This is an austere hotel in a very good location. You will beat the high DC hotel prices, but by giving up some quality, e.g., the mattresses are of dubious construction. This may a good option for a family. My room was a suite with a convertible couch and 2 double beds possibly accommodating 6 people.

I chose the hotel for the price and its location. It is one of those places which has passed its best but which is perfectly adequate for a night or two. The rooms are a bit small and short on wall plugs but the wifi worked well. The bathroom fittings are all fairly ancient but work. The surrounding area is... More

The hotel is located just off Connecticut Ave near many embassies, and just a few blocks from Obama's post-presidency home. It's close to Dupont Circle which offers dozens of restaurants. It's an older hotel kept in very good condition. The rooms are a bit dated by sparkling clean. Rates include a continental breakfast. We paid about $180 per night, which... More

This is an older hotel but its location is good. You are on your own when it comes to parking so factor in that cost if you have a car. The hotel is old, smaller , and dark. The lobby is small and dark. The room had a strong smell of disinfectant when we entered so we had to open... More

This is an older hotel that has not seen much updating, but would be perfectly adequate for most people's needs. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Their website is a bit misleading as it is a long walk uphill -- especially with luggage -- from Dupont Circle. The walk from Woodley Park is both closer and flat, but perhaps "Woodley... More

I have been traveling for business and leisure for over 30 years and have never stayed at a place so disgusting and dirty. The furniture (nightstand, lamp, chair) were all either broken or badly damaged. Indoor/outdoor carpet in room was filthy and stained, and reeked of carpet fresh. Everything in the room is rusted and too disgusting to touch. Bathroom... More

For $170/night, we got comfortable, clean room in a great location convenient to the metro, shopping, and dining. When compared to the prices other properties were asking for the time we were in DC (9/13-9/16) we were incredulous. I'm sure for the $400/night we could have of paid we would've had a more luxurious room. Our schedule for touring the... More

Nice older hotel. Good value for what you pay. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Good location, walking distance to local restaurants. Quite neighbourhood. Short trip to the White House and the other sites.

Service was very friendly and contributed to the experience. For example, we could not find the TV remote when we got to our room, I called downstairs and within two minutes, the clerk came up with a new one and tested it for us. The rooms are suite style with older furnishings. Everything is functional, but I'm sure many people... More
