Okay, where shall I start! Our first time to Cuba and we both loved everything about the hotel and the country, we went with friends who have stayed at the resort before and highly recommended it, I can clearly see why.

My 3 rd visit to Paradisus. My favourite hotel.Love the staff, the rooms, great food and the size of the hotel.
Usually this is a 50+ crowd, which is great, this time there were more 18-40.I prefer this hotel to stay for the older quieter set.

My husband and I just returned home from a week at this fabulous resort, truly a week in paradise. We stayed in room 8212, the room was spacious, clean and we loved the outdoor shower. The staff at this resort are amazing, they can’t do...More
Have been to Cuba many times- this is my favourite resort so far (April 2018), although I don't know that I would go back...I'll keep it simple:
FOOD - excellent at buffet and a la carte options, definitely a step up from other Cuban resorts;...More

When you arrive you will be welcomed and you will be either attending a little quick meeting for all the tours available and also at the front desk they schedule a quick meeting for your choice of restaurants for the nights you are staying they also offer you tours and activities. Snorkeling is free, you can get the equipment where you get the towels for beach or pool. You can also on a free Catamaran ride for 30-60 minutes, but bring a couple $$ to leave as tip. When you say cheaper staying in Holguin or Havana if you mean travelling to Havana then you can definitely organize a day trip at the Hotel it will be extra cost but that also is usually offered through your airline (Sunwing offers all the activities and they are the same prices that they offer at the hotel). If you are talking about going to Havana instead of Holguin that all depends on your taste. Holguin especially Paradisus Rio de Oro is to relax and recharge natural beauty all around the Beach and Landscape is gorgeous, Havana is busy.. for discovering and exploring not really relaxing in my humble opinion...
When we stayed here the hotel were running a voucher scheme you could use these towards a day in the spa. It may be worth seeing if this scheme is still running or will be available when you travel. Have a great holiday
