Stopped at the Gibson while motorcycling around Florida and Georgia trying to find a place to stay before the rain came. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The room was small but nicely decorated, ac worked and there was a ceiling fan. The bar was nice and the restaurant staff and food was superb. The wrap around porch on both...

Room was small but cheerfully decorated. Loved the helpfulness of the staff and the friendliness of guests. Location perfect for walking around town. Particularly helpful was our conciege, Zanna, who made many helpful suggestions and reservations. Good restaurant too . European breakfast complimentary.

We enjoyed our stay in this old, historic inn. This was our first visit to the area and the hotel had been recommended by friends. The Inn has been preserved with updates that maintained the Inn's authenticity. Zanna and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast is light fare. We also recommend eating at Gormley's restaurant.

We spent a weekend here at The Gibson Inn during one of their murder mystery weekends. We absolutely loved it! Not only was the event fun but the accommodations were perfect! Our room was clean, comfortable, and the attention to detail was excellent. We will certainly be back!

Our room was a basic room it was the only room left at the time of booking ,it was quite small but had everything you needed ,if you need an iron or an hairdryer they are left out at the top of the stairs for people to use .The room was quite quaint and almost had the feeling of being...

If you want something classic, not cookie cutter, this is the place. Old Florida inn, no elevator but they help you with luggage. Very reasonably priced. Gorgeous lobby and bar. Very friendly people! Actual room keys with numbers on them. Bed was comfy, room was air conditioned. Bathrooms are clean but not modern, old very nice ceramic bowl sink and...

Reservations were made in advance. Check in was smooth and efficient. Our room was on the third floor and if there was negatives, it would be that there are no elevators, so you must carry your luggage up to the room. However, we were offered help to by the staff. We were in rooms 310 and 311. The rooms were...

Stayed at the Gibson totally by mistake. I was looking at a place on St George Island and somehow ended up booking the Gibson Inn. Actually didn't realize it until we got to the turn off for St George and the GPS took me a different way!!! Probably the best mistake I've ever made. Beautiful old Inn that has kept...

This hotel is wonderfully located in downtown Apalachicola, the staff was very nice, the room was clean, and the toilet worked. However, from the moment we were cast into Room 201, where there was wailing and gnashing of teeth, until checkout, it was like some kind of nightmarish workshop in hotel malpractice. When we arrived, we tried to recharge our...

I’m sorry you did not find your stay with us satisfactory. We value each of our guests, and strive to make every stay a memorable experience. Due to guest allergies, our pet friendly rooms are limited to our 5 veranda rooms. This also makes it easier for pet owners to walk their dogs, as there is a direct staircase down...

My fiancé & I really love everything about the Gibson Inn and would recommend it to anyone wanting a truly relaxing, quiet and fun place to get away. This hotel was built in 1907 and comes with an abundance of charm! We love the wrap around rocking chair porches, the friendly staff and the unique variation of each of the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Gibson Inn is a fine example of Florida "Cracker" Architecture. This was the style of wood frame structure used widely in the 19th and early 20th century in Florida. These homes and businesses are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors, high ceilings, center hallways, and large wrap around porches. A widows walk and cupola crown the tin roof, all a reflection of the area's steamboat past. Built in 1907 of native heart pine and black cypress, the inn soon became known as a first class luxury hotel and was the only one between Pensacola and Jacksonville heated entirely by steam. Now listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Many of the 30 guest rooms are uniquely appointed with authentic antique furnishings, cable TV, telephone, and wireless internet. Each guest room has its own full private bath. ... more   less
