We stayed in Holguin and decided on an overnight excursion. We traveled to the resort with a driver and a tour guide. The resort is very rustic. Kind of like staying at a cabin in the woods. The staff were very nice and we really enjoyed the dinner of roast pig, plantain chips and yucca fries. I would do the...

Terrible place. Mosquitos swarm everywhere, my friends had mosquito nets over their beds and still got bites. One night a rat chewed my book that was 2 feet from my face on the bedstand and chewed my leather sandals. There are huge cracks in the doors and walls that let in bugs and rats. Chickens walk thru the restaurant, The...

There are a couple of things I wish I had known before coming here which would have made my stay so much better. One is take plenty of mosquito repellent the strongest you can as they are relentless here. Two, the chalets are made of natural materials with lots of cracks so there is lots of wildlife inside the room...

We were on a 1 week trip to the Blau Costa Verde Resort which is located about 1 hour away from Holguin. While there we decided to take the day long History and Nature tour. We expected that we would be part of a larger tour group and were pleasantly surprised to find out our family of 3 were the...

Although we arrived at 8pm in the evening it was quick to check in. Food in buffet was ok. Rooms were ok too although tired and selling damp. Once we woke up in the morning to the sound of the loud cockeral and geese we loved the area where the hotel was. Very eco friendly chalet log cabins. Breakfast was...

We were warned we would be staying in basic accommodation so were a little concerned but were amazed and delighted when we arrived. Our log cabin was cosy with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge. We also had massive built in cupboards, a fridge, CD player, TV and fans - we were expecting a shed! The beds were very...

We arrived late for our stay due a heavy thunderstorm which led to our coach getting stuck in the mud on the road on the way up but after we had all given a hand with a push and taken a detour, we reached our destination after dark. There was a distinct lack of lighting to help find our cabins...
