There are so many things that I could write about this lovely casa that I don't really know where to start. I think the highlights were the lovely roof terrace where you could hear music drifting by at almost every time of the day and where meals were served. The food was amazing, the breakfast would keep you going until...

We stayed at Hiraida and Jose's beautiful colonial house from 15th - 18th August. It was part of our honeymoon trip around Cuba and this was our favourite accommodation. Hiraida and Jose are a warm, welcoming couple and they were always happy to give us help and advice about what to visit. Jose makes lovely fresh fruit juices which are...

We arrived Hostal Amatista and Hiraida and Josè in the afternoon Sunday the 10. July, after a long taxi drive (7 hours) from Vinales. Stayed in the casa for 3 nights and had wonderful days together with our hostes. Always serviceminded and a friendly comment, and this together with excellent food at the roof terrace and a nice and clean...

After a bungled reservation at another hostel, we viewed several properties in Trinidad as a last minute alternative, also utilising Lonely Planet's suggestions. When we were about to resign ourselves to three nights of unhappiness at less than ideal hostels, we fortuitously stumbled upon Hostal Amatista. The house is located right around the main square and has huge and clean...

This was my first casa experience in Cuba and it was wonderful. It's a charming colonial style house so the bedrooms were huge with beautiful high ceilings. The rooms still had everything you needed though...aircon, fans, fridge etc. The location couldn't be better with it being just a few minutes walk to the main square and all the nice restaurants....

We were given a lovely welcome by Hiraida and Jose to their casa in Trinidad. It is very well located to the main square (2 min walk) and several recommended bars and restaurants. The breakfast was of excellent quality and served on the roof terrace. We were given gifts and juice on Father's Day which was the nicest touch of...

We stayed at Hostal Amatista for 3 nights in June and from the welcome to the farewell our hosts were all smiles and generosity. The casa itself is PERFECTLY located and is an old colonial house with everything you expect, from the high ceilings to the dark wooden furniture. We stayed in the room at the top which you access...

Hiraida and Jose are wonderful hosts. We received a very warm welcome and were delighted with are spacious rooms and large beds. We stayed here for three nights and can not speak highly enough of this casa. The room was nice, clean and the food very good! Maybe better if they had eliminated the plants around the breakfast area, so it wouldn't attract so many flies, but overall very good quality! Very friendly people! Recommended

I was in October in the hostal Amatista. First things first, José and Hiraida are extremely nice and accommodating. They make a great breakfast and dinner. The room was good and had a private bathroom, a refrigerator and an air conditioner. Next visit in Cuba, I will definitely go back over.
