My colleague and I recently stayed at Chaab'il B'e for work, and after long (and hot!) days, coming back to the lodge was like coming home. Rusty and Sheila are incredibly hospitable and kind. The area is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Our rooms were immaculate,...More

Sheila prepared a lovely evening meal for our arrival even with short notice. The breakfasts were delicious. Our lodge room was very comfortable with plenty of room and good lighting. Punta Gorda Town is an easy 15 minute drive from Chaab'il B'e for lunch and...More

You both know how much we enjoyed having you at the lodge. Next time it's off to Agua Caliente! Thanks for the lovely review.
Immediately after booking, Sheila was in touch with us to assist in every way, arranging flat fishing, tour guiding and local transportation and recommending dining places.
Room was immaculate.
We only managed to eat breakfasts there, but Sheila is a world class omelette maker!!

Sherrie, thanks so much for the nice review, but even more for staying with us and letting me help you with your trip. It helped me to focus on what's best here in Toledo. So, thanks for that and we hope to see you again!

I'm not sure if Lee checks TripAdvisor for comments, but my wife and I were guests at Tranquility Lodge last June (2014), so I can at least tell you what we did . . . There are some trails right on the property, as well as swimming (though the rains had made the creek/swimming hole muddy when we were there). We went to the Mayan sites of Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit one day, with a stop at Coleman's Restaurant, all of which I can recommend. We also went to the Mayan site of Uxbenka, which isn't as well excavated/developed, and was part of a trip that I don't think is normally available. You can also go to a local chocolate factory. We ran out of time to do that, so can't comment on what it's like. But it's chocolate, so how bad could it be?
We were supposed to go kayaking on one of the local rivers, but a big rainstorm prevented that (which is why we went to Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit). There are a couple of kayaking options in the area.
