome drinks. I approached the bar and asked for a drink, they said yes I could have a drink. No menu was provided. I said do they have mock tails, sem alcool. They gave me two options, I only heard the second one ‘pineapple’ so I said yes to pineapple. Then I asked if they had a Pina Colada. Yes they said, ok, 8€ each was charged. They brought the drinks down to the pool, that was nice. One was green and the other looked like a pina colada. Very confusing. My friend needed to have no alcohol. So we tasted them both, green was like a mojito, yellow was like a virgin pina colada. Waitress must have realised we were not getting what we were expecting but no offer to resolve. We were just sort of expected to put up with it. Then after the pool I tried to return my very wet towel to reception. The usual format is that you would receive the token back and then in the morning be able to get a clean dry pool towel. I was looked at like I was insane and asked, “do you not want it anymore?”. I pulled myself together and agreed I should take the damp towel back to my room and attempt to dry it myself on the balcony so I can reuse it in the morning. Dinner, the restaurant only had three reservations of which we were one. We didn’t get choice about where to sit. It was unclear if the indoor part of the restaurant was open. We would have preferred indoors but it wasn’t offered and we were too British to fuss. It was then we were given the drinks menu; I could now see that the mojito that I had already consumed was APPLE. I have a FODMAP intolerance to apples. So my heart and stomach sunk as I knew I wouldn’t sleep well. On to the food, my friend ordered a burger. I asked about the Bao buns on the tapas menu, I was trying to work out what they were. The waitress just kept telling me they were fresh. I gave up and ordered pork lagartos and fried sweet potato chips with satay. I tried to judge the portion by the price 16€ so comparable with my friends hamburger at €18. The ‘chips’ were crisps, the satay was a seasoning not a sauce and the pork lagartos although delicious were not substantial. My friend’s hamburger was raw, not pink, just actually not cooked and dangerously raw. They did quickly bring out a new one but I was nearly finished eating by this point as my friend had eaten her chips first before cutting her burger in half and discovering it’s rawness. We ordered dessert because I was still starving. The strangest thing was that half way through the meal this waitress just walked directly over to our table. Stood there and stared at us and then said ‘oh sorry’ and walked away. It was so strange and a bit spooky. After dinner we felt our holiday mood was smashed up to be honest, there was no atmosphere in this desolate place. No other holiday makers enjoying a drink or anything at 9pm. So we decided to revert to ‘working from our hotel room’. We went in our hire car to the local Worten and got a paper shredder and carried on with our administrative tasks. I didn’t want to stay in the hotel for my morning by the pool, my flight was at 13.40 so I could have read my book and relaxed. I choose to leave at 7am with my friend. Lucky for me, cause they had packed breakfast for the both of us, another misunderstanding. Like I said the service was not personalised. We tried to get the welcome drinks taken off the dinner bill. I had had a Prosecco and my friend had a Coca Cola Zero. We were told it HAD to be orange juice or Prosecco and they had to be got at the same time. If we were told that, we would have ordered two Proseccos at the beginning of dinner. My friend doesn’t drink orange juice. But as I’ve already said, no one in this hotel was paying us ANY attention. And yes we did pay the full 50€ for our dinner of raw hamburger and snack of pork and crisps. I would only visit here again if the hotel Ozadi gave me a complimentary night’s stay to convince me it was an off day. The things we did get for ‘gratis’ - the last guest’s Tea Bag in the bottom of the uncleaned bin. Dust or dirt specks in the white bathtub.

The most amazing hotel I've ever stayed at. Wonderful rooms, great staff. We had a faulty shower that was fixed the day we mentioned it. Amazing food. Beautiful gardens and pool. So relaxing. Bus service available into Tavira and Cabanas. This was the second time we have stayed at the Ozadi and I can't wait to go again.
