This is what you are looking for - wonderful house built in 1745 and perfectly revitalised by it's owner. Beautiful interior, magical Patio with old Mango tree, amazing ambience. It's like being Alice and entering Wonderland. You just see and feel the history of colonialism. Great breakfast and best CubaLibre we had in Trinidad. We would love to stay there...

The setting is excellent, old colonial is an good name. Sat in the open inner courtyard, great atmosphere with love music playing. A good, varied menu but the lobster was excellent, cheap, full of flavour and lots of it! Memories are build on food like this. Defiantly worth a visit if you are visiting Trinidad.

We loved this casa! Everything was in true colonial feel and the courtyard was awesome. The location couldn't have been better! Barely a walk to the center, but far enough away to not hear too much noise. The bathroom was old-school, maybe could use a small upgrade but the place was awesome. Manuel was very helpful and organized a taxi...

We enjoyed staying at el Patio for many reasons. Manuel and his team are very nice and helpful, and the house is just gorgeous, filled with antiques and curious objects. The patio is magical, full of lush plants and a great place to have the breakfast (very delicious) or a drink in the afternoon. The room was exceptionally quiet for...

I can't say enough about this casa. The rooms are done very nicely-according to the age of the casa. Bathrooms are modern but the rooms have a lot of charm. Though I don't want to take away from the rooms (there are 3), the garden is spectacular. You can sit in the courtyard and enjoy the quiet with a mojito!...

The house is very beautiful, espacially the garden inside (the patio) where you will have a great breakfast and, if you want, a special dinner in the night. The bedroom and bathroom were big and clean. The forniture was amazing and very old. Daniel the owner, is very kind and ready to help you. I'll reccomend you this casa even...

Apparently, we were really lucky to get this place ! We spent five nights there and it was amazing. 2 min walking to the plaza Mayor, it is really central. It was fantastic and great value for money (50 CUC per night with breakfast). The food is nice, the patio is lovely and Manuel was absolutely charming and helpful. Go...

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere central to stay in Trinidad for 2 nights. Colonial el Patio was fantastic and great value for money. Manuel and his family were absolutely charming, helped us book bikes and made us lovely breakfasts. Manuel himself spoke English, which from what we heard was a slight rarity and very helpful! The casa...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This beautiful colonial house is located in Trinidad's historical center, just two blocks away from the Central Square and local bars (Casa de la Musica, Palenque, Casa de la Trova). The house was constructed in 1754 by the Spanish with all the architectural elements of colonial houses which have been preserved (internal patio, wooden ceiling, floral motif ornamentation of the door and window paneling). Its two rooms have been refurbished with all modern amenities. The owner and his family will certainly make you feel at home! ... more   less
