We recently competed a house hunting trip that required an eight day stay at the Marriott so we had a very good opportunity to experience the hotel for an extended period of time. The hotel staff were unequivocally some of the best I’ve encountered in...More

I stayed at the Marriott Georgetown and was very impressed. Usually I am dissapointed with DC hotels, but not this one.One note: its not actually in Georgetown. It is actually in between DuPont Circle, GW University and the Convention Center, which is better in terms...More
The hotel is located just outside Georgetown proper, but in an ideal location between two metro stops (Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom/GWU) with an easy walk between the stations. Georgetown itself is about a six block or so walk to the west. However, around the...More

Perhaps it depends on the room you get. The AC vents in my room were on the wall, but close to the ceiling. I stayed in a room with a two double beds and the bed closest to the vent did get more cooling air than the bed further away.
Now that I think about it, I remember thinking that the AC lacked subtlety. It would blast cold air until the desired temperature was reached. It would blast every 10 minutes or so for about a minute or two at a time instead staying on at a lower but constant speed.
Honestly, it didn't detract from my stay here as I didn't even think to bring up the AC in my full review. I stayed here for four nights.
Hope that helps!
