Escape to Picton is a boutique hotel & restaurant in Picton, New Zealand. The hotel is enviably sited by the town’s waterfront, overlooking the marina. Within a stone’s throw are regular boating tours of the Marlborough Sounds, and connections to the famous Queen Charlotte walking track. A mere 20-minute drive separates us from the seemingly endless vineyards of the Wairau and Awatere valleys, and the remarkable wineries dotted among them. Much thought and effort has gone into creating accommodation befitting the astonishingly beautiful surrounds. Our three suites are as different from each other as they are equally comely, each suite featuring unique pieces of exquisite handmade furniture collected over many years. We consider that one’s living environment not only reflects, but also determines one’s state of mind. Taking this as our mantra, we’ve done everything in our power to make our three suites genuine havens for our guests.

Nice downstairs room. Large bathroom with tub but unfortunately no shower. Elizabeth was a gracious hostess and chef. Dinner was overpriced for the quality of the food. Missed the full breakfast the next morning due to catching an early ferry. Location is close to harbor and ferry terminal.

Well worth a stay, so bright, clean and the spa bath is in a whole other level. This place doesn’t have a lift however there is one apartment downstairs. Our room was up a few stairs. The configuration of the room has been designed with the traveller in mind. Upon a rival there a few mini tea cakes, as well as two bottles of sparkling water in the fridge, these sorts of touches keep you returning. A gorgeous comfortable warm dressing gowns, another thoughtful touch. The bedroom is separated from the front room by a wall, see this design a lot overseas. It was quite so peaceful, and still in the CBD so in walking distance to cafes, shops excursions. There is also a wee restaurant downstairs, we didn’t get a chance to try it but there is always next time. Highly recommend X10

Beautifully decorated room right in the heart of Picton. If an an older style European boutique hotel appeals to you, then this is it. Amazing helpful, cheerful service by Elizabeth makes it enemies more memorable. What a little jewel.

An absolutely beautiful , cosy and luxurious hotel in the middle of Picton. My wife and i spent two nights in the modern suite and were just so impressed with everything. From our giant bed covered in lovely plush bedding and soft pillows to our bathroom with it's double jacuzzi, walk in shower and delightful lavender shampoos and bubblebath. High quality furniture in keeping with our rooms theme, TV with movies and sport in both rooms plus a shared balcony area with a great view. On arrival we were greeted warmly and instantly felt at home, the standard of service is amazing and thoughtful. We have stayed in some fine hotels all over NZ and Europe and both agree Escape to Picton has made it into our top 3 hotel experiences to date. Keep up the amazing work we can't wait to return.

A Lovely nights stay in the formal room at this beautiful charming and elegant historical home in Picton. The host was very welcoming and accommodating providing a comfortable stay with a late checkout. It was very close to everything Picton has to offer. Thank you.

What a fantastic hotel this is. Wouldn’t recommend any other hotel in picton. Elizabeth is the most friendliest host/chef and amazing person. The rooms are stunning, the food best we’ve had for a long while. Couldn’t do enough , Elizabeth went above and beyond, will definitely be coming back

Wow what a terrific experience this was and the only downside, our schedule meant we could only stay one night. This is a jewel in Picton dwarfed by larger properties but not dwarfed in any other respect. Absolute luxury and hopefully our pictures paint the picture. We stayed in the Modern Suite as opposed to the Formal. Just beautiful.

We have just recently stayed at Escape to Picton and what a wonderful hotel it is. The staff were amazing from start to finish. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was also amazing. Fish and Chips and the Prawn Cocktail was brilliant (prawn cocktail was a special that night). The rooms are absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend the Escape to Picton if you are looking for a nice hotel in Picton. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

Lots to like. Wonderfully helpful staff, great location and plenty of charm if you like older boutique hotels with character. We stayed in the Modern Suite for three nights , Two nights before and one after walking the Queen Charlotte Track. The staff happily looked after our luggage while on the walk and had it waiting for us in our room on return. The Modern Suite is certainly spacious and comfortable. However, its worth noting that the living room is located above the restaurant, so you can't escape the restaurant soundtrack while service is on; nor the chatter from the courtyard of the Irish Pub next door. Not excessive but it did go on to the early hours of one morning. The other rooms are likely to be more peaceful And while I recognise that Escape to Picton doesn't set out to be a"5 star" hotel (although the rates are not that far off!), couldn't fathom out why there was no small fridge in the suite (so milk didn't need to rest in a bowl of ice). And a safe, a full length mirror and more than four spare coat hangers would have been very welcome.

We spent a night and we had dinner in this hotel located in the downtown area of Picton not far from the marina. The room was comfortable with a nice bathtub (no shower). The food at the restaurant was nice and our hosts were very friendly. A nice little boutique hotel worth a visit.
