The hostel is clean and tidy. Located in town close to the water-taxi, shops and restaurants. The cats and dogs make it very lovely to stay there (if you like them). Enough showers and bathrooms (all clean, no hot water) sheets and kitchen. That said the hostel has downsides. No lock on the front-door or to the doors of dorm-rooms....

Great location 2 blocks from main street. (1 block from bank) The BEST sunsets ever from the private beach located in the sanctuary. Kayaks available to explore the mangroves and reach other beaches. Chill out on the dock watching the sunset or fall asleep in the hammock. We could hang out on the dock for hours watching stink rays, pelicans,...

Madi is a great host and she does a great job at creating an awesome vibe. The most rewarding view of the sunset... I mean what more could you ask for :) The rooms, kitchen area, bathrooms are cleaned on a daily basis. The are kayaks available. I would defiantly recommend this hostel.

This is okay accommodation on Caye caulker. I know the place says you must love cats and dogs to stay there but we didn't expect the place to sink of cat poo!!! The owner is sweet. The rooms are pretty basic with no lockers in ours. Definitely only stay here if you love the smell of animals too !!! The...

4 of us stayed here in mid April, in a private four bed cabin. The cabin was nice, although very warm even with the fan on. The positives were that there was a kitchen (although i didn't use it so i don't know how equipped it was) as well as decent wifi, a small deck and use of kayaks. Negatives...

We got to this beautiful island and it was hard to find this hostel to start and the initial impressions were not good (from the gate), but as soon as we turned the corner and checked in we were pleasantly surprised, had a private room with its own balcony, private beach and dock and free kayaks to use for the...

I recently stayed at Pause/Paws and its a wonderful place. It is definitely the cheapest place to stay on the island. For $10 a night you get a bed, free wifi, awesome deck to watch sun set, unlimited kayaking, paddle-boarding and all the coconuts you can drink (however you need to be able to climb the tree and chop the...

Madi has made a sanctuary for some of the dogs and cats of Caye Caulker while at the same time she has created a tranquil setting for backpackers who love the furry company of Peaches, Chaak, Oso and Twinkie. There are also cats about, but I'm terrible with their names. Set away from the hustle of Front Street, one can...

We loved it so much we had to return the following year. Once again we had a lovely place to stay and helped Madi around the place. Madi is a wonderful person who is trying daily to keep things going. The few negative reviews on here are usually about charging people for nights when they cancel: if someone is trying...

We originally booked for 2 nights and extended for a total of 7 nights. If you love cats and dogs, like a quite environment and enjoy meeting laid back travelers from all over the world this is the place. This is NOT a party hostel, quite the opposite, it is very mellow. Maddy, Delia and Captain Wilbert are very kind...
