We stayed here three nights and enjoyed our room and hosts. We had room 6 which had a king bed, flat screen tv and good size bathroom. Most nights we slept with the window open and had a great night breeze. Very good location to the train station and other places in the area. The hosts/owners were around and very...

You can't expect much in this town but for a historic hotel this place was much better than what we expected. When we arrived the front door was locked and we did have to call the attendant to register us. He was quite friendly and helpful. The room had a window AC, a nice flat screen tv, comfy bed, and...

If what you need is a shower and a bed to sleep in... this place is okay... as a matter of fact there are not many choices in Antonito. The hotel is about 3 blocks from the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad Station. A brief survey of the main street revealed one restaurant, two (legal) pot stores (one in the...

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Steam Train Hotel. It is an older hotel but well kept up. We were greeted promptly and allowed to choose our room, being the off-season with low occupancy. We picked the two-room suite with a kitchen and a large jetted tub. The rate was very reasonable. The staff was eager to...

Lets start by saying that some folks will find this a fun place to stay and others may not find it to their taste. It was very clean so it met our make or break criterion. The staff was great and we really enjoyed our stay. It is an old hotel and we stayed in a very basic room in...

Stayed at the Steam Train Hotel while in town for some work and the hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean, breakfast was served every morning, and the staff was so friendly. Would definitely stay here again; next time I'll spend more time visiting all the different places to see in the area.

We spent one night at the Steam Train Hotel and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the king sized bed was comfortable. There was a large selection of DVDs to borrow at no cost. The building is historic and quite interesting. Wade cooked a delicious, hearty breakfast to order for us the next morning. Would recommend staying at...

This hotel hit the sweet spot for historic properties combined with comfort. It is a 1911 hotel, updated. Small rooms (and smaller bathrooms), but bathrooms are private. Beds are comfortable. Rather than trying to go with "period" (and uncomfortable) furnishings, the décor is "design on a dime" cozy and tasteful. There is enough light to read, enough plugs to recharge...

Excellent service and the staff treated me like family. My room was wonderful and the staff always made sure my stay was great. I have recommended this place to my coworkers. This place offers a lot of history and has a lot of books about the san luis valley for anyone wanting to explore the area.

A most-unique experience, and not good. First, only one "kitchen chair" in a two room suite. We piled up luggage to turn a bed into a sofa to watch television. Watch TV? Only the channel someone else was watching, or they had to watch our channel! One cable box supplied two rooms! Not enough shower water to we the floor!...
