Beautiful view from the balcony of our room! Great staff! The room is perfect, comfortable and not too pricey, grabbed a great coffee in the morning from downstairs restaurant :) Great location! Right in front of the water, it was very nice waking up to the view :)

Restaurant L’hotel Akaroa We’d stayed over in Okains Bay – a 30 minutes drive from Akaroa – and looked forward to wandering the town and harking back in our collective mind’s eye >175 years and the competitive colonial claims of the French and the British governments of the day for Banks Peninsular, the South Island and/or the entire country. Hello Peter Steele, Wow where do i start? Thank you i think. I am not sure if all you notes are correct tho as we have not and do not have Westcoast waitbait and we do not have 3 pieces of bread and dipping sauce with our platter, that sounds like another restaurant along the way from us. Thanks again...

Had fish and chips foe lunsh here with our friends from England. The fish had beautiful light beer batter and the chips were crisp and delicious. We all enjoyed them very much sitting outside. Staff were pleasant and service was prompt.

Great location, easy parking this roomy, clean and tidy queen bed accommodation with great views was only marred by the fact that there was no air conditioning of fans, and it was hot weather and also no water in the fridge. The location is perfect right by the wharf ( try the grilled fish and chips on the end of...

We had a casual lunch here whilst visiting the area from overseas, great location and most of what we ordered to eat was reasonable. Unfortunately one of our meals (grilled chicken burger served in a baguette) was inedible because the baguette was hard (not just stale - but solid). I asked, politely, to tell the chief/cook. What sort of response...

Akaroa is the last town at the tip of the land east of Christchurch. The ride over the rolling hills is breathtaking!, take the high road for views then relax at L'hotel for drinks and food. The atmosphere was great and the pizza was just as good.

I'm sure this restaurant and hotel are charming when the cruise ships aren't in (how often is that?). But this is the first one right across ftom the dock so it gets quite a crowd. We couldn't sit outside but had a table right at the entrance so it was fine. The food was excellent. I was dying for mussels...

I have been here before and enjoyed our lunch. However this time there was a cruise in and the service was very average! We were not offered any water with our lunch, then when I went to pay the receptionist did not even relay our order for me to check prior to paying! Food was ok but wouldn't rave over...

Hello Jenny864, Cruise ship days and very busy and staff are put under extreme pressure by these people for fast food and over the top service. We can't please everybody and unfortunately this day was not your day. Our service on ship days is the best we can be but sometimes not what we would like it to be. Relaying...

Another place we've visited twice in the past 2 months. We have only had meals in the restaurant but you can stay also in apartments. There is a reasonable menu to choose from, also not too expensive. You can sit out in the courtyard - great on a sunny day or there is an enclosed balcony that still gives good...
