    Kaipupu Sanctuary is a nature reserve located in Picton, Marlborough. It is reached by a 10 minute boat ride, contact one of the water taxi providers to arrange transport or bring your own boat or kayak. The sanctuary is free to enter but a donation is welcomed to help us maintain the tracks and sanctuary. Kaipupu is a community project, which is lead by local volunteers to restore the forest and protect our native species. This safe haven is protected by a predator-proof fence which keeps out introduced predators such as stoats, possums, cats and rats. The charity also has an extensive trapping program which ensures any pests are stopped. The Sanctuary is free to enter and is a charming hour to 1.5 - 2 hour walk with stunning views to the Queen Charlotte Sound and Picton Harbour. The ideal destination for a morning activity.
