We recently attended the Murder Mystery at the Gibson Inn. We haven't had that much fun in a very long time! All the people we met were amazing and such a pleasure to be around. We also made some really great friends while we were there. The actors put on a great show and we loved the fact that they...

Old historic hotel, because of the age it is a little musty smelling, rooms are small, fairly clean. Everyone was friendly but don't get on the wrong side of the bartender Shawn. Very convenient for walking the old town area with many shops and eateries.

I just spent the night at Gibson Inn. The staff was very friendly and went out of the way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The place was beautiful and well maintained. Sandy was especially helpful and interested that our stay was everything we needed and wanted it to be. I would definitely stay again.

For my husbands birthday i treated him to a murder mystery weekend... it was alot of fun but the highlight of our stay was meeting Salem the cat and Kimberly at reception who was so hospitable! It is an older hotel so i loved the benefit of picking my room which was a top floor.

We spent 2 nights at this beautiful quaint hotel and really enjoyed our time there; a very peaceful and quiet location. The hotel structure itself is quite old with a lot of period furnishings remaining that enhance the overall charm of the hotel. The porches and balconies are beautiful to sit and relax on, with coffee or beverage, as well...

If you are looking for a lot of excitement Apalachicola is not the place for you. With that said we spent two nights at the Gibson Inn looking for a nice quiet relaxing weekend and were not disappointed. The room was comfortable but the relaxing was done in the rocking chairs on the second floor balcony. The continental breakfast was...

I was reluctant to stay here after reading several not so nice reviews but decided to give it a chance. I am sooo glad I did!! We found the hotel to be very nice, the front desk person was very nice and helpful. We stayed on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator but that was to be expected...

The Gibson Inn was a nice place to stay. The building is old so there are minor things that make this a 4 out of 5. The rooms and bathrooms were clean for sure. We stayed in a suite the first night on the 1st floor and that was really nice and the 2nd night we spent in a normal...

The "bed" was hard as a rock. The bathroom was smaller than found in most RV'S. The day we checked in, the attendant was less the hospitable. The "breakfast" was a bagel and cream cheese. The entire trip definitely wasn't worse the expense you didn't have the historical appeal as advertised. We will not make the trip again for such...

We had a great time-attended a Murder Mystery Weekend and it was all we had hoped it would be. We rented 2 rooms. One room was quite large with a Queen bed and a daybed and the other was a Queen bed only but we brought in a rollaway. The décor was terrific and so different from my usual places....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Gibson Inn is a fine example of Florida "Cracker" Architecture. This was the style of wood frame structure used widely in the 19th and early 20th century in Florida. These homes and businesses are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors, high ceilings, center hallways, and large wrap around porches. A widows walk and cupola crown the tin roof, all a reflection of the area's steamboat past. Built in 1907 of native heart pine and black cypress, the inn soon became known as a first class luxury hotel and was the only one between Pensacola and Jacksonville heated entirely by steam. Now listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Many of the 30 guest rooms are uniquely appointed with authentic antique furnishings, cable TV, telephone, and wireless internet. Each guest room has its own full private bath. ... more   less
